Cool list! Highly recommend The Isle of Cats for families. There is a family rule set that has worked wonders with my eight year old. We all have a fun time. I think I might prefer the family rule set myself in fact. It’s a simple tile laying game where you are placing cats on a ship. You try to connect different colored cats to each other but there are also hidden objectives you are trying to score. There’s a couple other simple rules and that’s the game. The full game adds a drafting element to the game, where you draft those hidden objectives. Either way you play it’s loads of fun. Check it out!
The games I have played from your list were definitely hits with non gamers in my family so I definitely plan to use the others to help Santa find some good gifts for my friends and family this year. Thanks so much for the shopping guide!
I gave Floriferous as a holiday gift last year to a friend who is not a gamer at all, but she loves flowers, and she was very excited about it. Great suggestions, Jenna! You make a great Santa!
Such a great list!!! We play Wingspan with my family in law. This year I ask Santa for Boomerang which is a good family game! Hopefully I will get it ☺️
Thanks for the thoughts! I'm really hoping that we will be able to get at least most people around a table to play something this year! Might have to have a few options for different small groups instead of all at once though. Thanks for being Santa!
Great list Jenna! You inspired me to share the board game love with my family which has led to some great bonding moments! We recently played Camel Up and Project L together. Looking forward to sharing some of your suggestions with them as well!
Great list! I have had lots of success playing Barenpark, Dream Home, and Cascadia with family. Looking forward to trying the others on your list. Hope Santa gives you some games on your wish list this year!
Another great video! I'm hoping Santa brings me a game or two and Hadrian's Wall is at the top of my list. Whether he does or not, I'm looking forward to some cozy gaming time.
Great video Jenna! Last year Santa got me tickets to WSBG and it was definitely the best con I have been to and the best gift I have ever received. Hope to see you there next year.
Great first video for The Gifting Garden series! A nice range of games. I'm rly hoping to got ahold of Canvas for my daughter. She enjoys art related things, so this should be a great gift. Tiny Towns is also a wonderful choice for a SANTA gift :)
Great list - thank you! I hope you continue this series. Your channel just popped up as a recommendation today. I've only watched a couple of your videos so far, but the items you like seem to gel well with what I and my family like!
26:46 It looks pretty cool! However, I do not know whether I would call it a “family game”, since there is quite a lot going on in the game. I bought it, and I intend to teach it to my folks and try it, but after I read through the rulebook (or I will just go back and watch the JonGetsGames video again)!
SANTA already got so many boardgames for my family this year, I don't need any more temptations! But thanks so much for these suggestions. I'm really intrigued by Canvas, my middle daughter's an artist.
Hi Jenna! Long time follower here! I think when you get a merch store you should sell a T-Shirt the says “without further ado..” on the back & Boardgame Garden on the front! You crack me up when you say it & you say it in almost every video. I’ve caught myself saying it sometimes now! Haha. Dan, P.S. SANTA!
AHAHAHA! I am definitely in the process of making some TBGG merch (shhhhh.... 😏) and I will add that to the list! 😂 Francis makes fun of me for saying that all the time. And "SHALL WE?" 😂👏🏻
Great recommendations! Santa can skip our place this year because we already have Tiny Towns, but we might have to check out Creature Comforts. I’m always on the lookout for new family games. It looks adorable. We have The River from Days of Wonder as our approachable family worker placer. Floriferous is also a top favorite here that gets out at least once a week. We keep it in a basket in our living room with some other smaller boxed family games that get out at least once a week like Sunset Over Water, Ecosystem, Point Salad, and Kingdomino.
Santa brought the game Caesar's empire earlier this year and it has been a huge hit in our house as a family game. We also really love planet which is Cascadia light, but you make a 3d globe and we Tokaido a lot.
Haven't tried any of those games yet, might have to look into it! Santa got me Fortune & Glory last year. Super fun game, don't know if you ever played it? :)
Hi Jenna, thanks for another great video! I recently bought Hadrian's Wall after you mentioned it on your channel and I absolutely love it! These games also sound great to play with my son. Santa😊
Great video with some awesome suggestions for Christmas. Maybe Santa will recognize that I have been nice this year, and bring me a gift to my Tiny Town.
I own and love two of the games on this list, definitely crowd pleasers with my family. Of the rest, I’m intrigued by Kabuto Sumo, here’s hoping Santa leaves a couple of board games under the tree this year!
Miyabi, Barenpark, Cascadia, and Floriferous are all tops on my list. Literally top 10-25. Amazing games. Creature Comforts is one I still need to get and play but may wait to buy until after I play someone else's copy.
27:00 Not always… I made the mistake of trying to teach Rolling Realms to family - and, of course, I had to stop to explain how all 3 realm cards play before the beginning of every round - and it took forever. Also, it was hard to explain the idea of “imaginary” dice and resources which you are gaining and using in that game.
Santa baby, slip a copy under the tree for me. Been an awful good girl. Santa baby so hurry down the chimney tonight. Santa baby a copy of Tiny Town too. Signed from you. I will wait up for it dear. Santa baby so hurry down the chimney tonight. Think off all the fun I've missed. Think of all the board games on this list. Next year I could be just like you. If you check off my Christmas list. Santa baby I want a copy and really that's not a lot. Been an angel all year. Santa baby so hurry down the chimney tonight. Santa honey one little thing I really do need. A copy of Tiny Towns please! Santa baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight.
So happy to see Yummy Yummy Monster Tummy, Kids Chronicles and Turtle Splash on your list! Can't wait to hear what you and your nieces and nephews think 🙂
I know right! I am loving all these comments! Everyone is so creative! 😂👏🏻 And yay! That makes me so happy! I'm so glad I could introduce you to this amazing community and hobby. 💕
SANTA! Santa's coming [to our Tiny Town]! I know him! Love these recommendations so far Jenna! Some of our family favourites so far have been Draftosaurus, Karuba, and Hey, That's My Fish!
Great list but you should check out habitats that came out with a new edition this year. It absolutely eviscerates and then disembowels cascadia leaving it's rotting carcass to wither away in the sun.
Cool list!

When you try writing a wishlist to Santa but write Satan instead and get Bloodrage instead of Creature Comforts for Christmas...
AHAHAHA! 😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Thanks for the excellent reviews. Looks like I will be revising my gift list for Santa😊.
First time listener, great video! Creature Comforts looks like a good fit for our family. Hopefully Santa brings an extra gift this year!
Oh! I'd love to find this game! It's sold out here in France everywhere!
Great list - some current favourites in there and some others to ask Santa for!!
Such a great list!!! We play Wingspan with my family in law. This year I ask Santa for Boomerang which is a good family game! Hopefully I will get it ☺️
I still need to try lots of these! I don’t have kids, but I’m definitely updating my wishlist for Santa this year 😂
This is a great list! Santa may be bringing some of these to my family this Christmas!
Thanks for the thoughts! I'm really hoping that we will be able to get at least most people around a table to play something this year! Might have to have a few options for different small groups instead of all at once though. Thanks for being Santa!
Thank you so much for this video! I got some great gift ideas for my kiddos. They will be very happy with SANTA this year.

AHHHH! I hope you get Hadrian's Wall! 🥰👏🏻
We are new to board games, but our family of 5 are loving the ones we got and hoping Santa brings some games to enjoy together this Christmas.
Great video Jenna! Last year Santa got me tickets to WSBG and it was definitely the best con I have been to and the best gift I have ever received. Hope to see you there next year.
No way! That is amazing! I am really hoping to be able to join next year! It looked like a great event! 🥰
Great first video for The Gifting Garden series! A nice range of games. I'm rly hoping to got ahold of Canvas for my daughter. She enjoys art related things, so this should be a great gift. Tiny Towns is also a wonderful choice for a SANTA gift :)

Love the recommendations! I just recently got into board gaming and Santa is bringing games for everyone this year haha!
Love love love your spirit and enthusiasm! Hoping that you feel better and that SANTA brings you lots of goodies this year. Merry Christmas!
Great list-several I have never played! Still haven’t played Tiny Towns yet, but look forward to seeing it on the table someday!
Great list!! I'm watching your boardgame recommendations while "working" from home so I can fill in my wish list for Secret Santa 😄
Cant wait to play some of these with my fam! Will get us feeling extra Santa-mental 😆
Thanks for being our BG Santa this year!

Canvas is perfect for her! It is such a wonderful little game! 😊
Creature comforts is indeed a very cosy game. happy Holidays!
Enjoyed the video. You suggested a lot of unique choices for Santa to give out his year. Thanks!

Tiny town would be a great addition to our collection. Santa we have been good all year! 😉 Check your list 2x. Thanks for your videos.
Haven't tried any of those games yet, might have to look into it! Santa got me Fortune & Glory last year. Super fun game, don't know if you ever played it? :)

The Santa in me is giving lots of games to family members this year, hope they're ready!

I own and love two of the games on this list, definitely crowd pleasers with my family. Of the rest, I’m intrigued by Kabuto Sumo, here’s hoping Santa leaves a couple of board games under the tree this year!
Cool video Santa, I mean Jenna! 😂 Creature Comforts is from a Canadian designer I believe. Forsure on my list!
Santa-stic list! I think Meadow would be a good addition to your list. Can't wait to receive the expansion I pre-ordered ages ago!
I actually just treated myself to Meadow today! Can't wait to receive it and play! It's been on my wishlist for so long. 😊👏🏻
Those are great ideas for Santa! My 2022 Santa's list contains Explorers of the North sea and Rocks of Ruin, and Horrified.
Great recommendations! I wish SANTA would bring me Tiny Towns! LOL … we’re giving Akropolis this holiday - big hit with the fam in early plays.
We just played turtle splash. My 4, 6, and 8 year old loved it!
Miyabi, Barenpark, Cascadia, and Floriferous are all tops on my list. Literally top 10-25. Amazing games. Creature Comforts is one I still need to get and play but may wait to buy until after I play someone else's copy.
Our little boy 2 years old just learned the word Santa. We got him his first board game from HABA for Christmas
Great video. Good choices. I hope SANTA is good to you, he might not be good to me. Oh well.
I’d love to have a copy of Tiny Towns to gift in a Secret Santa event (I already have a copy of this great game).
Dear Santa, Tiny Towns would be absolutely great for our Family🎉
Great group of gift ideas, lots i don't see on list. I sure hope Santa will get a few games off my list this year.
Any game which Santa brings from BoardGameTables (BGT) has interesting mechanisms and is a “family” game! 😀
I totally agree! They have amazing family games! 😊👏🏻
My kids love Santa almost as much as I want to play Tiny Towns!
Hopefully Santa will bring us new boardgames for x - mas! Great video!
I am so excited for this series! I always love your suggestions ❤

Santa! Thanks for the giveaway. I'm very intrigued by Wok and Roll and think I will pick up a copy.
Great suggestions! Hopefully Santa will hook me up this year!
My pick in this category would be Horrified. It's a fantastic family-weight co-op with an approachable theme.
LOVE Horrified! I totally agree it is another great family game! Co-op games are great as well for introducing people to games. 😊👍🏻
So happy to see Yummy Yummy Monster Tummy, Kids Chronicles and Turtle Splash on your list! Can't wait to hear what you and your nieces and nephews think 🙂
Can't wait to play with them! I also included Tidal Blades Banner Festival! We played it a few times this week and really enjoyed it! 🥰

I hope Santa is coming to my town with Tiny Towns!
Santa loves your list! Well done!

I would really like Tiny Towns for Christmas Santa!
Quest for the Moonstones is amazing! My son loves it, I found it entertaining too. ;)
Merry Christmas Santa
My toddlers favourite game is zombie dice
Santa is wondering how to fit Cascadia into my wife’s stocking. I’m sure it will involve some kind of christmas magic.
merry christmas santa from the KW :)
one family friendly suggestion to add would be mysterium from the makers of dixit
Love those recommendations! 👏🏻
I will pass your recommendations on to Santa. Thanks! - Dutiful Elf
Watching this episode with The virus that shall not be named.. Thanks for making it just a little better❤ Greetings from Denmark
Dear Santa, I think I been good this year. I wish for Tiny Towns board game for Christmas 😊
Great list, a few Santa favorites on it.
Hello Santa(Jenna), Tiny Towns would be great for our Family🎉
Great list but you should check out habitats that came out with a new edition this year. It absolutely eviscerates and then disembowels cascadia leaving it's rotting carcass to wither away in the sun.
OHHH Habitats was one that I saw on Kickstarter and it looks great! All the animal meeples! LOL! Thanks for watching!
@@TheBoardGameGarden avoid the animal meeples if you get it. They are fiddly and unnecessary.
Will have to suggest some of those to Santa this year.
Love this series! Santa is 👍🏽
Great list! Santa came early and delivered my crokinole board!
OHHH! Nice!!! 😊👏🏻
Tiny towns is a game I have always wanted to play but can't. No board game cafes in my area. Maybe Santa will be kind this year.
Santa was good to me..a gift finding your channel!
AWH! So happy to have you! Welcome to the garden Suzanne! 🥰
