If you are making #facemasks #surgicalmasks and do not have enough elastic use t-shirt ties instead. #diymasks

Michelle PAGANINI I’ve done this already...works great. Love the idea to use as a closure... I had removed all the buttons from a jacket recently and was on the lookout for new buttons.... your idea is going to look awesome. Thank you. Stay safe from Winnipeg Manitoba Canada.

Love your kimono. I made one from a scarf and it needs a closure as well. Will try this. Thanks!

    Thank you, Michelle!
I'm going to try this today with my first mask.
Using this long cord, no elastic, no sewn pleats fabric.
It looks like the design is snug to the cheeks. We'll see!
I've been sharing your video alot on mask groups

@@mariasmith9998 this is very similar. You would make it a bit shorter. paganoonoo.etsy.com/listing/1054656527

If you cut in a shallow SPIRAL from the bottom -- that is, cut slanting very slightly upward so you overlap & just keep going -- you can get one long cord (if your shirt has no side seams)....

PS. Have you gotten any feedback re a good starting width for the mask cord? i.e. any suggestions for a little wider than 1/2 inch? I'm wondering if wider might mean sturdier, hold up to multiple washings, and still well functioning?
