I know Ruth 🫶 the yarn gifted by your son is more precious than any high priced yarn. You had me in tears of joy for you and for Sam. Happy New Year and thank you for your lovely channel. xo
Ruth, that just may have been your best sermon ever. I don’t know about your other viewers, but I certainly needed it. 2024 is nearing an end. I pray that we all find peace in 2025.
Thanks, Ruth for all of your endy bits and for sharing with us the special gift of yarn from your son....that is so very special and you're right...better that any other yarn! Wishing you and your family a happy and healthy 2025....look forward to spending more time with you then😊
Yes, fantastic, our sons are so special. Your son did great, that blue yarn is beautiful. Give that little 😂 man an extra hug for all of the rest of us mothers of our wonderful sons 👏🏻
Thank you for another fun filled podcast - you always make me smile…although this time I might have had a few happy tears too when you showed the yarn off your lovely son 🙂 xx
Just 18 minutes in, but I have to tell you, you got my attention flashing that gorgeous Bridgeton shawl! Beautiful!😍 ❤ and that scrumptious color, just wow! 🤩
As the Mom of two boys, okay men well into their 40’s I totally understand how you feel. Clearly you are raising a fine young man who was not only willing to go spend his own money but to do it with friends. That’s the kind of young man who will go out into to the world and share his kindness. Always a good feeling as a parent. This year it was grandchildren who came through with beautiful yarn for me, guess I will knit them another hat. Happy New year🎉
Just what I needed ! 😍 Needless to say I really enjoyed watching. Your pink Simon shawl looks awesome ! It will add joy to gloomy days no doubt. And your colourwork sweater turned out beautiful, even without blocking. You are an amazing knitter, with so many projects in one year ! As they are a lot of bigger ones as well. I mean, I don't think I'd get to 82 even if I were to knit just socks... The yarn for Eva's sweater is lovely, with those shades of green in it. And the blue acrylic - what a lovely boy you have ! Thanks for another lovely podcast episode. Take care !
Dearest Ruth, you’ve no idea how much your “random thoughts” are not random at all. It’s been a hard year for me, too. And you being so honest about how hard it is and so transparent about your own struggles with grief and loss and the frustrations you’ve experienced in health has made it more bearable for me. And it has helped me to shift my focus to gratitude. I am so grateful for how He is caring for us during this storm (cancer). How close my husband and I have grown to each other, and especially how close we are to the Lord. How special our family is - and our friends. How blessed we are with all He has given us and all He has helped us through. How faithful He has been, is, and will be. And for our knitting community- and a sweet knitting friend named Ruth from across the pond❤ thank you for being so faithful!! God bless 😊you
Thank you for sharing at the end of every podcast. I especially enjoyed your Vlogmas and all the history of hymns and Scripture. Blessings for a peaceful and joyful 2025.
Hi Ruth Thank you so much for sharing God's word It came just at the right time with many things not going so well, but you have given me hope and reminded me that I need to Keep my eyes of the Lord. Your knitting pieces are beautiful you do such magnificent work. I have gotten the Simon shawl pattern and Im going to give it a go. Thank You. Happy New Year Look forward to your podcast in 2025. Be well.
Love the endy bits. Our sermon today was about how we should be telling people every day about Christ. And this inspires me as to how many people hear about Christ through your videos. ❤
Thankyou, Ruth! I love seeing your knitting. It is very sweet to have a year of Eva socks. My favourite knittting is making things for my children. Your words at the end are so relevant to our lives today. I appreciated the encouragement.
Hi Ruth. I have been watching you for a little while but I don’t usually stop long enough to comment so I thought I would do that today. I just want to let you know I appreciate you sharing the Word of God with us. I love hearing your perspective on scripture and you always leave me feeling thankful. I hope you continue to do that into 2025. I wish you and your family a prosperous new year and may God’s blessings be showered upon you in 2025. Rachel S. - Houston, TX USA.
Taking a break from knitting my first Simon Shawl, lovely pattern. I’m having to tackle the ironing pile, so I am very glad to have your podcast to watch to make the task more enjoyable 😊
What a blessing you bring to me. These past 5 weeks have been such a joy ❤ The knitting and the spiritual boost you give with with joy and honesty is a ray of sunshine ☀️
Hi Ruth! 👋🏼 I am knitting on my first Simon as I watched and listened to your podcast this morning before heading off to church. And YES I’d say you are a preacher or theologian. You know the scriptures and you explain them in a beautiful way and I always love hearing the last bits of your podcast. Thank you for being brave and sharing your love for the Lord and the scriptures with us. I imagine it’s had an impact on many over the years. Your sweater is beautiful! Can’t wait to see it on you. I love that your son bought you yarn!! Well done Samuel! 😊 And Eva gets a year of socks. That will be fun to watch. Happy almost New Year!
Love your bag of bits to represent the year! I am putting all my leftovers into a granny stripe blanket, it’s a crazy colour combo but I love looking at it and remembering all the projects. Xxx
Ruth I always say to people make your own sunshine when its grey and dull weather...you are truly a ray of sunshine..I love your videos and you always make me laugh..thank you for all your shows...and how prolific are you?! What a lovely son❤ See you next year🎉🎉 x
I am honoured to have found your podcasts and have enjoyed everyone of them! Thank you Ruth for bringing some sunshine when there was none. It was nice that your son gave you a heartfelt gift that has touched you so. Wishing your family a Happy New Year and a year filled with good health and happiness!
Awe Ruth you brought a tear to my eye tonight with your beautiful wool from your son ,bless him . Fabulous as always Ruth love the podcasts and often rewatch them on grey driech days ,I’m knitting a slip over sort of pullover also wee socks but they on hold as I noticed I’ve got two different shades of black and a coat .well jumper for Lunna, who just hates the cold rain or damp weather . Happy new year when it arrives Ruth to all of your family too , and I’ll be waiting on New Year’s Day for your news ❤xx
I agree with your daughter, all I ever wear is my handknit socks! Your son did an awesome job picking the yarn. I keep a list of my projects (no pictures) in a notebook. I just prefer the tactile nature of it. I'm trying to finish a couple of things in the next couple of days so I can cast on everything!
Merry and happy Ruth. Love your Mr Bridgerton shawl. The yarn color is lovely which I would call gold. I don’t know where the difference between yellow and gold is on the color wheel but I notice many people call a color yellow which I call gold. 😊 we all see colors differently!
How special for you 15 year old to go into the shop and get the yarn, obviously loves Mom💕 hope you continue to feel better, - Sox making for your daughter will be fun, will she be learning also - ? Lovely morning podcast - Happy New Year!!2025

Happy New Year Ruth to you and your family. This has been super. Love the endy bits. They are so meaningful and a help to many. I love putting hymn singing on yt….. The colour work jumper is the best - stunning indeed. Well done. We have had a tidy up in our house. It wasn’t too bad …… but now we can all do our own things and mine has been finishing some fingerless mitts for my grandson’s mate from uni. and watching you.

Ruth, your Mr. Bridgerton shawl is beautiful ❤ I've bought the pattern and have the perfect yarn for it - the Dye Candy Christmas box, 2 skeins of icy blue yarn. I also keep track of my projects in written form - dates, yarn used, needles, etc., even down to using my Sprocket for an FO picture ❤
My daughter made me the cutest snowman and Christmas tree and another daughter crocheted me a shaw. I know how you feel when your children make or gift you something so special.
Oh my goodness, beautiful shawl with the yellow brick road yarn❤. yellow is my favorite too. I was going to say Corrie Ten Boom wrote in The Hiding Place about being thankful even for the lice! I will never forget that. Thank you always for sharing the good Word. Happy New Year to you and your family😊
Ruth I have fallen down the Simon shawl rabbit hole, what a lovely relaxing pattern. This is my first ( only had the pattern two days) but I’m already imagining others. Thankyou for your company this month.
P.s forgot to say the very, very best of your vlog has been seeing and hearing the wool your wonderful son bought you. Tears came to my eyes and I can fully understand how that wool is far beyond any other you will ever purchase or receive. ❤
I have loved your podcast all year long and pray you have a joyful 2025. I noticed that in your devotional you mentioned a question I hear on a regular basis concerning why bad things happen to good people. The answer I give is that there are none who are good. Also, I have never heard anyone ask why good things happen to us as though we deserve what we consider to be good things. Just something to consider.
Thank you for your podcasts. I’ve only ‘discovered’ you recently, but have been thoroughly enjoying your advent podcasts. You’ve also encouraged me (finally?) to cast on my Simon shawl as well - although I’m not sure I’ll match the number you’ve made!
This has been the hardest year for me and my family. On January 12, 24 I lost my daughter who turned 40 on the January 7,24. She left behind her husband and seven children, the youngest one year old and the oldest of 17. It’s hard to believe that the one year mark is right around the corner.😢 In May I had to have my sweet dog put down 😢. But through all of this I know God has been there by my side. Thank you Ruth and may God bless you and your family for all your hard work getting your videos up. Praying that you and your family have a blessed new year. In May I had to put my mini schnauzer down du
Happy New Year Ruth x I thought the story of your son buying the wool for you was just the loveliest thing! God bless him for being such a kind and thoughtful boy. Every stitch you knit with it will be special and you’ll keep the item forever. That really moved me x
