Being one of the only people that didn't faint while watching Takumi driving, actually learning to drift and ditching handbrake cornering for the actual Heel and toe technique with his new turbo car. If you compare that with Iketani sloopy exits, you can make the case of Itsuki just being a more gifted driver than the rest of the Akina speedstars
You should watch extra stage 2, there Iketani too ditches the handbrake and does actual braking drifts. It was pretty exciting to me because I was so down with seeing the Speed Stars improve.
Honestly I wouldn’t mock Itsuki‘s drive to become a good street racer. Iketani and Shinji sort of cannot jump their shadows to become better, but Itsuki is willing to second guess himself and try again and again to become better. And I’d say it’s working!
Ryosuke was just a really smart guy who played his cards right to not only fullfil his dream, but his brothers and his team's. Takumi just kinda decided that his dream was to be apart of project D and go on from there, which essentially was the same as Keisuke's. I'd say Initial D isn't really about one main character, but the idea of project D in general, hence the name: Initial D.

There is an entry that was missed, the "Delorean" entry. I can explain this in a very vague, easy to understand manner. i personally think that shinji was hallucinating but not because of drugs, some kind of psychotic disorder, most likely schizophrenia, he is very alike n is probably based off of shinji ikari who is implied to have psychosis (induced from depression)
Wouldn't doubt it if bunta was running drugs, he always had a gangster kind of vibe and somehow has deep connections to be able to get stuff like the new engine. Could just be that he got deep in the street racing scene and got his connections that way though
>Ryosuke isn't featured much in season 2 (Second Stage) Have you even watched Initial D? He almost singlehandedly defends the Gunma prefecture from the Emperor team of Lan Evos in his race with Sudo. Sure, he isn't the main antagonist anymore, but saying he isn't featured much is a massive understatement. Also, the "Takumi and Shinji are brothers" theory is impossible, because in the manga, Shinji's father is confirmed to have died of unknown circumstances.

Yeah they honestly gave up with the years, the 350z wasn't around in 98' (which is loosely when the 5th stage is) and the GTR R34 wasn't around till '99, but even if God Foot hot his early he would have but a week of practice before racing Keisuke so he was screwed from the start.
My guess is that he got her pregnant before she met her husband and he then had to leave with Takumi, raising him as a single father because of some complications. In my eyes the most logical way for the theory to play out.
In stage 4 Takumi starts to wear what appear to be Nikes but there are numerous frames where he guages the clutch and his jeans are lifted revealing that they weren't Nikes but they were Sikes
4:53 The plate of the GT86 reads 86-239, which when read phonetically in Japanese can read as “hachi-roku, nii san-kyuu”, and the cameo is a tiny little nod of appreciation (san-kyuu -> thank you)
Yeah Ryosuke feels like the protagonist because its like the show is being narrated by him explaining how he introduced street racers to track racing from the beginning.
Those are really very exciting theories, but I have to say that the Akina mountain really exists, only in real life it's not called Akina, it is called Mount Haruna Fuji and Mount Akagi is also real!, and it's really called Akagi! The two mountains almost face each other in Gunma. Even the locations are real and were taken for the anime. There are magazines to read that show you where the Akina Pass begins and ends. You can boot it up yourself. Other landmarks from the anime that have been taken from real locations are also shown there. Gunma is initial. D world every fan knows that! Most of the stuff was carried over into the anime from there. There is an Initial D Cafe down in the valley before the start of the Akina Mountain Pass. ☺ My brother and I come from Mount Akagi and honestly the population and fame is on Mount Akina a.c.a Haruna Fuji is realy stronger. There are many more tourists on the road, if only because of the legendary takumi route, the Akina pass that really exists. The Initial D Cafe I just told you about, has fan cars, the real ones from the anime, it's also called *D'z Racing Cafe Garage* and you can borrow these cars and drive up the Akina Pass with them, just like the TH-cam channel Noriyaro did. ❤
To add to takumi and shinji or however you spell it when takumi is racing keisuke he mentions the shift pattern of the 86 is like a rally transmission, this would also explain wtf bunta could get the beefy replacement engine after its blown up. The iceberg is a bit misleading, considering that the most baffling entries (e.g drug-smuggling and itsuki being a tactician) are pretty dumb theories.
i got a theory, initial D was actually NEVER set in the 90s but instead when they made episodes in the 90s the show was set in the future thats why we see cars like the new mr2, the 350z, and the new gt86. Its because Initial D was actually never set in the 90s.
With the takumi and shinji are brothers theory, I think a better explanation is that. They are half brothers born from the same mom, Which I think is a little better than the “Bunta used to be a rally driver and faked his death” but then again idrk
I do not think that the drug delivery is actually a thing in initial D, you see, he delivered BOXES of tofu and each tofu block (size unknown but most likely small) is 140 yen a piece, let's say there are 20 to 30 pieces in each box with tofu. that would make it 5600 to 8400 yen per day for a delivery, which means that Bunta made somewhere about 168 000 to 252 000 yen a month for 2 boxes of tofu only (the 86 looks like it could transport 4 boxes of tofu) which means the money made per month can get to 336 000 to 504 000 yen a month. Not to mention, the shop can help you evade the taxes for products so if the taxes were high Bunta had a serious price advantage when it comes to parts. Plus, takumi has said in initial D before that he only drives fast so he can get some rest before going to school.
i Don't think Shinji ever Used Drugs. He Just Has a Very Childish, Overly Fanciful & Unoccupied Mind [ He Doesn't Like Races Enough To See Her Beauty Without Imagining Situations That Don't In Her. Similar to Alice Lindell, A Little Bit ]. A More Extreme Mindset Compared to Takumi's Relationship With his Hachi-Roku. The Way Shinji Believes That Overtaking Takumi in Front of Mako Will Make Her Like Him Is Pretty Funny. "Yes! i'll Humiliate The Most Popular Boy in School to Make the Girl i Like Like Me!"
I don't really agree with the theorie of Takumi being Shinji's brother It's more like a return to the roots like takumi seeing himself starting street racing while being in keisuke's situation when the manga started yes it's weird that both guys miss a parent from the opposite sex and both drove an 86 nowhere it was mentionned that Bunta did rally in the past. it seems like he stay on street racing

@@QuakeGamerROTMG i know but i juat cant help but correct it.
i personally think that shinji was hallucinating but not because of drugs, some kind of psychotic disorder, most likely schizophrenia, he is very alike n is probably based off of shinji ikari who is implied to have psychosis (induced from depression)
"However Itsuki never doubted Takumi's chances of... shit"
Straight out of a YTP
Wouldn't doubt it if bunta was running drugs, he always had a gangster kind of vibe and somehow has deep connections to be able to get stuff like the new engine. Could just be that he got deep in the street racing scene and got his connections that way though
>Ryosuke isn't featured much in season 2 (Second Stage)
Have you even watched Initial D? He almost singlehandedly defends the Gunma prefecture from the Emperor team of Lan Evos in his race with Sudo. Sure, he isn't the main antagonist anymore, but saying he isn't featured much is a massive understatement.
Also, the "Takumi and Shinji are brothers" theory is impossible, because in the manga, Shinji's father is confirmed to have died of unknown circumstances.
Very interesting tbh
Just subscribed btw
4:18 I was surprise that their was a delorean in Initial D
"Back to the Future"
I would love to know who that delightful weirdo is driving around Akina in a DeLorean!
This is brilliant m8!
tsuchia didint learn to drift in an 86, he learned with a skyline
You forgot the long haired guy in Red Suns from First Stage. The question is where the heck is he?
And the other 5-6 drivers in the first episode, like the Green FD, and Supra, we never see those guys again, their never even mentioned again.
@@Bload72productions wasnt red suns disbanded after 2nd stage or something, only the s14 driver stays
@@TheXDGuy Yeah the A tier of the Redsuns was disbanded into project D during the third stage. But, the B tier that ran in episode 1 at Akina is never seen again.
Just adding some missing point

5:02 doesn't initial d take place in the early 00's with ikeda and his 350z
No it's late 90s somehow not sure how that car is in initial d
@@jordanrobshaw1406 at least it's one of the more original Nissans in the show
@@Ystijger but there's the R32 that car is a JDM legend
Ikeda originally uses a Z32 but the author chose the ugly Z33 instead
Yeah they honestly gave up with the years, the 350z wasn't around in 98' (which is loosely when the 5th stage is) and the GTR R34 wasn't around till '99, but even if God Foot hot his early he would have but a week of practice before racing Keisuke so he was screwed from the start.
my guy really said "toog"
What a legend he cover the entire iceberg
2:49 that's went from atmosphere to ice surface real quick
4:13 and that's went from underwater to surface forcely lol
The brother one doesn’t work cause wouldn’t shinji’s mom probably recognize takumi and plus why would bunta leave his family except takumi
also her surname isn't fujiwara, unless if she changed it back to inui then ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
My guess is that he got her pregnant before she met her husband and he then had to leave with Takumi, raising him as a single father because of some complications.
In my eyes the most logical way for the theory to play out.
@@AndorRadnai there are alot of variables that have to go right
@@mr.redpanda- A huge amount, yes. But that’s the case with all of them!
takumi driving cocaine to hotels seems like a good plot twist
I really admire you showing up your bloopers most TH-camrs would be to embarassed to show that
Man takumi delivers drugs that's kill me every time lamo
In stage 4 Takumi starts to wear what appear to be Nikes but there are numerous frames where he guages the clutch and his jeans are lifted revealing that they weren't Nikes but they were Sikes
Actually, Takumi does look a lot like shinji's mother and bunta looks like shinji
and at the end Takumi takes drug delivery to industrial level
There's no actual evidence Shinji was actually using LSD 💀
5:51 go to KFC... There you'll see a lot of wings
4:53 The plate of the GT86 reads 86-239, which when read phonetically in Japanese can read as “hachi-roku, nii san-kyuu”, and the cameo is a tiny little nod of appreciation (san-kyuu -> thank you)
ah yes, shinki
Your explanation is good but man the iceberg is shallow
Bunta doesn't even like Tofu, I wouldn't doubt the possibility of him being a drug dealer.
here, this video slaps like initial d soundtrack
congrats, you earned a sub to 30.
The 5:15 "initial D ex" is initial D for ps 1
every time this guy says “toog” i want to pass away
To add to takumi and shinji or however you spell it when takumi is racing keisuke he mentions the shift pattern of the 86 is like a rally transmission, this would also explain wtf bunta could get the beefy replacement engine after its blown up. Never thought abt that. Sorry if I butchered spelling of names
new balance 574's are actually some the best comfort shoes on the market rn, i bought my first pair because they are "tAkUmI sHoEs" like 3 years ago and they are the only shoes ive worn daily since
If the show wraps up in the late 90s how was there a 350Z
bakuon has a bunch of initial D references
What is bakuon?
@@jordanrobshaw1406 its an anime about a highchool bike club but the creators are car and bike guys there is hidden ae86 hidden in traffic and other small stuff

Was hoping to see Densha de D in this video, maybe next time
Damm that product placement works.
Tbh, New Balance ad worked for me, got a pair once and they are insanely comfy and affordable.
ppl who say "toog" or ryosookay" or "keisookay" is really triggering
I thought of LSD as limited slip differential instead of the drug. 💀
im still waiting for somebody to do the Forza Horizon series ice berg explanation. What happens when the discontinued games Forzathon timer runs out?
That game got no iceberg lol .
@@LordKurian Why would you say such nonsense without checking? There are 2 videos about the Forza iceberg on TH-cam and the iceberg jpeg was a top post on the forza reddit a few months ago.
Imo the tofu drug theory can be debunked, hotels need the food and ingredients early in the morning for breakfast preparation so it makes sense that he delivers it before dawn cus the chefs needs to prepare tons of dishes before dawn, rather than delivering it early to avoid cops. Sorry if it's wrong or bad English
What if he delivered both, if you think about it that could explain how Bunta has so many connections and could afford the AE86 and the Subie
What about the guy in the Mercedes that Mogi dated
In the manga you can see that the father of Takahashi broders and the guy in the mercedes have the same car.
@@jorgerivera6298 that’s a neat detail

To anyone who sees this, MF Ghost is getting an adaptation next year(2023). The trailer's up if anyone wants to see it!
well the storyline was set somewhere in the 90's , not only the gt86 was a time travelling car , ikeda's z33 was made in 2002, as well as godfoot's r34, and kobayakawa's evo was made in 2001
I feel like this is all a stretch
also, the suke in ryosuke n keisukes name is pronounced skay not soo-kay
The licence plate of the GT86 is a good one too.
Only gripe is "ree-oh-soo-kay"
The iceberg is a bit misleading, considering that the most baffling entries (e.g drug-smuggling and itsuki being a tactician) are pretty dumb theories.
Well, the drug dealing would explain how Bunta had the money for tunning his cars
The soundtrack absolutely FUCKIN SLAPS!
fuck yeah it does
Id like to see auras on the iceberg
extreme plot armour
i got a theory, initial D was actually NEVER set in the 90s but instead when they made episodes in the 90s the show was set in the future thats why we see cars like the new mr2, the 350z, and the new gt86. Its because Initial D was actually never set in the 90s.
What episode is the delorean in?
Toog
LSD. Of course. It all makes sense way more sense now.
Bunta racing rally makes since because how else would he have connections to buy a group A motor for the 86.
Being friends with the DK is connection enough
@@LynxBlack He was a rival of Ken Kogoshiwa too, who coincidentally happened to be a rally driver before he got into street racing
5:42 Oh I thought LSD was refrenece to limited slip differecnial
With the takumi and shinji are brothers theory, I think a better explanation is that. They are half brothers born from the same mom, Which I think is a little better than the “Bunta used to be a rally driver and faked his death” but then again idrk
Maybe the mother has a thing for 86 drivers
“Rio-suka”
The real question is where is takumi’s mum?
How does drug connect to the anime when the anime’s all about cars🤔
you lost me at the Steven Universe screenshot
what about the radio stages?
5:46 I don’t think Shinji took LSD
He is just dreaming about KFC 😏🐓
No Mercedes guy really???!?!?!!?
bro why is your voice cracking so much?
I personally think that the "d" in initial d is "drift"
Real necro vmx vibes
i Don't think Shinji ever Used Drugs.
Shinji and lsd🤣
Ah shit! Spelt that wrong 😂
I don't really agree with the theorie of Takumi being Shinji's brother
It's more like a return to the roots like takumi seeing himself starting street racing while being in keisuke's situation when the manga started
yes it's weird that both guys miss a parent from the opposite sex and both drove an 86
nowhere it was mentionned that Bunta did rally in the past. it seems like he stay on street racing
