    I don't read the manual because it's hundreds of pages long. I count on people like you to read it for me and post on TH-cam. Thank you for doing the work for me.

      Yes...the owner's manual for my 2019 Escape is literally over 500 pages. That said, I do look it over when I want to know something. I find downloading the pdf version online is better because then I can search the whole document by key word.
      But I also know there is quality content by folks like FBM and Fordtechmakuloco on these subjects who make great content. Personally, I prefer to go to their channels and search on the topic because it's faster, easier, and to be honest...FBM and others give excellent information that makes it clear for anyone to understand (and also provide information you won't find in any manual). Videos like this are a treasure trove of knowledge...and it gets THEM views which is a source of their income..so it's a win-win for both TH-camr and Subscriber. I like FBM but in videos like this, he comes off like he's chastising his subscribers...I don't care for that style, TBH.

    I have a 2020 Transit Connect. It has given me message to either start it or shut it off to save the battery. No one knew what it was all about. Finally the GPS & radio just locked up....wouldn't turn on or off. I had heard horror stories of "buy a new battery". Went looking for batteries and how to change them. Then I heard about BMS for Fords on youtube.....then lights started turning on in my head and I immediately found your Easiest BMS Reset . WHAM BAM!! in seconds I did the 5 hi flash and 3 brake light flash...FIXED!!! If it comes back, I'll look into a new battery but probably not for a while..I have had good luck with Motorcraft batteries in the past Thanks again!

      YUP! You got it right. Did the reset...easy. Within a week the messages were back. Bought a new battery (Duracell) at Sam's Club...waaaaay cheaper than anywhere else. Install was pretty easy, but needed a strong young son to slide it in place...it's a damn heavy battery...I actually think it was incorrectly priced. Oh...also, the Transit Connect is european manufacture. No mention at all about BMS reset, battery or anything in the pitiful owner's manual compared to Escape and other Ford products.

      Ford vehicles since 1999 have BMS (battery monitoring system) if you replace the battery with a new one, then the system needs to know. The method this chap has just shown you is for vehicles without a fog lamp button, if it has one then you need to switch the ignition on (engine off) position and within 10 seconds press the fog light button 5 times then the hazard light switch 3times, once again within 15 seconds the battery charge indicator should blink 3 times, then your battery age monitor will reset to zero.

    I just replaced the battery on my 2011 F150. It was a Costco one, still just within the 48month warranty, so got original price refunded, which was nice. My vehicle has the Hall effect BMS sensor, around the negative cable just before the negative battery terminal, not the microprocessor one attached right at the terminal, and the flash lights, press brake pedal didn't work, perhaps it only works for the microprocessor sensors? Also, I read the manual, and in addition to the 8 hour sleep time thing to reset the BMS it has recommendations for a procedure to have the engine relearn its idle and fuel trim strategy after the battery is disconnected. Another good reason to read the manual I guess!

    • @FordBossMe
      @FordBossMe  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Exactly I've replied to this so many times it's like I can't even reply anymore because I've repeated it so many times in the comment section of all these videos that if you don't have the sensor that's directly attached to the negative cable you don't have a BMS reset procedure so on yours it won't work on yours

    I have a 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid. The car is going into power saver mode constantly and I cannot unlock by the touch unlock mode on the passenger door nor can I remote start it with the FOB. The auxiliary battery slowly looses charge and I have had to have it replaced once. On the discussion board for 2020+ Escape Hybrids this seems to be a theme. I have had it in to various Ford shops. They check the battery, recharge the battery, and tell me they cannot find anything wrong. One visit they replaced the FOB battery but that did not help. I went round and round on the last visit because a new check engine light came on after I made the appointment and no matter what I told the repair liaison he was convinced the check engine light was preventing the remote start. The light issue was resolved and it still does not unlock the passenger door by touch and does not remote start. Some of the people sharing claim that when the aux. battery goes down it won't start but in the manual it says this battery has nothing to do with the engine start and operation (my hybrid you don't even "start" it you just turn it on). I have been to 5 different dealers with 9 or 10 visits and it still is not fixed. The other frustrating part is I cannot find a way to even check the battery to see if it is charging or its health like I can for the hybrid battery.

    • @TimGrillot
      @TimGrillot 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A few owners claimed to have solved the problem by putting in bigger batteries. I cannot wrap my head around this. If the little battery isn't charging right how will it charge the bigger battery? My guess it works better because the bigger battery is stronger and takes longer to die.

    I've got a 2013 Ford F150 XLT SUPERCREW 5.0L 4×4 &I did this reset yesterday but I noticed that I didn't see a battery light. I don't think I've got 1 so how do I know if the reset worked or not? See I've got a small audio setup with some lithium but it seems like this smart charging system Ford has is screwing with my charging volts. Sometimes it's charging between 14-14.4 mostly 14 volts but then it starts showing in the 13s like 13.3-13.8 volts. My alternator is fine it's this damn charging system so is there a way to get around this? I've seen that you can turn it off with something called FORSCAN but I don't have this tool or even know about it. Just looking for some advice or input and I'd appreciate any feedback! Thanks

    • @FordBossMe
      @FordBossMe  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's because you don't have a battery monitor reset on yours you have a battery monitoring system but you don't have a reset their needs to be a negative cable connection on the actual post that connects to the battery itself there should be a sensor there and on your truck you don't have that I was very clear that vehicles that don't have the sensor on the negative post you cannot perform or it won't work the same way if you don't have the sensor on the post if you follow your negative cable away from the battery you'll see there's a clamp that goes around it that monitors charging system amperage but it does not reset like the one that has the sensor on the post does

    I have a 2016 Ford Escape Titanium that goes into power save when the weather is too cold or too hot. In very cold or hot weather, I come out continuously to a dead car if I don’t happen to drive it in just one day. If I know I’m not going out all day, I have start it up several times a day just so the battery doesn’t go into a power save and I come out to a dead car when I need to go out. The battery has been changed several times within the last year because we’ were puzzled on why my car is always dead until I started researching on the internet and see other Ford owners have this problem. In fair weather I don’t have a problem but now that we have hit the summer, the battery has power saved on me the last 2 days to which I come out to a dead car.. It cannot go without being started for less than 24 hours at a time or it power saves. AAA jumps are quick because the batter isn’t actually dead. Ford doesn’t seem to know how to fix the problem. Can doing the BMS reset possibly help my issue? PLEASE help…

      Try the bms reset
      Probably going to have to start pulling fuses 1x1 until it stops - maybe start with radio fuse

      I’m not sure what pulling the fuses mean, I’ll have to go to dealer to have this done. I’m kind of stupid when it come to cars lol, does that mean my radio would be disabled?

      My 2013 Titanium does the EXACT same thing!! Did you figure out a fix?
      Mine dies when it's super cold (expected) or super hot .. and if it's cold it could take an hour for my radio etc to even turn on. If it's hot, my radio will shut off "to save battery". It was a brand new battery, tested many times so that wasn't the issue.
      I started replacing fuses last week and now my car has diedddd 3x to the point it won't click, lights all off, key fob won't work etc - and my one window is glitching suddenly lolll I swapped out the battery today after getting stranded but I have a feeling it's more to do with the fuses/accessories draining it 😭

I subsequently learned that the 2012 Mustang does *not* have BMS. So what is the flashing check engine light after running the procedure trying to tell us?

    Ill tell you whats confusing with the push button. You didnt mention to not have your foot on the brake when you push it. Many people dont know how to do key on with the push button setup.

    The manual don't always have that information mine didn't anyway. And none of your methods worked. And what do you do when your start/stop engage while driving at hwy speeds? This should not be happening. My vehicle is a 2018 ford escape. I'm not buying a brand new battery on a 1.5 year old battery just so I can watch it not work and be out another $175 battery.

      I've given you guys the best way to check and you don't listen, the simple answer is no it doesn't. Look at your negative cable and see if you have a electrical connector going to the actual negative cable and that hooked on to the battery and you don't so that means you don't have a battery monitor reset

    Off subject but thot you should be informed .
    In a few days Israelis went through what Palestinians have experienced as a matter of routine for decades, and are still experiencing-military incursions, death, cruelty, slain children, bodies piled up in the road, siege, fear, anxiety over loved ones, captivity, being targets of vengeance, indiscriminate lethal fire at both those involved in the fighting (soldiers) and the uninvolved (civilians), a position of inferiority, destruction of buildings, ruined holidays or celebrations, weakness and helplessness in the face of all-powerful armed men, and searing humiliation.
    The automatic Israeli conclusion, as on previous occasions when its normalcy was shattered a bit, is that if death and destruction haven’t achieved their goal until now, more aerial killings of Palestinians and more destruction and vengeance are the answer. That’s the conclusion of both the government and the army, but also of many Israelis,” wrote Hass. “And it’s also apparently the conclusion reached by Western governments, which raced to voice support for Israel while ignoring Israel’s structural violence and cruelty, and the context of the Palestinian people’s ongoing dispossession from their land.”
