  • Body Double® SILK is a self-releasing lifecasting platinum-cure silicone rubber that can be applied directly to the skin to make face and head molds, hand molds, or molding other body parts. The rubber cures quickly and will reproduce excellent detail from any original model.
    www.smooth-on.c...
    Body Double® SILK will release from hair-covered skin surfaces (closely cropped beards, moustaches, eye-brows, pubic hair, etc.). Release cream or Hyperfolic are not needed when using Body Double® SILK. Body Double® SILK will last for many castings of almost any material including plaster, Matrix® Neo®, wax, resins (Smooth-Cast urethanes, polyester, etc.)

    How much do you need to do a face cast? Is a gallon enough?

      Eric Cajiuat I bought the 1.7lb kit of the Body Double Silk today and used it to cast my boyfriend's face (strictly the front of his face, I didn't do his entire head) and I actually had some left over! So I had plenty with the 1.7lb kit. But that's only if you meant the front of the face.
      Hope I helped! :)

      Eric Cajiuat Smooth-On offers a chart on how much material you will need for life casting. I would start there: www.smooth-on.com/index.php?cPath=1372

    Smooth on, your prices could be MUCH less. Many are buying from more affordable sources.

      Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. We understand that affordability is a top priority for many, and we're constantly working to find ways to provide the best value for our customers.

    • @mikeekim2532
      @mikeekim2532 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We understand how awful the times are financially, which is why we have switched to far more affordable suppliers.
      And we were one of your larger accounts.
      The material is out there in the same qualities and it is more affordable.
      Instead of hiking prices on your customers it is well past time to convert over to trying to keep them with better prices.
      Other suppliers are a 5 minute search away.
      Adapt or continue to hike prices and lose your base.@@smoothon
