    That's the way I listen to a lot of music. I listen to the instrumentals, and the vocals, as far as how the vocals sound with the instrumentals. It's the overall presentation, rather than the lyrics, that draw me in. Thanks for introducing me to this band. I will be listening for more.

      I am the same - but as someone who has been following them since their first TH-cam video, you do get used to listening to when Mayu is singing in English. Believe it or not, this one is about 60% English, 40% Japanese. Also, regarding their name, in their Rizing Nemo (yes, that's how they spelled it for the tour) show, which was just released on Blu-Ray and DVD, they discuss how to say their band's name. It's Neh - moh - fee - lah. Nemophila is a 5-petaled blue flower, which is quite common in the US, and is also grown in Japan. It is also the band's logo.

    One of the best metal bands on the planet right now: versatile, technically superb, and with off-the-charts chemistry and charisma. I've seen the live (twice), and they have that "in the presence of greatness" vibe at their live shows. Lightning in a bottle...

    Formed when Mayu needed a backing band for a live session. She called her former classmate Hariguchi-san. The found drummer Tamu Murata, and guitarists Saki ( ex -Mary's Blood), and Hazuki (ex - Disquala). They decided the lineup was too good and decided to form a band. They named it after a flower because the are all female. Love Mayu's screams too, but you've only heard a small taste of them. Tamu has been a , sought after, session drummer. Shredding guitars and rock solid bass, I think you are really going to enjoy this band.
    This song is one of 2 singles released this year , since the last album, Night Flight is the other. For more try "Dissension", or "Oiran", "Revive" , or "Raitei" from the 1st album. Or "Adabana", "Seize the Fate", and "Style" from the 2nd.

    Great reaction! It is awesome to see people discover NEMOPHILA for the first time!
    Once upon a time ago there was a band named DESTROSE helmed by founder, guitarist and composer Captain MINA! Over their eight year (or so) career, a total of 19 official members and a few guest members were a part of that band (MINA being the only constant up until a few months before disbandment in 2015; she took a break due to some health issues; she now has a band called FATE GEAR). The first line-up eventually left and formed MARY'S BLOOD and SAKI came in to fill guitarist ERI's spot (she quit DESTROSE about a year later and once again replaced ERI in MARY'S BLOOD). SAKI has remained in MB until they took a hiatus a couple years ago (all members are doing various solo projects, etc.). But even before the hiatus, SAKI began working with these ladies that eventually became an official band; MB is still on hiatus!
    Guitarist NARUMI was part of the last line-up of DESTROSE with Captain MINA, MIHO and HARUNA (who formed LOVEBITES) and vocalist MARINA HEBIISHI (who later formed MARDELAS), but around the time MINA took a break, a couple members left and a new vocalist and drummer came in (both of which formed DISQUALIA with NARUMI after disbandment; DISQUALIA also recruited HAZUKI on guitar who is the other axe slinger in NEMOPHILA with SAKI!
    Yeah! I like to know about the bands I listen to as well! I'm so far down the rabbit hole of Japanese music...🤩

    Nemophila - "baby blue eyes" flower, "Rurikarakusa" in Japanese; grows in N-America and is appreciated in Japan (see "Hitachi Seaside Park"). "phila" = love..."philia" = attraction towards. Nemophila, one "i".
    The band was formed in 2019, originally as a "session" brought together by...
    Mayu - the vocalist (ex- Lipstick band);
    Haraguchi-san - bass, backing vocals, was Mayu's friend and colleague from Music College (ex - Holderlins band);
    Tamu Murata - drums, backing vocals, one the most respected session musician in Japan (countless bands), with also her own original carrier; she's also the wife of Akira Yamaoka, musician/composer, known especially for his videogames OSTs, in particular for "Silent Hill";
    Saki (ex - "Mary's Blood" band for a decade, and others), she's a "young sacred monster" in J-metal) guitar, backing vocals, and...
    Hazuki (Li-sa-X / KOIAI bands) - guitar, backing vocals; both, Saki and Hazuki have a lot of experience.
    Nemophila made an amazing fandom impression during the pandemic, thru TH-cam clips...so far about 50 Western/Japanese awesomely bonkers covers, and over 30 original freakishly good songs (singles, EPs, 2 albums - "Revive" and "Seize The Faith").
    Discography, alphabetical order:
    01. ADABANA - 徒花 - "Fruitless/seedless flower"
    02. Another Story (ballad)

    14. HYPNOSIS
    15. Life (ballad - their "official anthem")
    16. MONSTERS
    17. Night Flight
    18. now I here (ballad)
    19. OIRAN - "Courtesan" (their first original song, in february 2020)
    20. OSKR
    21. RAITEI - 雷霆 - "Thunder"
    22. REVIVE

    26. Seize the Faith
    27. Soaring ~to be continued~(instrumental)
    28. SORAI - "Autumn wind" (was supposed to be the original name for the band)

    30. - 群青
    31. Waiting for you
    32. ZEN
    ________
    - Another Story... written during the pandemic, with the purpose of lifting the spirit;
    not part of any official release or performed in any concert...
    but - according to Saki - "it's part of 'Yell to Art, Tokyo Project' (started by Tokyo Metropolitan Government to offer place for artists to upload their work...since all lives, concerts, events and exhibitions had been suspended, all venues had been closed";
    was posted on TH-cam, on this channel: アートにエールを!【音楽 1ch】; although is no longer there, there are some reactions to it, just search "NEMOPHILA / AnotherStory".
    - Breaking Out, Creature, Ultramarine... not part of any official release, but they are performed sometimes in the concerts.
    - Blooming...released only on the official Nemophila TH-cam channel, it is performed sometimes in the concerts.
