I like how you kept in the footage when it wasn't working, where you decided you needed to pin it instead, and then the comparison of before pinning and after pinning, rather than just restarting the project.

The hanger cover is beautiful and so practical! Even today's youth use hangers (going by what I see in young TH-cam videos). Although I also like the shoe bag and shawl cover, I feel like those would get stuck in a drawer and not used much at my house.

I know you made this video several years ago so I’m able to confess………yes I do this . I make up “just in case” kits of necessary equipment then forget to unpack it . This is the reason why I have multiple examples of my favourite size knitting needles. I also have my “ handbag (purse) socks “ which I grab if I know I’m in for a boring wait somewhere………I’ve been knitting them for several years- incomplete socks on ( missing) needles/ crochet hook and anything else I might need but tiny. Thank you for letting me know I’m not the only one. Kind regards

I found some beautiful hand embroidered pillowcases in my mothers linen closet. They were gold with age, and had the greasy stain from a head that slept there. I couldn’t bare to discard them, so I put them in some laundry stain remover. It was the one where he puts gold lace in, and it came out snow white. Mine came out with no difference. I let it soak overnight. It was better. I let it soak for a total of three days. Every stain was gone. 😊

I found a great overcoat for my son at a thrift store. The previous owner had shortened the sleeves by tacking them up; I thought they just had short arms. Turns out they had ironed a hole into the sleeve cuff about two inches up on one arm. He needs that length so I can’t just re tack it back up. I would really like to be able to make it wearable for him and found some fabric that is close to the lining. The coat is all cotton duck type fabric except for the lining. This video is helping me wrap my mind around how to make this happen! Any other tips that you could give would be awesome! Have you ever done something like that?

Always happy to see another farmer in the comments :) If it is dryness you are struggling with, my husband bought me some O'Keefe's and it works beautifully (not affiliated, just a happy customer). It is like it forms a coating on the skin to help heal rather than just feeling like other lotions. I've also heard of people using udder balm, although I have not tried that myself.

I love this idea! Some of these women from the past have put in so many hours of work into these pieces, and it’s a shame when someone simply throws these pieces away because it “doesn’t match their taste”. Repurposing these pieces still put them into good use, and the labor that the women put into original pieces is still honored. When I was younger, I remember taking some of the doilies that my paternal grandmother made and turned them into gowns for my Barbie dolls. My mother was originally upset that I did that, but I told her that she was just keeping them in the cedar chest and not using them, so I made them into something that can be used.
