Most of Sadhana's movies were blockbusters n' Babita never had that kinda fame even after Sadhana's career was curtailed due to her unfortunate illness. Sadhana may not have had children but sometimes children can be a source of unhappiness too. I don't believe it was Babita's curse but Sadhana's illness that came in the way of her having kids. Babita misguided Karishma when she was about to tie the knot with Abhishek n' just 'coz of her lust of money she got her married off to an unreliable n' emotionally unavailable guy. All in all she ultimately became a source of grief for her own daughter n' even her grandchildren. Moreover, just being married n ' having kids isn't enough as Babita herself had an unsuccessful marriage. There can be no bigger curse than all this. It's one thing not to have anything but to have it all n' then lose it is a bigger calamity. But unfortunately some people never learn.
Sadhna was a very decent lady. As urchins, during 1968 (if I remember right) we gate crashed into the Filmistan studios in Goregaon. She was shooting for Ek Phool Do Maali with Balraj Sahni. We were surprised to see her smiling and lovingly said hi -hello to us.

Sadhna and Babita, absolutely no comparison whatsoever. Sadhna ruled the roost for many years with her beauty and classic films. I first saw Sadhna in Love in Simla and Ek Musafir Ek Haseena both with Joy Mukerjee followed by Parakh, Hum Dono, Mera Saaya, Woh Kaun Thi, Ek Phool Do Mali and Mere Mehboob. Unfortunately, I have not seen any of her films made after the 1970s as I had migrated. Every one of her movies had some of the most melodious and evergren songs picturised on her, all of which have stood the test of time and are still remembered today. Mere Meheboob, Arzoo and countless other movies. The movies we saw as young college students had more depth and meaning and less of body exposure.

Sadhna and Babita, absolutely no comparison whatsoever. Sadhna ruled the roost for many years with her beauty and classic films. I first saw Sadhna in Love in Simla and Ek Musafir Ek Haseena both with Joy Mukerjee followed by Parakh, Hum Dono, Mera Saaya, Woh Kaun Thi, Ek Phool Do Mali and Mere Mehboob. Unfortunately, I have not seen any of her films made after the 1970s as I had migrated. Every one of her movies had some of the most melodious and evergren songs picturised on her, all of which have stood the test of time and are still remembered today. May her soul rest in everlasting peace.

A great video, indeed. Sadhana ji was a lady of good character. Despite being very beautiful and sexy, there was never a scandal about her or any rumour of an affair with any actor. She loved director R. K. Nayyar sahab and got married to him. It was very evident in Babita's films that she copied Sadhana to the hilt. Babita copied Sadhana's look, her hairstyle and her movements, but she couldn't copy Sadhana's lovely, soft voice and clear diction ! Sadhana was considered a much more superior actress than her cousin and she did many classic films. May her soul rest in peace.

As for Babita, I have never liked her or her movies. She comes across as pompous, selfish, spiteful and an arrogant woman. Now I can see why I got those vibes from Babita. If she gave a "shraap" to her cousin then she suffered too, cos she got a divorce from Dabboo and God gave her no son which is considered quite unfortunate in India.
Babita could never match Sadhana in looks or in acting. Sadhana was a million times better than her.
