Why Pakistan Imploded | From Economic 'Role Model' to Terror 'Safe Haven' | Akash Banerjee & Adwaith

  • In the 1960's Pakistan was the poster-boy for development ... her GDP was growing at a faster trot than India, Pakistan's per-capita income for a long time was almost the same as of India - sometimes even more... what then led to the virtual implosion of a nation that was once compared to South Korea? This is the story of the Asian 'role model' state and how in a short time it transformed into a politically unstable, economically bankrupt, terror safe haven. We unearth the core reasons and lessons that this country's spectacular fall has for others.

Thier gdp is low because it is mostly mountainous area with very low population density, which makes it unsuitable for big industry, still the government is trying to set up many small industries like furniture etc. to make better provisions there.

From this case study, it's also very clear how difficult a journey the leaders of our country underwent at that time to keep this large, diverse country united amidst all the vulnerabilities such as high poverty, famine, food-shortage and low literacy rate. This is the first time I've come across this channel and have to say, the summary of your presentation is very concise and largely accurate. The Pakistan story is a sad one for any Pakistani citizen.
I think the main problem with the experiment of Pakistan was its original idea of creation based on religion. This flaw influenced the course of its history as you explained well. India, despite its diversity and Hindu majority, was founded on secular principles. This is THE MAIN difference why the two countries find themselves on different trajectories today.
Religion should never be allowed to be the ruling force, as we've all learnt from the history of Europe and how they progressed only once they got rid of the clergy from the governance. The age of enlightenment followed and is for all to witness today.
I admire a prosperous India and its journey. Its beauty is in its diversity of languages, cultures and religions. What a wonderful way to respect and learn from each other's differences by living together. I wish my old homeland Pakistan had been a safe place for all minorities and a merit-based country. I wish !

To those comparing Pakistan's past with India, you need to know that India has always had Hindu majority, which welcomed people from all spheres. There had been times that even jews who were chased out from EU, were allowed shelter, which the British rule had denied them during pre-ind.
Religion hiccups and quarrels were there too but that didn't stop India from attracting the persecuted which includes Persians, Arab Christians, Muslim Sailors, Jews, Yazids etc.
Ask yourself if people from your religion can simultaneously visit or pray in a church, mosque, temple, shrine, gurudwara etc without any hesitation?
THE MAJORITY IN INDIA DOES THAT!

Hey Banerjee, Am sure you must have heard & read the Hindu Scripture " Mahabharat". In Mahabharat there were "Kauravas" & there were "Pandavas". They were brothers but from different mothers. From the very beginning, Pandavas were tolerant enough to ignore & forgive all the mischievous acts of Kauravas. Even Kauravas, cheated them in Chausar & took all their righteous things away. But Pandavs believed in Krishna, who always showed them the right path. But the battle between Kaurava & Pandav was inevident, because Pandavas intolerance made Kauravas feel that their wrong deeds are right. Finally battle happened & Pandavs won. Now this is the same story of Hindu & Bhartiya Mulsims, Hindus tolerance made Muslims to feel that they can do anything in the name of minority & congress party will be there to support & secure them. But Muslims never thought of Hindus as their brothers, they always thought them as their enemy & wanted to conquer Bharat to establish Islam. From last many years, Hindus were tolerant that's why Muslims grew up in India. Tell me how Waqf acquired so much of Land in India. Do you have the courage to make a video on that? Why don't you make a video about why Muslims are always the centre point of any sort of Terrorism?? Why don't you make a video on Shah Bano case. I know you wouldn't, because you are a propagandist.

Is shouting sir tan se juda and actually doing it is hindutya approach, 15min ke liye police hata lo, humari sarakr aayegi to ayodhya me mandir gira denge, is that all hindutya approach.....let me tell you the difference, call extremism when one relegion want every relegion to go out like what happened in pakistan, in India no sikh is on target, parsi, jews, buddhist all are safe. If there is shouting against one relegion than there must be something wrong and not in India but this is a world wide phenomenon, all relegion world wide stopped tolerating non sense of one community and you onow who are they. 2) Don't listen to godi media. EXTREMELY distorted from real life. Trust me. I've friends in journalism who regret joining these companies because of the level of manipulation and pressure(at least firstpost and NDTV)
      3) Don't judge Europe for inclusivity. They are a bunch of "developed" countries, but they have absolutely no tolerance for people slightly different from their culture. Just look at the geography. So much land. Such less number of people and population density. Yet their history has been extremely bloody and war torn with massive cases of genocides across centuries. They are supremely intolerant of other cultures. Only in the past decade have they actually every witnessed people from other places coming there and a lot of their citizens can't handle it only. That's why the right wing conservatives have shot up like nobody's business.
      4) Most important - If you are actually proud of Hinduism - I am - read and understand our scriptures like the Vedas and Upanishads (Not manusmriti, because it's a relatively newer text written in a corrupted era where Hinduism and nationalism intertwined). You will find out that there is never a victim mentality in our religion. You keep saying no in your comments - 'Arey... WE are doing This only to protect ourselves because THEY are doing That'. That kind of mentality is some of the most pathetic kind of thinking a human being can have and must be weeded out in childhood itself to have a stable duty bound community structure. Read it. It's explained in both Atharva ved and Chandogya Upanishad. And they are right. As a country, our best successes throughout history have only been in empires which have been cosmopolitan and inclusive in their outlook.
