I live near Travis Air Force Base in California which was a Military Airlift Command base and the Air Force played a huge role during the Vietnam War especially with airlifting troops from the U.S. to Vietnam. My new Civil Air Patrol squadron commander served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War and he was in the legendary Strategic Air Command!
I served in the USAF Tactical Air Command during early 90's at RAF Lakenheath, UK. We had a few guys that had served in Vietnam. They were no-nonsense tough as nails type of guys, but loyal, dependable and amazing. At that time, our European allies were still flying a few F-4's. I loved that big bird. It just a very sexy air frame and incredible power on takeoff. Tell your CAP commander thank you for serving!!!
I was at RAF Lakenheath, when the F111 went after a colonel gaddafi back when pave tac guidance was the latest n greatest.. figure its the 22's and 35's still have the golden bour on my mind from time to time.
@@richardofnashville5073 I got there just a couple of years after that happened. Several of the guys told about the day of the launch. Thank you for serving my brother in arms!

I am pro America and pro military..I was in Vietnam not long ago and it's unbelievable..I am going back and stay longer because it's so cheap and fun.. maybe they are doing so good because of what we done over there..I don't really know..I lost two friends in the war..I think the idiots in Washington poke their noses in places in the world that they should leave alone..and of course our brave soldiers have to die for their mistakes.. I like the way the dothraki fight in the Game of Thrones.. the guy that starts the war is the first one to ride into battle.. if America would be like that we would never have any wars..that's my two cents worth!!
There is NO NORTH, it's ONE country now. Without others meddling in sovereign affairs. That's how there's peace. Peace of mind. Peace to control ones own future good or bad. It's been rough, but it's what they fought for. And in ways still are. Where have you been since 1975?
