- This man in Northern Canada is spending time alone in the woods. He's working on a cabin, cutting trees, eating delicious food, and watching northern lights. It gets even better when his girlfriend and his dog join him.

There are few things more Canadian than having a proper freshly made serving of poutine in your backwoods cabin. Well done.
In a canadian tire multi use bucket,,this is Quebec level.
Looks like u guy’s are having a great time! The little dog is really cute. Great to see Crystal enjoying herself!! Keep up the great work & be Safe!!
Hello from Southern California! You can get the stovetop sparkling clean by making a paste of baking soda and water and letting it sit for a bit. Add some Dawn dish soap and a little white vinegar. It will foam up, and you can scrub off all the burnt-on residue with little effort. In fact, it practically wipes off. I hope this tip helps!
All he needs is a SOS pad ❤️ have a great day
Another good one Jay. Please, please, please move that stored lumber and firewood away from the cabin walls by early spring. I lost a whole side of my garage’s sill plate to carpenter ants doing that. See you next week.
Yes and it will cause dampness and mould to start😎👍🏽
Ear protection, Jay!
The puppy is adorable!
Your stance is a bit dangerous. Bad for back and balance. Rethink how to stand and where to stand
Waaaat? Lol😊
For years I’ve told my son to always keep a lid next to the stove when frying. A couple weeks ago him following my advice saved us from a grease fire. The pot caught fire and he put the lid on…end of story!
Love your channel!!!
Your exactly right!
I also keep a fire extinguisher close at hand in the kitchen.
Your pup is hilarious to watch! So much energy!
BAM oven cleaner does the job here in Australia, to clean that gas cooktop. You spray the BAM on, and let it sit for 30 minutes. Then you do your scrubbing.
After, you can use a vinegar/water solution to clean the metal surface from the other impurities. Not sure what u have in canada, but bam is ; Ingredients:
Water, Dipropylene Glycol Propyl Ether, Isobutane, Potassium Carbonate, Ethanolamine, Smectite Clay, Benzyl Alcohol, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Paraffin Wax, Fragrance. Contains fragrance allergens.
After you BAM it Jay then buy Rustoleum gloss white high temperature spray paint. Three light coats. Will look like new.
Love the cozy rocking chair and stump end table. ps- pls cleat the top of your loft railing to the wall for strength and safety.
So helpful to put the ingredients
A Beeeautiful blanket Crystal made for you! A major piece of work…a lot of effort went into that. Great work!
Crystal is just what your cabin needed to make it a home away from home. Those little touches added to a home matter to make it comfy and cozy. Puffy is lovin' it out there with all the places to run around and have adventures. You seemed to be so happy there with your family. Great video, Jay!
Haha that was me! You said you’ll give it a go, it’s cool to see the results. I’m glad you like the fries! I saw in a previous video you wanted them crispier. I’m so happy the advise helped and you enjoyed crispy fries! Love the videos Jay, thanks for sharing!
Always an amazing part of my day getting to experience the tranquility of the cabin! Congrats on the new saw! 🙌
Puffy looks like a baby sheep and bounces like a baby goat. He is absolutely gorgeous !!
To clean the stove: make a wet paste of baking soda and white vinegar. Let it sit on the burnt on crud if it dries out, damp it with more vinegar. Use a scratch pad/sponge depending on how bad it is you might have to do it multiple times.
Exactly!!
Yay for Crystal and puffy love that puffy can't wait to see your new bill and your improvement on the cabin blessings to you too 😊
Peaceful, so peaceful, thank you. ✌️🐾🇱🇷
Just loved this! Thanks for sharing with those of us that can't get out. Those cozy touches in the loft are wonderful! 💜
Your puppy is adorable you picked out the perfect breed they're very smart I love poodles❤ the cabin is looking so good I liked it from the start it is so pretty at night when you do the Drone shots❤ I enjoyed this video see you in the next one
Get a real dog Dude. lol A nice lab or golden retriever.
@@robertheintz8017 it is a real dog. A Very smart dog
@@donnataylor980 It's ok for a woman who keeps it in a house all day.
That B-roll in the middle was just... oh maaan so magical! Thank you sir!
I use white vinegar and bicarbonate of soda on my oven and hob. Let it sit for 30 minutes, repeat once if necessary. Love your channel!
Jay, Well done sir!!..
I second, the suggestion to remove the bark from the stump table..your cabin will be full of critters once it warms up.
Oh..and wear face and ear protection at all times when using your chainsaw...Stihl makes a mesh face shield with built in hearing protection/muffs...an absolute must Jay!
I logged on to your video that first showed the cabin. The difference between then and what you’ve accomplished now is amazing. You’re doing a great job and I’m betting that there will be even better things to come!
The peace this video brings me is so awesome! Thank you Jay !
My favorite channel on TH-cam. Its so relaxing to watch and your so good natured and never afraid to try to get something done. Keep up the great work
Hello from Ireland. Discovered ( and subscribed) to your channel recently. Your honestly and humour in such harsh climate's makes me smile :)
Great segment Jay! Hope the saw stays dependable, and one suggestion… strip the bark off your log-table and put a layer of sealer on it the ends. Won’t crack this way and it’s a craftsman piece!
Crystal, you are a trooper! Puffy loves being the cabin!
...I obstructed an artery watching "the masterpiece"... Dog was sooo happy to be there... happy all over the place...
Love the channel Jay. I look forward to every new episode. Keep up the great work. Take care x
Cheers Jay and Crystal and puppy for a great video puppy is so cute 😍 👏
Hi there I enjoy your channel.. u may want to try mr clean white eraser😊
Thanks Jay and Crystal another fantastic video and what a lovely energetic dog you have full of energy.
I am really glad to see that you are getting your cabin to how you want it.
Again thank you again
Good morning Jay just thought I'd drop a comment.
So we had a little rat terrier about the size of your dog when we moved from Hawaii to Washington State up near the Colville National forest. She loved being outdoors and stuck around the house outside when we would be working. Every once in a when she heard something she'd go barking at it. So then one day she heard something and went barking up the hill into the trees. It was only maybe 20 ft and all of a sudden The Barking quit and she was gone😢 sometimes little dogs think they're big and it must have been a coyote or a cougar or something like that we also have Bobcats around here. But it only takes one time. So now we have a new puppy 5 years later and it's a little Yorkshire Terrier ❤ this time around we will be keeping this little munchkin close to us and either in her little yard or on a leash. It was heartbreaking to have lost a beautiful friend and a service dog in just 3 seconds.
Oh that’s so sad !
Great video Jay and thank you for taking us with you in your adventures.
Hey Jay, and welcome back Crystal and sweet PUFFY 🐕❤
Heck yeah, Jay and his FAMOUS HOT CHIPPIES 🍟
Good old WHITE VINEGAR should remove those stains on the stove top..
( put on and leave for 15 minutes )
then wipe away,
PUFFY sure Lovin the Cabin..
Stay warm out there GUYS 🐕❤✝️
These videos wipe away the stress of my work day. Thanks Jay.
''I got 12ft lengths here, 2 x10's, 2x8's and 10 pcs of plywood ...and.... a really fast dog'' Cracked me up.🤣..Pup is living his best life !!🤣Love that your pet is now in your videos....Enjoying the cabin reno series...:😄
Keeps getting better and better Jay, good work !!!!!
Thank so much Jay for putting these video's out. Ive been struggling lately with the loss of my mother and your videos are always a great distraction. Im so glad to see Crystal and Puffy. Keep up the great work and im looking forward to the next one!
Another great video Jay. Again thanks for taking me along.
Jay, your videos aren't long enough!! Cheers from Minnesoouuuta!
This is such a generous donation towards more poutine! Thank you so much. Jay
You two got a lot accomplished this trip. The log to be used to place a coffee cup on is a great idea and cute to boot. The puppy is really enjoying the wide-open areas. Looking forward to your progress on the cabin this year. Stay safe!
Jay your cabin reminds me of the simple rustic "camps" that I stayed in when I lived in Northern Maine when I lived up there in my 20S. I am now 73. So many wonderful memories.
I'm hoping to build many memories in this place.
🤙🏻👌🏻👍🏻❤ Hi Jay. LOVE your thumbnail. Look's like a fairy tail pic. Looks unreal. I took a screen shot. You have a fabulous cabin and you are doing a good job in the renovations. Greetings, Sara from South Africa🇿🇦
Great way to start my week with a new video from Jay!
Great video!! Love seeing Crystal and the dog! Be safe!!!
Jay love your videos and enjoy watching. May the lord bless and protect you Jay and working on the cabin
Loved this video! Can't wait to see your additions to the cabin. And if this is a resent video, I can't believe all the snow that you still have.
Thank you for making my morning so much better! Love your videos
Awesome video Jay. That poutine looked amazing!!
I absolutely love watching everything you are doing Jay. So excited when l see your posts. Brilliant 🇬🇧
Great trip. Nice to see Crystal with you and of course the dog. Thanks .
I grew up utilitarian in the north, helped my dad logging, and started 4 successful tree services. Hard to believe a Sthill outdoing a Husqvarna. What happens sometimes is that an operator will put it in the ground, dull the teeth (maybe sharpen improperly), burn the saw up, buy a new saw with a new chain and it RUNS GREAT! lol Sthill have many small, plastic parts that can break in the wilderness and leave you far from the saw shop. But, to each their own.
Is that a lake under that snow? Wonder what kind of fish swim under that ice. Cheers
LOVE your videos with the cabin, Crystal, and Puffy. Keep them coming!!
Hey Jay. Watched you for a couple years and I enjoy your videos.
Enjoy your cabin and don't do too much at once. I lived in a cabin in northern Wisconsin for 3 years with no electricity or running water. I enjoyed it every minute. Take care.
I love that you can stand up in the bedroom. Great video! Thx&see ya😁
another great video Jay your cabin project is coming along nicely have a great week . Man does it look cold there
Hello Jay nice to see everyone was with you your lady and your dog puppy one big happy family
I would try slicing a lemon in half, then using each half to scrub a bit of baking soda on the stains for your cook top. May have to leave on for up to 30 minutes before wiping off with clean wet cloth. Hope it works for you! 😊
Heyy Jay another great video love the dog ,thanks for sharing stay safe
Your Channel is Growing! Almost 200k. Well done.👍🏻🇨🇦
So close!
Your cabin looks more comfortable than most homes.
I want to thank you for your videos and insight. I went glamping this past weekend and made the perfect fire in our pit! Watching your videos helped me so much! Look forward to more!!🤓
Hi Jana. I just want to sincerely thank you for the support. This is very generous, and it will go straight to my coffee fund. Have a great week. Jay
Great to see the puppy. And crystal. God bless
Awesome video, Great Build & I love your dog. Keep up the great work, very therapeutic to watch 🤙
Great Video Jay, you are making great progress very quickly. Great loft area with the railing and bed. Chair and coffee stump really make it a great space. Well done…
I vote Puffy for Best Supporting Actor in a Reality Series.
Ha
Really happy that all of you were in the video. Always wanted you two to make that place happen. The extra addition is wonderful. Because I live with a couple of cattle dogs. I know. They have Dingo. Makes them really loyal but unpredictable. It's always a love or hate relationship with them.
Hi Jay Hi Crystal what an Awesome Amazing Jobs Done ✅ What a Fantastic Awesome Amazing Scenery love the ❤ dog 🐶 😊
Oh yeah it's so nice to see Crystal 👋 👋 👋 👋 it's nice to watch your videos Jay and it nice to see you both 😊
Another fantastic video Jay. You got yourself a great all around chain saw now. Great to see your girlfriend and puppy came to give you a helping hand. You simply can't beat a homemade poutine! Cheers
Love your videos Jay. Try using Easy Off oven cleaner on that stain.
Your.little cabin is.a.beautiful getaway. Great video.
Bonjour monsieur Jay et madame Cristal! Happy Easter! I am always happy when I watch a new video! Salutations from north Québec!
HEY! Good morning Jay , welcome back Crystal and Puffy!
The night scene was so beautiful with the added beauty of the northern lights. Perfect scene.
Well Jay that was a fun video! Love the puppy and a hello to Crystal. My first time meeting her! Oh and I loved that stove for sure!! Till next time!!
I hope that you enjoyed your Easter holiday 🐇🐣I really enjoy your videos and can’t wait until you get back to the tent as well thank you for sharing jay❤
Evening Jay 🇦🇺
Poutine, yes! Others have mentioned plywood leaning could deform the sheets, plus edges in wet snow may separate the veneers.
lol you should have mentioned the fancy supper at the beginning cuz now im hooked.....:)
Your content is getting so good. Lots of improvement in the channel and that is fun to watch. Your handyman skills are growing and you should be proud of that. I love the drone footage at dusk and the background music. Nice touch. Adding Puffy and Crystal is also a welcome addition. Keep it up mate! You’re doing great.
Thank you very much!
Great video Jay, the stove top, you'd be surprised how straight WD40 does miracle, spray, let soak for 15-30 minutes, wipe it out, and clean everything with white vinegar, job done for cheap! Best part of the wd40, is its non-abrasive so it will not ruin the paint. Have a good one!😉
Jay it's looking good ! Yes you have an awesome helper & that puppy goes straight up stairs to the warm bed lol, Hope you get out again before the big thaw "
Canada is exceptionally beautiful. The people kind and friendly. The North West Territories are amazing. Yellowknife is a wonderful place to observe The Northern Lights. If you haven’t visited Canada I highly recommend it .
Really enjoyed watching your video Jay.
It's Monday! Must be Jay time. Thanks for sharing.
I believe Puffy loves the cabin just as much as you do, maybe more lol. He's so adorable 🥰. Crystal picking up that mouse reminds me of helping a friend of mine clean out her fridge when I was around 12 or so. She had one of those fridges that had a big drawer on the bottom. She told me to take it out n sit it on the back porch so I took it out n went to sit it down n my hands n arms started itching.... I looked down n my hands n arms were full of these huge maggots. I had never seen a maggot before. I started screaming like a girl, my friend started cracking up. I probably washed my arms 4 or 5 times😭🤣😭. Loved the video Jay. Tyfs God bless you
cool vids jay, i watch all of them. you kick ass. greetings from the netherlands
I really enjoyed your videos. I live in YK as well so it was nice seeing you out in the bush. It looked so lovely out there. What a warm and sunny day.
How to clean the stove top- spray oven cleaner. Put plastic wrap on top. This will keep the spray stay wet. Let sit for several hours or even overnight. Remove plastic wrap and scrub with Scrub daddy or steel daddy( steel daddy lightly). You can also use a scrapper to remove any spots. Wipe with microfibre cloth. This is Aurakatarina’s cleaning method and I have seen it clean some pretty nasty stove tops. She is a youtuber. Hope this works.
Happy Easter!
That dog is too adorable!!
Love your videos Jay! I'm so excited for you both and happy to be along for this journey with you! For the stove top try oven cleaner or baking soda and vinegar
Thanks Daughter
I worked hard the past two days and hurt a lot.. and hurt watching you pick up all that heavy wood.. good job..
Watching from Vancouver Island 🏝️👍
it nice for you to have others there with you have a real nice day
Great video! Thank you for sharing...
Hey i enjoy your video today. And it was nice to see your honey and your little dog . Anyway stay warm and safe and sound and take care 😊
Jay use threaded eye bolts and a 2x2 runner along the boggin sides for support, could also use.2x4 frame boxes as lift and wood strappings supports
Because you quite often ask for advice it seems like we are doing this as a team. You definitely are #1 in this type of survival videos. Be interesting to see what kind of water supply you have during warmer weather.
Love your vids!
Thank you.
Keep it coming ! Oven cleaner ( like Easy Off) … is about the only thing that might help get that crud off your stove top . Spray and let it soak in for at least 15-20 mins . I’ve used that trick on sheet pans and it definitely helped a lot
Ausome video, your infectious enthusiasm is so uplifting!
Thanks Mark
