I will have to check out this DayZ tools program you mentioned. I do enjoy your very informative vids on the statistics of the game. But I am impatient, and curious about other aspects of the game, and could be waiting a while to find out things such as the stats on different animals. I know the bear is extremely hard to take down, but you can kill a sheep by darned near sneezing on it.

For the bit about the plate carrier, it’s been tested that the pouches AND pistol holster (with a pistol or without it) absorb damage before the plate carrier does. So in theory your pouches and pistol holster can tank a few bullets before becoming ruined and then the rounds hitting the plate carrier itself. Pretty neat!
Plate carrier saved me just an hour ago on Xbox.. multiple hits from mp5 and I didn't take any damage. The guy shooting me pooped himself when I whipped out the saiga + drum mag as I proceeded to full auto in his direction.

Yep, plate carriers are OP as hell. Always wear one, just carry less for the stam hit you take. It’s totally worth it. Being able to survive the first shot is very helpful.

Once i got shot directly in head from above (762x39 sks) but i was wearing a ballistic helmet and nothing happen except that i lost 40% of my life. That helmet is fcing damn good
Tier1 helmets (all armour really) should only give -50% impact reduction for the HP percentage of the bullet damage, and any further HP dmg should be added WITHOUT the -multiplier. Idk if this is how it Does work, but it’s how it Should be for non-bulletproofed gear especially. So for example a 24dmg low-caliber round would take -50%impact for 17/24dmg pts. And the remainder of 7dmg would go through at 100% effectiveness.
Rav great vid mate BUT you missed one thing regarding protection, i have confirmed that having a handheld reciever can save your life if ya shot on the shoulder but is it possible to have survived a shot on a plate carrier with a holster with pistol in it and pouchers vs plate carrier with out holster and pouchers?...is this a thing.
No, It does not protect you, This common myth has been disproved on a consistent basis, The handheld receiver has no hitbox and only takes AOE and Environmental damage
I really like the Smersh vest due to its practically with weight and inventory space but I turn down a combat vest unless I find mag pouches seeing it doesn’t have inventory without them and I rarely find enemies seeing how the server I’m on has a lot of friendlies.

Well you are correct but wrong on one part and that is most helmets have fire geo meaning you can set how a item interacts with projectiles meaning it doesn't matter if you set the hit points to 1million for the hockey helmet the bullet will still go through the helmet this is all based on rvmats this can be found in data/penetration and all helmets use different and similar rvmats this Asli goes for the face shield visor this will stop some lower caliber bullets
7:42 while I don’t think it would be quite as good as a plate carrier stab vests are actually pretty resistant as they have to be stronger than some bullet resistant vests because with bullets they only need to reduce the impact whereas with knives they have to stop it getting through entirely I know it’s not the best explanation and it’s still a bit Illogical in game but I wouldn’t say it’s entirely inaccurate is all. (Oh and btw when I said some bullet resistant vests I was referring to soft armour as obviously hard armour like the plate carrier would be significantly better)
btw I think if a shot brings the armor to state = ruined, all the damage of said shot/projectile is not counted towards the armor, but towards the player, as if he had no armor
Does the dmg reduction %'s differ based on an ammo's penetration value? What about the distance the round was shot at you from (thus it's airspeed velocity)? I had both a plate carrier and tactical helmet on and got 1-shot by .308 from a mosin ~100m away. .308 is 110 headshot damage, and should have been reduced to 55 dmg total by the tactical helmet (if I was headshot), so how did I get 1-shot killed? (yes I did have full HP).
Wore full kit of helmet, comtacs, mask, plate carrier with pouches and holsters, combat belt with pouches. Survived about 9 hits from a modded Juggernaut Bear.
Just killed one with 2 shots by a .308 M417.. One in the chest, one in the head. Vest, Jacket, Helmet and mask completely ruined. Yes, helmets do help. If the enemy doesn't have a high end gun 😅 (He shot my plate carrier 5 times with 5.45x39, only damaging it.) I lost half my health but was not bleeding.
Hey was wondering if you could clear this up. Do diffirent helmets cover diffirent parts of your face? For example a combat helmet does not visually cover your jaw while a motorcycle helmet does. Does this mean getting shot in the jaw with a combat helmet, means you dont receive its benefits or is it treated the same as a motorcycle helmet? Also what about the enduro helmet attachments?

Thank you for the video, but aside from a couple of the helmets listed, no one cares or worries about base game values of items in the vanilla game. DayZ today is nearly entirely about the modded scene and this video (or perhaps a follow-up video) would be best served focusing on the community standard of modded helmets today (SOBR/pub-g style/etc).
I understand your point the problem with the modded ones is that there is so many to choose from, the majority of the population will experience the vanilla ones the most. Don't forget about the console playerbase, its probably bigger than the PC one, and they dont have any modded support.

I'm new to the game but I mowed down a fully geared guy in plate carrier literally in 0.5 sec with KA-M. When I put his vest on, my stamina bar went to almost zero. Is the trade-off for stamina and slots really worth it? I might have gotten lucky but I felt this armor didn't help the guy at all.
I'm actually not sure if the hi cap vest provides armor. Ive taken large rounds with it and lived so i assume so, but the wiki says it doesn't. So uh... I'd like to see it tested.

Okay so I'm confused, when I was checking the wiki the Plate Carrier is listed as having 0.5 projectile health protection, but the Tactical Vest (high cap) is listed as having 0.9 projectile health protection. So shouldn't the tac vest be better? Is the wiki outdated? Or am I looking at the numbers the wrong way? I figured the closer to 1.0 it was the better the stat.
Can you destroy people's gates without with a combination code on? I killed some guy who attacked our base took 3 weeks to make for him to tell me he came back with 8 and destroyed our whole base but the paddocks are still in the gates? I thought you needed hacksaws
So your telling me a hockey helmet can stop a 762.39 round? Because I’ve been head shotted by somebody with a bk18 with a tactical helmet on and I’ve survived it without getting knocked out.
@@hl-c2704 I doubt it protects. Afterall its just a bit of netting and burlap strips. And on some Ghillie Players you will probably find a helmet incase they get into a firefight/they go Close Combat. Hope that helps :D

Most military helmets in real life especially the older ones are really meant for shrapnel and should only stop a bullet if there is Kevlar in them
I personally own a Smersh Vest Set up for SVD and its pretty reliable and same goes for the UK Assault Vest Hi Cap But No Protection and Nice vid Btw

If I remember properly the rider jacket does reduce shock and damage from zombies and melee. Arguably the best shirt if that’s true
What about the radius of protection e.g. Gorka helmet has a visor does that provide face protection?
Helmet protects the entire head including the face the visor is just there for cosmetics

Are you sure clothing offers no protection? Because I’ve shot fresh spawns with a Tundra at close range and they don’t die.
They still offer protection, just not to projectiles. And depending on where you shoot people depends on if they get 1 shot or not.

I think they are outdated, for example if u check the stats on hokey helmet and tactical helmet the hokey helmet comes out on top.
Can you destroy people's gates without with a combination code on? I killed some guy who attacked our base took 3 weeks to make for him to tell me he came back with 8 and destroyed our whole base but the paddocks are still in the gates? I thought you needed hacksaws

So your telling me a hockey helmet can stop a 762.39 round? Because I’ve been head shotted by somebody with a bk18 with a tactical helmet on and I’ve survived it without getting knocked out.
Can you show the vests cause I haven’t seen all the vests in the game

Do helmets only protect the actual space covered or do they protect you from direct face shots aswell ? Never know. Its a game afterall.

@@hl-c2704 I doubt it protects. Afterall its just a bit of netting and burlap strips. And on some Ghillie Players you will probably find a helmet incase they get into a firefight/they go Close Combat. Hope that helps :D

And it's dead on console. Just the shit private servers with too much loot and even those are few and far between and the only populated servers are shitty turd person view.

So I’ve heard that putting a pan in your vest or jacket adds protection and that the plate carrier pistol holster with a pistol on your chest adds protection. Is this true?
