Cute - I do #3 a lot - especially when I forget a hair band when needed - but what I do is take #3 and do the first tie down and then take the rest of hair and fold up and over and into the tie down - it will look like a bun without the hair net... - it will feel kinds tight at first but it looks cute...
+YolForev3r just buy or make some of your own c(x It isn't really that hard, especially if you can make them out of yarn, after you make them all you need to do is braid them into your hair, and just like that you have "dreadlocks" :P

i'd love dreads but my parents would neeever let me. i've seen other people with dreads do a lower bun by taking their dreads into 2 sections and wrapping them around each other, then securing with a few dreadlocks at the top. i'm awful at explaining things oops

yeah, it depends on the thickness of your haor and the thickness of your dreads
how long does it take until they are mature and looking good haha. I have had mine for 3 weeks and they are still looking very small and frizzy
maybe a year or two?
for me it was 3-6 months before the frizz started to go down
