Asking about the numbers, you should present data of how government is out of money as on one side they are claiming more and more people are coming under epfo and direct tax slabs and have collected record taxes from direct and indirect taxes. Dont cry with your 5% tax paying people lolypop. Everybody is paying indirect taxes, from morning cup of tea to good night mosquito coils, from LPG to petrol and disel, they even imposed taxes of necessary items like flour which even east India company never did. Chech the inflation index, it's on record high at the times when unemployment is also at record high. Check malnutrition index, MSMEs are bankrupted, the shopkeepers are out of market and crying about of their survival, right becoming more rich because of easy access to capital and loans by presenting artificially inflated stock prices of their company shares by their shell companies from tax havens, the black money in Swiss bank is at record high while the farmers and students are committing suicides but all the government funded undertakings are being sold to corporate (Airport, Rail, SAIL,...) And govt vacancies are record low which will further shrik. The schemes like agniveer is trailer, they will make everything on contract and exploitation of citizens will reach new heights by this govt private limited company. This BJP private limited company is maximizing the taxes revenue and minimising the expenditure by selling everything to corporate friends. BJP private limited is looting multiple times as compared to east india company.

You don't complain when petrol prices are above 100 even though it's at their lowest in the international market, but when it comes to food, you want it to be the cheapest in the world. Then you compare the market prices of wheat with America, where the average farm is around 500 acres, but when it comes to subsidies to support farmers, India becomes poor. It's surprising and hypocritical.
Prices are driven by demand and supply, it shouldn't be intervened by govt. Instead of MSP govt should provide better storage facilities to farmers at lowest cost so farmers gets benefitted most when prices increase.

It’s true for any occupation. When you go to office, it’s not just a job, it’s future of your family.. Future of your children.
These are just generic statements. At the end of the day, it’s very important to make farming profitable which can be done only if it is run as a business. Yes, there will always be some subsidies or government support required in agriculture, but in the end it has to be made profitable.
Our country's agricultural governing system needs an overhaul in nutshell. Need involvement of economists like Manmohan Singh sir and others.

But by this logic, inflation is good, prices will increase, producer or ultimately someone will make money and it'll grow the economy. And btw the price offered by current MSP is somewhere around what we get the grains at home! It'll create massive inflation of about ~20-25% because after selling at msp, there's transportation, packing and commission of trader involved. I think you'll agree that government will not come in mandis and sell the grains for farmers, that thing has to done by the traders which will ultimately not be possible if MSP is legal right!
From what I remember that the frist farm bills where brought to cut out the middle man , the farmers didn't quite like it 😅
Farm bills were not to cut middle man but gave unparalleled powers to big private players like Adani to purchase and store farmers produce without any guarantee of MSP. Those laws would have forced small farmers into even deeper poverty. Read the full 3 law details first.

My question are in depth, and is with the assumption that farming is a business
1) Why Farmers need loan for seeds, seeds and manure is given by Govt water is also provided by govt via canal with minimum price, the major expenditure is usage of tractor but that is not in lakhs,
2) Even farmers needs minimal loan the KCC offer loans Upto 3 lac at 4%
3) More over why farmers are only growing wheat and rice, today import of wheat and rice is more economical than purchasing rice from our own farmer.
3) if we still need to define MSP for farmers, then can this be limited to the BPL farmers for support and it should be scrutinised properly, I am aware people with multiple source of income does declare themselves in BPL
For 3rd question it's always better to buy something from your country rather than outside as u become dependent which may cause problems later

If government can import cheaper crops, then there should be option for farmers to directly export their produce it they find better price in a neighbouring country without paper work and government interference. see now Polish farmers protesting not to import cheap agriculture produce in Europe.

sir, middle man concept was tried to eradicate in farm laws which was removed by the farmer in 1.0 protest which would create a strong mandi system
FCI is not able sell its grains most of them are rotting away neither they are a profit making organization so if we spend money on more crops more rotting away causing more loss why to bear it
instead if MSP the storage system and exporting system of FCI should be expanded for net profit

Think about this C2 + 50% consists of all costs (seeds+ fertilizers + pesticide + land rent + electricity + water) The farmers want a complete loan maafi on electricity and water and still want to include them as the cost? Does this seem fair? You dont incur a cost because of subsidies and loan cancellations but you still consider them as costs. The C2 + 50% formula is full proof. No one can deny that

No sir, with due respect. He do not know the ground reality of the rest of the India. Just went ahead which few theories !! Farmers means -- Not just Punjab, Haryana, and west UP.. There are other farmers also in india !!! This is literally taking hostage of the rest of the farmers in the country !!!
In Agriculture: Electricity, Seeds, Pesticides, Irrigation all are provided by state governments. All crops have different input cost in different state? How would one ensure 50% profit on them? Moreover why 50% profit on Agriculture only? Why not to all Shopkeepers, to all manufacturers?
Problem is consumer pays full amount for all grains and vegetables. But the farmer gets only 10% of it. WHY?

#FARMERPROTEST as a farmer myself.
The farmers demands are unreasonable.
Here are my thoughts
1. MSP should be restricted to farmers owning a land upto 10 acres. Therefore it does two things.
A. Big land farmers doesn't get the benefits of cultivating of MSP crops (above 10acres).
B. Farmers will diversify the crop cultivation which will increase their income .
2. Goverment should identify land best for a crop other than MSP crops and give them guidance and support to grow them . Because many farmers are used to grow rice and wheat from generations. They have no idea to switch to other crop .

MSP is just one of the demands, the remaining ones are largely unreasonable.
Just the MNREGA demand alone, will cost 14 lakh crores, even if it is limited to 10 crore beneficiaries.
If you implament MSP, its highly recomended for well to do farmers to start paying TAXES , why should only corporate persons pay TAXES

Sir, I don't think there is anyone as intelligent as you and your team in the Govt who could study the pro's and Cons of the MSP issue and implement it. You have done a wonderful job. Kudos to you and your team...
One of the best sum up of farmers everyday struggle and on MSP. As an agriculturist, I say with confidence that farmers never earned enough in the last 40 years (I have practical experience for this period) and not earning enough even today. Most of the people look at the earnings they make in one crop or cycle. But ten other times he fails to get proper yields/prices due to variety of reasons and few of them summed up here. This cycle continues for many decades. Dr. MS Swaminathan’s committee recommended for the very reason the MSP@cost+50%. Many experts mistakenly think that is a huge upside. They need an assurance thru MSP system to live a decent life.
I appreciate how accurate @Deshbhakt mentions at 12:56 this is just a difference between buying price and selling price which is taught in class 8. Unfortunately, theory of demand and supply and basic economics are usually taught in higher classes.
If middle man get removed they will protest for unemployed 😂😂

There is actually one disparity. Farmers in Bengal, Bihar are extremely poor and the farmers of Punjab, Haryana are mostly rich. As MSP was to help small farmers then why these farmers with small production are not concerned? Here they go to mandis and deal with mandi syndicates where as the Marcedes farmers of Punjab are already selling their goods to some multi national companies. The protest that should be done by small farmers are being done by rich ones and tbh the smaller ones are not bothered. Isn't it like the bengali proverb- "jar biye tar hush nei para porshir ghum nei ?"
Govt has been helping small farmers a lot. Through crop insurance, PM-Kisaan stipend etc. And actually Bihar and Bengal are getting low prices due to overproduction by Punjab farmers.
In fact, govt should stop MSP to Punjab and give to Bihar and Bengal. But bihar/bengal have low yield because they are not using enough fertilizers, like Punjab.
