I think Todd McLellan would be just perfect for the Leafs, just my opinion.

Vancouver and Toronto have both endured big time players who don't seem to want to put out in the playoffs. Despite the interviews they give. Keefe waited for Marner to wake up. Even increased his ice time. But the wake up call was never answered. And guess who was on the ice for the losing goal against Boston. The question facing Tocchet is. Is Petey ramping up his compete level even a little over the past few games? The answer is, no. So, every reason to cut back his ice time.

Petterson won’t thank his team mates. He blames his poor performances on the two guys he plays with. What a great $12 million a year player to have 😂

Petterson's young egoic mind has all his attention right now, cuz he thinks/knows everyone is looking at him as the guy who held out for an elite contract, cuz he really is that good.
Whether that's true or not, the weight of expectation to deliver is overwhelming for this kid; and yes, let's be honest, Petey in some ways is still a kid (aren't we all?).
Evident from his interviews that could be likened to a conversation with a disgruntled/spoiled teenager who resents being "grilled"… and a body-language that seems to be sulking, on and off the ice.
Now he fears everyone believes he's a fraud and can't really deliver, and he's lost confidence in himself, and is losing the confidence of his teammates. Now he himself is questioning if he is indeed a fraud who can't deliver… this kid is NOT having fun.
Petey needs the absolute best sports psychologist that money could buy… and fast!!
It shouldn't be that hard really…play hockey for the love of the game….PERIOD.
All distractions, comments, expectations, pressures, and even my own personal messed up immature ego, can simply go screw themselves.
I love hockey. I've been playing hockey since I was a small child, and it brings me immense joy. I still love playing hockey at the age of 51, and hopefully will play into my nineties.
THIS is what Petterson has forgotten. Focus, Will, Compete, Scrap, Grit, and Passion; a beautiful mosaic of qualities that can only all come together if one is having FUN.
    this FUN is LOVE.
Great Hockey Players are Great simply because they Love The Game Of Hockey; that's it. It really isn't rocket science.
    go get 'em Petey

He's not a kid anymore. He's 25. He should be ramping up to his prime, but he is disappearing in these playoffs. He has been baubling passes, been tentative to go into the corners, weak on his feet. Sure, his anticipation is elite, but he lets the game come to him instead of exerting his will when he's on the ice. He's been a massive disappointment.

IF you hire Todd McLellan he will push a 1-3-1 system on the team, and suddenly the games are unwatchable. His teams are the most boring teams to watch.

    • @MarcoDonadeo2023
      @MarcoDonadeo2023 21 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

That is just flat out wrong. Todd adjusts his schemes to the team he has. LA had a strong defensive core and a underwhelming offensive core. That is why he went to the 1-3-1.
Todd played transition quick breakout teams for both the Oilers and the Sharks.
