Keanu Reeves I got like 4-5 mlock mags and all of them are full and I have spare ammo, .45 is the rarest of normal pistol ammo.

I shot a guy in the head with the .22 yesterday, he ran. He came back like 2 minutes later. Got ANOTHER head shot and he tanked that one too. Just ran off lol

Dude this was really really good, I can really tell you put a load of effort into these vids. I was actually testing some of these damages with certain armors, modded and vanilla on a private server and it got so boring after a bit, so thanks for the detailed vid on this lmao.

Just a side note: When you talk about "blood damage" is better to refer it as "bleeding probability". That 100 blood value multiplies by the value in the armor/clothing to determinate if you are going to bleed or not after you get hit and not how many blood points are going to be taken from your global 5000 points. Example: You get hit by a 5.56mm (55HP | 100 BLOOD | 66 SHOCK) and you are wearing a Plate Carrier, you would see that the Plate Carrier have 0 as a blood protection value. At first you can think that it would not protect you from that blood damage but its the opposite: when you multiply 100 (Blood_Damage) x 0 (Plate_Carrier_Multiplier) the result is 0, so you won´t bleed or loose any blood from that shot.

So 5.56 and 7.62x39 do the same damage hmm, I always thought 7.62 did more I guess the M4 is a better gun for sure then. EDIT: aaaand 5.45 does the same damage? That's a little stupid.

In real life each 00 or 000 buckshot pellet is roughly the size of a 9mm in diameter, so if the game is following some what real life specs buckshot from a shotgun should be the equivalent of getting shot by a 9mm multiple times at once, hence why shotguns are powerful up close and the more than hit you
I've killed people with one buckshot blast in DayZ so I assume the buckshot does way more damage when all or most of the pellets hit than said here

First off I’m a noob. Second the mozen carried me. This man was decked out with an m4 and all. I shot him with one shot and I ran. Thankfully he fainted and was killed by the near by zombies. This is the take on how I ruined a mans plate carrier jacket and backpack wile taking his M4. Thanks 7.62.

@@derekpratt4055 I'm not disagreeing with what you're saying here, but functionally they are the same. In the same way that I can fire 7.62 NATO and .308 out of my HK-91 or 5.56 and .223 out of an AR or M4. I did say .308 is 7.62mm NATO, not .308 Win

@@derekpratt4055 Its like saying .223 is different from 5.56, ig they are TECHNICALLY different, but only in internal dimensions and pressure. The external dimensions are identical and will fire out of the same weapons just as .308 and 7.62x51. I have a .308 rifle and shoot 7.62x51 NATO through it alot because it's more consistent
This why my favorite gun will always be the mosin,civil spawn for gun and ammo,one shot kill on target without any armor

Fucks me up that this game can be so detailed that you have to account for blood on your hands before you eat, wind direction so prey doesn't smell you coming, and the friction wind has on your bullets _and you can't fucking open a cabinet_

.380 is my pistol round as it has the highest pistol ammo storage capacity and i only use it for shooting zombies whilst i am in a house
I think that .380 is a decent round, i use it in the u-70 on zombies and since the gun only takes up 4 spots and you can get the most ammount of kills per stack in ammo.I think its the best ammo for zombie combat but dont use it it player combat
True and the box contains 35 shots as well so you get a lot in the beginning

The NATO 556 feels so underpowered, I run with the 7.62 vsd , fal 308 or scar , but I'm really loving the vss 9x39 it's such fun
Well, in regard of the buckshot, this is outdated, as now every pellet will deal 34, which means that if you manage to hit with all 8 pellets, you will deal 272 damage points, and of course, with a double barrel shotgun, you can theoretically
deal 544 points in damage, killing everything in one click.

All weapons of each ammo type do the same damage. So that means that sawed off rifles do the same damage as normal rifles, and sawed off shotguns do the same damage as normal shotguns?
The problem with damage on video games from a gun guys standpoint: the damage of a gun in real life comes from many small factors. Obvious is caliber but there is also the twist rate of the barrel affecting velocity, the type of bullet (hollow, fmj, ect) the exact composition of the gunpowder used and the grain and composition of the bullet. Adding to that is the fact that because rounds like .22 and 380 are smaller they assume they cant actually do a good amount of damage. Im not blaming developers i understand they can only do whats in their abilities and balancing is necessary, im just saying there isnt a great system yet. Just my thoughts
@Matt Haddock thats what i was trying to say, the .22 and the 380 should do more damage in the game. What i was also saying is that the akm and the bk18 and the sks should do slightly different damage when its a vest arm or leg wound, but they base it off the round only. What i am saying is while yes where it hits is the most important, the others should be added as small factors in a perfect world.
Nice guide, it's strange to see that velocity is now part of the bullet characteristics and no longer part of the gun as it used to be in Arma 2, where different guns shooting the same round get a different velocity and thus different damage output. Are you sure this isn't the case anymore? Also I kinda disagree on the .380 being useless, especially from a CZ61 it can be very good due to its low rate of fire making it easy to hit an entire mag, compared to the 9mm from a MP5 with a much higher rate of fire.
in arma different guns with same calibres have different muzzle velocities, because barrel attributes does contribute to that in real life too, such as barrel length, rifling etc. So it is likely connected to that.

Currently I'm on a modded PVE server, I'm still pretty new to PC, been on console since Intellivision and Atari.... and literally haven't touched a PC since MS DOS... seriously lol. Regardless, currently my loadout is a BEASTLY M240 LMG from A2 that fires the .308 Winny from a 150rd box with no recoil... love it because the server I run on has the Zed's health cranked way up and the only thing that will take them out in one shot is a 9mm+ to the head, they'll take 10+ .556 rounds to the chest and keep charging lol... the .308 will kill them in 2 chest shots. Secondary is an AR15 IRSC... just because it's purty, I don't even use it lol.
Some of these guns on modded servers are insane. Ill do a spreadsheet after i've done the armor and best weapon guide. SHould then give a good idea on what to use
@@RavPlays you should see my base lol. I usually sell, but decided a couple weeks ago to start collecting pricey weaponry. I have that one large factory/garage building with one entrance and windows up high all the way around, with a ladder in the rear that takes you up to like a "loft"... you know what building I'm talking about.... regardless, I have that fenced in room in the back with 9 rifle walls, 5 glass gun cabinets, and 2 gun racks currently filled inside that room....full of VSSK's, Barret M82'S, L96's, AS50's, assorted Cheytac's, PKP's....it's ridiculous lol. Thankfully it's a "no raid" server....then again I've got like 5 double high locked gates and multiple airlocks and walks and whatnot to even get through to get in.... and nothing is visible from the outside....I even have every single window (like 30 of them) with my custom "window blinds" on them(fence kits with camo nets imbedded in the wall over the window). Maybe I'll grab some pics and post them up in a folder lol

So does the penetration value only affect the rate at which bullets go through doors etc? Or does it also affect the rate it can shoot through platecarriers and other protective gear?

7.62 X 39mm really have less velocity and the same damage/bleed/shock as 5.56 X 39? Wouldn't that make the AK-74 much better than an AKM?
I don't understand why 7.62x39 doesn't have more power to it over 5.56 and 5.45... the penetration being lower is understandable, but why make it just objectively a much worse round in every single way?
3:52 I came back to see if he's changed this but it's still here. Dude, u can't get something this big wrong, all 8 pellets hitting a player from buckshots doesn't do 34 damage, is does 34 damage for each pellet hitting, so 34*8 which is like 272 damage. if all 8 hitting did only 34 damage, it would do the same as one .45 ACP bullet, from all 8 hitting a player's chest, and you wouldn't be able to one shot with buckshots. it would take 3 shots with all 8 hitting a player's chest, so 24 pellets, to kill someone. In reality it only takes 3 pellets from one shot. I mentioned this before and you replied so i thought u were gonna correct this but i guess not. apart from that good video dude :)

Amazing video as always..expected nothing less from you . But I think you should make a pt2 cause we need some clarification. Like do clothes have protection value? Do backpacks? Does hitting a weapon or item in your inventory reduce the dmg of a bullet ?

In fact .380 is ACP and .45 is Auto ... I don´t know why it is reversed in game ...

Thes values based on dayz 1. 04 standalone and off wiki i see .also dont take in account sawn weapons spread n decreased range capability (mosin ,bk 18 and 43 respectively ) And u sure modifier not in play x 8 for buck

For me the best ammo to use is : 1- the 7.62, 54 MMR and : 2- 308win
Ffs i dropped my blaze n 308 round bc i only had 2 bullets and found a shotty and had 6 rubber slugs

Erm the vss is weird like that, i think its technically a sniper, im going to be include it in my sniper video atleast. And as for the m70 tundra and mosin it just depends or preference. I prepare the scope the mosin takes but i can see why someoen would like the hunting

This scaling makes it seem like rifled slug is better but the buckshot does more damgage truly
Some of these change on console the slugs are the worst while buckshots are beasty so if you were to use slugs on a armored person it wouldn’t do nothing but give them a bleeding affect id rather not use any ammo than me finding slugs cuz it’s so bad it’s like a bean bag ammo so buckshots are the better

Yea, its weird like that.
Its more like real life then most games, it is the ammo that you get hit by not the weapon, the weapon only affects how accurately the rounds can be put on target and the bullet speed is dependent on the barrel length, thats it, dayz just needs to model getting hit by a higher velocity bullet doing way more shock damage then by a sub-sonic round, like a .38 at 500m would probably ping off a plate carrier doing nothing whereas a mosin round or .308 would still break ribs and maybe pop lungs
