Absolutely love this band! NEMOPHILA and this song was #1 on my Spotify. Thank you for another great reaction to the awesome ladies of NEMOPHILA! 🎤🎸🥁😎🤘
I'm leaving another one for you, "Adabana" is a great song that I'm sure you will love too. "Change the World" live is another great video, although it leans more towards hard rock than metal, and "Zen" live is especially a hard-core metal song.
Nemophila's music is absolutely _addictive_ , in the positive way. _Happy_ Metal, badly needed nowadays. What a privilege to know their music. Same with "Lovebites", in _my_ everyday life.
I've seen them live once, and can't wait for the next one. Like the other top Japanese bands, they take their craft seriously and clearly work at it to keep getting better. Thanks for coming back to them!
Regarding who does the other scream in the chorus. That’s just backing track. The other members also add vocals but won’t copy Mayu’s scream.. They have always used a vocal backing track for certain chorus sections in live songs. I saw them do this live at Zepp Nagoya in June and Mayu’s Screamo is just so massive. HANABIE played before Nemophila that night and I thought that Yukina was mad loud but Mayu came on and they became Screamo sisters of metal. Both different but both so strong. They sang Zen together and in one section Yukina started the roar and Mayu joined in halfway to extend it. OMG now that was EPIC.
@@yakidin63 Hey, what's a little internal bleeding to a metalhead? ;) I'd love to see that billing happen again someday. I'd likely have to travel south (I live in Sapporo), but SO worth it!
Nemophila, Lovebites, Band Maid, Hanabi, Unliucky Morpheus, Baby Metal, Fate Gear, Maximum The Hormone, Crystal Lake, The Warning, Voice Of Baceprot etc. This is the best rock metal set worldwide.😎
Love Nemophila rocking out or softer side both! this is a great song , live and music video both. Nemophila is a very special band, obviously care about their art, all wonderful musicians ---and apparently close to each other...has to help with the tightness of the music. This band has kicked open the door Band-Maid opened to me awhile back of all the great rock/metal music in Japan, current and past, everyone who has any interest should check out their cover playlist on the official channel, many great bands..my personal favorites, Luna Sea, X Japan and female metal pioneers SHOW-YA!...also how many younger people know T.Rex and 1980 era mTV era Journey? they cover that too! like I said special band, looking forward to placing a second order soon from the official shop for the new CD "Evolve" being released in a week or so!
As pointed out below, while all of the other members sometimes sing backing vox, any non-Mayu fry screams you hear _are_ Mayu...on a backing track. I don't think any of the other members have that vocal style in their toolbox (although it wouldn't surprise me in the least if Tamu did, given how many instruments she plays...quite the musical polymath!). They sometimes us tracks for keyboard parts (usually played by Tamu in the studio) live, too. This is the kind of backing track use I like: to cover off on stuff the band doesn't have the personnel for live (or doesn't want to haul and find stage room for gear used only on a single song). The alternative is to do a different arrangement, and for some songs that just isn't going to work.
Awesome like everything they do. Still waiting for you to get to the real heavy ones like the live versions of Zen which has the best scream backing vocals in history, and Oiran is the bands best guitar work by miles.
As SAKI (lead guitarist) so beautifully said on Herman Lee's Channel - FOR HER, THE HEAVIER THE BETTER. Good thing it's her who writes a majority of tge songs then. Lmao you can't go wrong with HEAVY GUITAR RIFFS. 🎸🎸🎸🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Hey John, I hope you are having an awesome day, or I guess night now. There are some videos floating around on TH-cam where Saki and Hazuki show off their guitars and gear. I can't remember exactly where, but it might have been on the Young Guitar magazine channel or possibly the Ibanez channel. I'm pretty sure both of them play Ibanez 7-strings, if I remember correctly. By the way, Band Maid has an interview on Young Guitar Magazine's channel about the debut of "Unseen World" from early 2021. I may be wrong about the channels, so it might work better if you use the TH-cam search engine to look for them.
Hazuki does indeed play Ibanez guitars and was chosen for the reveal video for one of their new models last year. Saki plays Killer guitars. Killer is a brand founded by Loudness shredder Akira Takasaki and subsequently brought under the ESP umbrella (I hope Akira-san made bank on that!). She has her own KG Fascinator "the Empress" signature model, with the sakura blossom inlays.
I have a few suggestions: 1. Nemophila- Hozuki 2. Rolling Quartz- Fearless 3. Big Iron- Confidence Man 4. Maximum the Hormone- Hungry Pride 5. STMLT- EVOL AI 6. Blood Stain Child- Kamui 7. Band-Maid- Take Me Higher 8. MakeMake- Shadow
SAKI's gear is her Killer Guitars Fascinator 7 "The Empress" and her Marshall Custom Shop "Tattoo" JVM and 1960A cab. The pickups in her guitar are SD Invader in the bridge and (I think) SD Full Shred in the neck. She says the Floyd on her guitar only allows push-down, not pull up. I believe that's the standard Killer setup. That guitar and amp are kind of SAKI's trademarks. Hazuki is an Ibanez artist. I'm pretty sure the guitar she has here is her Ibanez RG8527 Custom. It's the guitar she mostly used on the 'Seize the Fate' album. Hazuki says she has the pickups that came with the guitar: currently that model is listed as having DiMarzio PAF 7 ceramics. (That's odd because my Ibanez 7-string has the same pickups but my playing still sounds like crap. I can't imagine why ...) I'm not sure what amps Hazuki uses but she certainly seems to use Kemper a lot.
To add to that exhalent description both ladies no there effects inside out and have extensive peddle boards Saki has a small studio space at home very impressive i have seen her and Hazuki do a peddle tech review from there .I have the Seymore Duncan pickups saki uses in my own made by me 7 string and i can confirm that there superb i can get a great sound but they dont make me play like Saki LOL shame
All of them do backing vocals. Usually it's Saiki and Tamu on non-gang b/u vocals, but all four sing in the gang vocals, and Haraguchi-san even does some lead vocals. She has a very different vocal style. Check out "Blooming" ( yes, they have one too) for H-san lead vocals.
Mayu's vocals are, of course, as you say, "so good live". But this is clearly at least two performances edited together (or Mayu changed her hairstyle halfway through!) so I'm not sure if this is live audio or which performance the audio was taken from.

This is a 10 out of 10 for me! I didn't see you at the Whisky for Nemophila (yes, I know that you WERE there). I didn't see you for Nemophila at the Echoplex. I didn't see you at the Whisky for Hanabie (I understand that you couldn't make that one). Maybe the forth time (whatever that ends-up being) will be the charm?

Nemophila pure fire 🤘🔥🔥❤️❤️ melts your face
Oh, and Saki looks amazing in those thigh highs and pigtails❤
Love Mayu live, she has such a presence on stage with a stubtle sexiness.
Live, she exhibits some of that same sweet goofiness that Kanami of Band-Maid does, especially in Japan. Just a joy.
hey John next one you have to check out is Adabana!
I second this request
👍Great performance by a very talented band. 🖖❤

I'm still somewhat surprised there's anything left of Nagoya after that show...

I freaking love Babymetal, N°1 on my list but... Nemophila just blown my mind everytime, Mayu is certainly one of the best Fem vocal in the world.
