  • In this episode I head offshore planer trolling a bucktail jig with the "Fish Slayer" and we catch a nice Barracuda, perfect size for bringing home. I then go over in detail how to properly clean and process this fish without butchering it. Then for the finale, I give to you my secret recipe for one of my favorite seafood dishes... Pan Seared Barracuda with Hong Kong Sauce... The outcome is most definitely gonna make you hungry. I promise.
    Enjoy ;)
    Tight lines & good vibes.

      @@SouthFloridaSaltwaterFishing I sure enjoy your vid's , I am a recent subscriber and a complete novice when it comes to saltwater fishing.
      You give plenty of the how's the what's and the equipment needed to get there.
      I live on Lake Ontario Canada , so the closest I can think of in fishing terms is trolling for salmon with downriggers , however , the equipment is quite different , here we use "cannonballs" on a separate "rod" with a release clip attached that actually holds the fishing line.
      Not many channels like yours that discuss every aspect of the sport without looking for financial gain.
      So most are biased opinions trying to sell you stuff.
      Keep 'm coming , looking forward to every video you post.

    Hi Heath, Avi made short work of Barracuda. By the comments below, Avi going to have his own fan club soon. I knew you could catch and clean fish but I didn't know you were a chef. I was under the impression that Barracuda didn't taste good but your dinner recipe looks great. Say "Hi" to Avi and the "Fishing Girls" for me. I hope Bijoux is feeling good. Have a good week and I'll talk to you on Thursday, Mickey

    • @SouthFloridaSaltwaterFishing
      @SouthFloridaSaltwaterFishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Mickey, thanks for watching. Bijoux is on the mend and doing well. Gonna miss a few days of school, but at least she is generally feeling better. Barracuda is a great eating fish. Too bad it's got a nasty reputation. Yes they are slimy. Most folks say they smell bad... I don't think so, but maybe that's just my sense of smell... Or I've been around fish and bait for far too long. I love having Avi out there with me, he always gets a kick out of catching fish and bringing home dinner... He's never late when there's fish being cooked. My culinary skills have been worked on for years, and having 4 children, I'm forced to think outside the box and act as if my kitchen is a restaurant. Thanks again for everything and always taking out time to think of me and my family. You sincerely make this journey 100% worthwhile. Hope everything is going well with you and your family. Talk to you Thursday. Take care :)

      Hi Heath, I'm glad to hear Bijoux is feeling better. She should start improving faster each day. It's nice to see you and Avi fishing together. He looks like he enjoys reeling in the big ones. I don't have the aptitude for cooking. I have a natural ability to fix anything mechanical, but cooking is out of my "wheel house." Fortunately my family is well and glad your family is too. Thanks for always taking the time to reply to my comments. Stay safe and good luck this week, Mickey

      Ironically I do not know anyone from any of those places. every once in awhile I get a craving for oriental food and when I have fish I know this great dish. It was inspired from some restaurant I ate at like 20 years ago. Never got the exact recipe so I made my own spin-off from it and it's delicious.

      What I like is the lifetime warranty they offer. My rod is from CHAOS, but it was given to me after I helped someone in recovery from hurricane Irma. Hope this helps. Thanks again. Good luck in your search. Tight lines & take care
