I haven't laughed out loud at a modelling video in a long time - and not because of the screw ups. Its refreshing to see a you-tuber show his screw ups and remind everyone that they are mortal too
As a humor oriented TH-cam kit model video maker myself I salute your impressive skills at both comedy and model building. I shall recommend your channel to the gloo trooper army from my channel. Kudos, Max.
Finally, a model channel for what I ACTUALLY end up feeling like mid-build, losing patience with everything else from the day before thinking I'll have a nice relaxing session. But I was wrong.
I cut out a lot of footage since I was rushing to get my first video out, so the magnitude of my fuck ups on this build isn’t done justice by the video if you can believe that 💀
Small suggestion. Avoid using red borders on thumbnails as it makes the video appear to have been previously viewed by the user when displayed in search results.
I’m so done with channels that build models with just music and no talking. Finally someone funny building models. Would like to see some different models like uboats, planes, tanks and so on as well
I have no idea how this channel appeared in my feed a few weeks back, but I absolutely love the whole ethos about it. The commentary is frikkin' hilarious and made me giggle quite a few times. 11/10 mate!
Mate, I found you through your Bismarck video but big kudos for your editing skills and sense of humor throughout your videos. As a fellow hobbyist, I'll definitely stick around. Also, you give too little credit to yourself, you're doing quite a decent job.
I just love your channel. Plasmo´s David makes me feel small, cack handed, stuporous and ugly, you restore faith again. After all we all are only human. Thank you so much for the enlightenment.
Love the build and commentary. Tip: I HATE Tamiya putty, and would suggest you try Perfect Plastic Putty. The main merit of the latter is: it's WATER SOLUBLE. So it's fast drying and easy to clean up or even wash away, if you f*** up or just want to wash it off your hands. It's 10,000 times better than any oil-based putty.
I hate to say this but I noticed one other thing but i don't think its your fault. The Washington is the only battleship with alternate stacks one slanted back and one forward. My dad was on BB-56 for her whole wartime service. It was one of the many stories we were told about , her unique silhouette at night. love your channel.
4:07 My heart skipped a beat right there (and I laughed a bit because the slow mo was funny), I made 1 model in my life, and only recently, a small Revell T-34, and it happened to me quite a bit By the way as a (very bad) beginner in modelling, I feel like if you made a little "beginner guide" style of video, it would help a lot of beginners like me
I've always wanted to do the 3 battleships that fought the last vs of the war. Washington and North Dakota vs Kirishima. I prefer 350th but no one does a washington in that scale and the ND is a late war version. The fight was off Guadalcanal. One of the craziest things to happen was a US destroyer moving in so close to the Kirishima that the IJN guns could aim lower to hit the destroyer. It bracketed the IJN and wrecked all kinds of superstructure. And did it at night.
And btw, I watched all of your videos like 4000 times… so I think I deserve a revenue share 😂😂😂😂😂. Never laughed so hard in my life. Pure gold. Although I have to say, in all honestly, your previous videos were a bit better. It might have been your softer tone in this video though..
Dude.... You are a Madman... I liked listening to you talk Crazy Big Shit more than watching the build.. One thing is for sure , watching your channel isn't boring. 👍 And your model turned out pretty good.🤮 -😂🤣
I hardly use putty anymore. I fill gaps with stretched spruce or even thin slices of plastic card in ten or twenty thou. Main benefit is that you are filling plastic with plastic and don’t have to worry about putty shrinking for 5 years.
You don't know yet, but using airbrush instead of spray is VERY different for priming. One of the two scratches waaaaaay easier than the other, and that's why you don't prime with airbrush
I inherited this kit, partially built, from a deceased neighbors estate...ugh, I don't think it's salvageable....any suggestions? Maybe a Manga space battlecruiser?? A Frankenship ?
Still laughing. Yeah, that green is something, but she doesn't look too shabby at all otherwise. I have the 1/700 USS West Virginia BB-48 1945 from Trumpeter. It's mighty small and sits on the shelf as its micro-ness intimidates me. After watching your builds though, I think I'll pull it off of the shelf and give it a good look. Great video, well done! Thanks.
Oil Paint?...Calm down Bob Ross!!. If you had returned just a few days earlier, 10 days, maybe 12 depending on the weather and yer good...but 14 days is just tooo long. Never mind, as consolation you are a demon with that air brush!!
Give yourself more credit. Q. Are you going for effect, or historical accuracy? IRT the latter (i.e.): a nuclear powered aircraft carrier, after a 4-6 month deployment; looks like a rust-bucket; so, imagine, a warship' appearance during WW2, under the same conditions; but, worse. 2. I sympathize, I too, IRT PEp: there's such a thing as too much detail; specifically (2) things: a. 1/700 scale halyards/ratlines/aerials/antenna/etc.; to be accurate, their thicknesses would be like spider web. b. Finishing & Detailing: to scale, one wouldn't notice panel separation (exempt 1/32+); and, even then, they'd be nothing more than a very thin pencil line. And, the only time, an aircraft looks as good as some of the expert hobbyist' depict them is within hours of their production; if kept in a dust-free hanger; and, never flown.
The real question in my mind is: Why are you wearing gloves? To avoid procreation? Prophylaxis against disease? Plausible deniability that you made any of these models? General neurosis? Because gloves make you strong? (As any kid can tell you.). If it's the last, I beg to differ. Building models with gloves is like safe-cracking with your feet.
I haven't laughed out loud at a modelling video in a long time - and not because of the screw ups. Its refreshing to see a you-tuber show his screw ups and remind everyone that they are mortal too
Finally, a model channel made for us zoomers
💯
Man I’m old and I’m loving it.
man, remind me so much during 2020 covid, where we attend class using zoom 😂

Great recommendation, Max! HI-LARE-E-US!!!
Finally, a model channel for what I ACTUALLY end up feeling like mid-build, losing patience with everything else from the day before thinking I'll have a nice relaxing session. But I was wrong.
Your channel should be called: “honest modelism, no bullshitness” 😂
I cut out a lot of footage since I was rushing to get my first video out, so the magnitude of my fuck ups on this build isn’t done justice by the video if you can believe that 💀
@@BoxmanBuilds hahaha I believe you!
This is hands down the best moddling channel out there. Thank you
And we ain;t gonna meddle with the moddle.
Best modeling channel on TH-cam.
If you cut your parts out over a dark towel they don't bounce and are easy to find.
Nice work!
Oh my god this is THE most useful piece of advice I’ve ever gotten from the comment section! Thank you!
Loved the Bismark sneaking into the back at the end.
Small suggestion. Avoid using red borders on thumbnails as it makes the video appear to have been previously viewed by the user when displayed in search results.
I haven't had this much fun watching a build video I don't think ever! Great build and video!
I’m so done with channels that build models with just music and no talking. Finally someone funny building models. Would like to see some different models like uboats, planes, tanks and so on as well
I mean, this is an AI voice, so technically there's still nobody speaking.
@@oBCHANo Bet you're fun at parties.
@@Markell1991 Says the guy who I'm sure was tricked by an AI voice and then likes your own comment, lmao. You've never even been invited to a party.

2:54 boxman is of african american descent confirmed
The second video I watch of yours🎉
Keep it going...this is satisfying and funny

Gold.

I've binged a lot of your content and love your approach and attitude. Keep up the great work.
Aight, time for my monthly boxman videos binge 👌
I just watched your Bismark video.I really enjoy watching your vids, the sarcastic humor you narrate in your videos!!!!
This is the modeling channel we've been waiting for

Eureka! We have found the antidote! An apprentice Plasmo but he reads Schopenauer and Kierkergaard. Subbed.

You inspired me to get back into modelling. I'm making the Airfix Mary Rose at the moment. And I've really enjoyed it
Looks a hell-of-a-lot better than anything I've built! Next time leave the algae off!
Boosting for the algorithm 🙌 Love your work, keep it up! 🌻🐝

South Dakota. I had an Uncle aboard her during that fight.
The Laffey almost rammed Hiei, not Kirishima
Brilliant entertaining and instructional again thank you sir.
Hello boxman, even your f-ups are awesome and you are very funny, thanks for making us laugh and teaching us how to improve
4:10 so relatable.
This is pure gold ❤
My god !! we need more video like this !!
I like the music. :)
This is the formula I wished more model TH-camrs used for their vide
Thanks for the entertaining video, laughed my ass off all the way through.
damn that cowbell went hard
What a great Humor 😂 love it.
I need the name of the sound in the background please. ...😅
The songs I used in this vid were 13 ounce OKAY and Randy Butternubs
@@BoxmanBuilds Thank you
Sounds like a parody of Fischerspooner. Perfect fit for the vid.
Great stuff, just as it is when building a model ship. I've made all these mistakes and more. 😂
Glad to know I’m not alone 👽

Ouch.
02:42 Thats why you atach them after painting... also get a wooden deck you won't have to mask, this unlike pe makes things easier not harder.
I got a model of the USS Missouri from a decent brand and it has the fire directors and the main turrets point at the same direction

Stretched sprue.
I actually finished this build last week but i didnt paint it. Is it too late to paint if everything is already glued in?
crazy how your voice changed.. I remember my first model, I just didn't put it on TH-cam. lol

Dear box man you are becoming my favourite You tuber errrr
all too familiar with delicious tamiya solvents.
"Once the putty is 75 percent dry because I didn't want to wait."

Great video, however one can only listen to a cowbell for so long before beginning to question their sanity
Still better than my builds
I like purple 💜
What cement do u use?
Yo Boxman why dont you paint the small bits in the sprues?? It saves the 2700 masking tape bits later....

Thank you! I built Trumpeter’s 1/700 Tennessee a few years back, which shares the same sprues as the West Virginia. It’s a really nice kit, have fun!

Why the gloves during the assembly?
Bro, I think it’s time you find the right thinner for your primer 😂😂😂
... Why don't you paint the deck before you put it on?

Why not just repaint the hull?

Why don't you just add the deck fixtures *after* you paint the deck? That way, less masking.
