Alright dude, you gotta check out Nemophila official live video for their song Zen. After that, check out their newest video for their song Odyssey. Your head will explode. Lol!
@MetalLensReviews I got drunk over the weekend and accidentally clicked on one of their songs, thinking it was the band Necrophobic. I've been binge watching their reaction videos ever since! Lol. They also do a lot of covers.
The ladies say, “ne-mo-fi-la.” They chose the name for the symbolism of the five petals, and because the letters lent to the creation of a cool Metal logo. They play in many different styles. Their latest, ODYSSEY, is a beautiful 80’s-style power ballad.

Nemophila are great. Rise is not my fav of theirs but it's up there. You are already on to Nemophila, Lovebites and Babymetal. There are so many good Lovebites songs to react to, I would say at least 30, and a pretty good number of Nemophila ones plus Nemophila have a lot of really good covers. To help out with your Japanese women metal rabbit / foxhole you could also checkout some others which might or might not be to your taste. I would go for the following rabbit holes. Each will give you a decent number of songs to react to. - Broken By The Scream - Sayonara Birthday - PassCode - Taking you out - Hanabie - L.C.G - Gacharic Spin - I wish I - Otoboke Beaver - Don't Light My Fire (not metal, but metal adjacent) - Band Maid (not such a big fan myself as there not quite to my taste as the others listed, but still well worth checking out)
NEE - MO - FEE- LA, It's a small blue flower with 5 petals!! Japan has had superb Rock/Metal bands since the 80's. Such as X Japan, Show Ya, Loudness, Luna Sea and many others. One thing, do not try to lock them into a particular genre. Next - "Monsters" live
Why am I the first here. I can write a dissertation, but I will leave room for others. First off you mentioned my three favorite Japanese bands. They are totally different, but exceptional in their own field. So here is a short background. Babymetal - Theatrical Kawaii-Metal (pop-Metal) Lovebites - Generally Power-Metal Nemophila - Generally, Metal-Core, or Thrash-Metal, but exceptionally diverse from Power Ballads to near Death-Metal This video was from a Japanese concert, but I forget which city. They have performed in the USA. In July 2022 at the Whiskey A Go-Go. (First time outside of Japan). October 2022 at the Afrershock festival. Then they toured the USA (March 2023) in Sacramento, San Fransisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Houston, Austin (SXSW), Dallas and New York. The vocalist is Mayu - (formerly Lipstick) Bass guitar- Haraguchi-San - (formerly Holderlins) Drums - Tamu Murata - (most desired session drummer in Japan and generally rated in the top 25 drummers of any genre in the world). Guitars - Hazuki (former band Disqualia) One of the best 7-string guitarists in Japan. Guitar - Saki (formerly of Mary’s Blood and others). Often referred to as Japanese royalty on the 7-string guitar. The eldest, with most internationally experienced, only rivaled by Tamu-San. This is one seriously talented band and perhaps the fastest rising Metal stars on the planet. They are releasing their third album in three years on 17 January. Although they started in 2019, the pandemic interfered. They will join the select group that is invited to perform at the Nippon Budokan on 17 February. That is aL probably the most prestigious venue in Japan hosting the Beatles, at first then only top tier groups by invitation. Note Babymetal has performed there 12 times now, but to the best of my knowledge (I may be incorrect) my next three favorites namely Nemophila, Lovebites, and Band-Maid have not been invited; we’ll until February. Congratulations Nemophila. I’ll come back if needed. Love this band. ❤️🌸
I think that Band-Maid was invited to perform at Budokan in 2020, but C19 struck so they was forced to cancel that gig and all other ones in front of ppl.
@@kent-oveprestberg3578 Perhaps, I honestly don’t know. I love them and they should perform there. However, they have not (to my knowledge) yet Babymetal did 10 shows in 2021 and 2 in 2014’ish. Any artist that gains that notoriety deserves my and everyone’s respect. I hope that Band-Maid will perform there soon, but give credit to a younger band that will.
@@kent-oveprestberg3578 That's true. It was a big blow to them at the time, but they persevered. There are still tee shirts that were made for the show available on auction sites.
Nemophil-a (NOT “Nemophil-i-a) were founded in 2019. They are a supergroup composed of: ex-Mary's Blood guitarist Saki ex-Lipstick vocalist Mayu ex-Disqualia guitarist Hazuki (also plays with Lisa-X) ex-Hölderlins bassist Haraguchi-san, and ex-Soramimi drummer Murata Tamu This is one of the bands to watch, no question. They just started in 2019 and are blowing up fast. As you can see from the gang vocals, they don't take themselves too seriously-Hazuki even winks. They almost seem to be enjoying a private joke, that goes "Hi, we're a bunch of cute, fun girls and we are going to rip your face off, and you are going to like it.” Initially, they were just a side project, co-organized by Mayu with some help from Saki, largely to keep busy in the early days of the pandemic. They started by posting metal covers of well-known rock, pop and metal songs. Then they began posting originals, starting with “Oiran” th-cam.com/video/eyb2NtPwcxc/w-d-xo.html The viral reaction seems to have convinced them they were onto something potentially big, so they’ve been putting a lot more work into it, including some successful live-streams and an appearance at the annual Japanese female rock festival NAONのYAON. They tend toward hard and heavy, but also do ballads and some pop covers. Drummer Murata Tamu took time off to give birth to her son, and on her return, the rest of the bandmembers gave her a welcome back that resulted in an extremely moving moment captured on live stream: “Life” th-cam.com/video/HFnEYhbEAqg/w-d-xo.html After Oiran, others to check include "Dissension", which will fry whatever is left of your circuits: th-cam.com/video/26aMuahxz8c/w-d-xo.html and “Raitei”, which means “Thunder” in Japanese, and yes, they bring the thunder: th-cam.com/video/lh-dVLKP314/w-d-xo.html More recent drops that showcase their intensity and versatility: “Adabana” th-cam.com/video/AxYiOwsu6wU/w-d-xo.html “Style” th-cam.com/video/Aph5GON6rPc/w-d-xo.html (written by their bassist, Haraguchi-san) “Seize the Fate” th-cam.com/video/4tpgLyckVYg/w-d-xo.html “Rise” th-cam.com/video/rD3VMAm-9iA/w-d-xo.html Saki is the only one who had been with a breakout band before (Mary’s Blood); Hazuki and Murata-tamu are also considered elite musicians and have worked with a lot of other top artists. Hara-san is the youngest but is clearly a great talent and has been developing in front of our eyes. She has already written several songs for the group. And of course Mayu is quickly establishing herself as a great metal vocalist. They just toured the U.S. (their second go at performing here): I saw them live and they blew the roof off the place.
The name derives from both Greek AND Latin, actually! "Nemo" is from the Latin for "forest," and "Phila" is from the Greek for "love." There are two very similar words that come from the exact same root - nemophila and nemophilia. The former (with the "i" at the end") is used when you're literally referring to a lover of forests. However, the word nemophila (without the "i" at the end) is specifically the name of a flower and is also the name of the band. So they are Nemophila, not Nemophilia. The flower is a five-petaled blue flower that is native to North America (commonly called "baby blue-eyes") but has become very popular in Japan since it was introduced there. They thought the name was fitting because it has five petals, and the band has five members.
