- The action takes place in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, a city with two faces: the bustling, noisy, crowded, native quarters or City Side and the quiet, orderly Civil Lines, with residential bungalows in large compounds full of trees and flowers. We see aspects of life in both parts of the city, then we take our places to witness the great Hindu festival of Dussehra. Finally we attend a Music Conference and see excerpts from performances by Manna Dey, Kumud Chugani and Gopi Krishna.

The arrogant narration of this video completely tells about how Western thought India will be after independence. How things have been changed now, now we are witnessing how Western are falling and how we are shining
blinded by godi media......try to accept the reality..

Bro! It's Obvious The Narrator HATES The Colonisers And Rightly So. I Respect Him For His Justified Rage & Unchecked Contempt He Showcases Against The Europeans. True Scot-free Scot! 😂

Born in Allahabad, studied in the Protestant school, was in the mass in the church, played football in Alfred park , living in Civil Lines and go to shop in chowk. Loving to see my city of the past
We need to watch more old videos of Allahabad❤
I have lived in Allahabad most part of my life. It is a truly vibrant city
Watching from Allahabad ❤
I was born in allahabad in 2001 and I am very shocked to see that it was so much developed back then.
This much vibrancy on streets is more or less similar to that of today's.
Most of the parts are almost identical, nothing much changed.
This shows that development hasn't took plac at required pace here.
Cast politics has lead to favourism of one or more divisions of society and little attention was given to infrastructural development.
Pleased to see the amount of cultural events happening in those times which is missing nowadays The only exception is kumbh mela which became bigger and bigger over days.
The amount of culture shown in this video in just one city is not present now at all. That's the actual greatness we have lost. Imagine Manna Dey performing in Allahabad.. Wow wow wow 😍😍
Footages are really clear and full of life, but the narrator is very rude and informal.
Thank you sir..
You have given me such a vibrant old taste of my city❤

Allahabad neglected by Indian bureaucrats-illiterate politicians. Beautiful planned european area now a concrete jungle with dirt-garbage thrown everywhere with no planning !
India is for Indians ❤
I'm from Mirzapur , neighbouring of Prayagraj. But I think prayagraj was more clean those days than today. I have lived in gaughat. It was so dirty that I usually didn't get out from room for half a month
A city wasted and neglected since the beginning of the 1990s. Had the ruling state governments and the central government of India taken good care of this once a prosperous and well cultured and well educated city, it would have been like today's Pune or Bangalore or Hyderabad. Lucknow, Kanpur and Allahabad could have been like Bangalore, Hyderabad and Pune of the North India.
Absolutely spoken the truth.
Lucknow and even Kanpur is far better than Allahabad of today. Lucknow has the potential to become Hyderabad of the north.
@@AyushSingh-mr5cs Yes today Lucknow and Kanpur are better than Prayagraj. They were better than Prayagraj even in the Past. I think you did not understand at all what I meant.
I am from allahabad, thanks for the video. ❤
A "static" city . Still it's unfading flavour . A deep mysterious city .

My city, my love✨
Nowadays Civil Line is a commercial place
Just wow.
Great
The narration shows the western mindset
It's so funny to listen the british saying absolutely wrong things with absolute confidence 😂

I don't think it from 1968,i think it from 1985 later
Why so
Loved this beautiful documentry ❤
It's a pity how allahabad has lost its culture
ALLAHABAD ❤❤❤❤
"Poor and uneducated Indians" not at all, Narrator was a patient of biased and colonial mindset, He is showing the views of Westerner's for Indian's, after looting 45Trillion$ from India.
Dear Narrator, If you are still alive kindly visit INDIA🇮🇳 specially Prayagraj(Allahabad) things are completely changed and beauty of this city is more mesmerizing than your some British cities.
We are in 2024 our INDIA🇮🇳 is rising and your Great Britain🇬🇧 is ruling by a Man from Indian origin, name, Mr.Rishi Sunak (Prime Minister of United Kingdom🇬🇧), and lastly this video will be nostalgic amoung natives of Prayagraj(Allahabad).
now in toaday we can say poor Britishers...

Whatever it is but atleast we got to see the glimpses back to 1968. Amazing to see how we have transformed ourself after British left India.
We have built India back again. And this couldn't have been possible without education. Education shaped us what we are today. He gave to be grateful to our leaders who build some prestigious institutes.
British have left nothing for us to grow. It was Education which brought Indians on the world map.
'Jungle is beginning to reclaim it' this bloody narrator has no sense that what word should be used....
Its not 1968
How can you say any proofs

The Golden Period of India
The country side graveyard still is there and i used to go there to fetch milk from a small family of milkmen who used to live there.
I have seen all those graves and was amazed to see that most of them had died of common diseases that are still pervelent and we Indians to a certain extent are immune from them.
Where is allahabad?😜
Prayagraj! 🙏😏
@vengeance5020 uttar Pradesh India
The narrator is not impressed but jealous of India and Indians . He is vulgar in describing our God Hanuman and various others , this is why Western nations are facing karma today , they thought their superiority will stay always but their D-day is ahead, Shakti is coming back to indian after moving all across the gobe
Narrator clearly knows nothing about Allahabad, he's just telling his interpretation of things which are mostly incorrect.
