This game had a lot of problems, but it was solid enough imo to leave an longing impression on me. The depictions of each circles of hell are quite interesting reimagines to the original book depiction. To this day, i still think the Cerberus design of this game is probably the most creative, disgusting and terrifying i ever saw in any media ever.

this game was fun and the upgrade/add on system was nice, the only thing that was sub par was the fact that once you leveled up the cross a couple times, it was enough to literally spam it throughout the entire game, there was almost never a need for your scythe after playing a bit through the game...
For those who wants to play this, i have a tip: If you are having troubles fighting a crowd, just grab one small enemy. Others won't attack you while you're holding one. On the flip side, that is time-consuming.
This game needs a hard remaster for the new consoles with today's graphics. Also shows the world that the Christian pantheon can work in a video game..
I loved this game...still own it. It is clearly the "God of War" for the Xbox360. it's fun, immersive, and has a high replay value. I like the characters and boss fights, especially the grotesquely terrifying Cerebus fight!!! Games like this and "Asura's Wrath" deserve either a sequel or remake.
Crazy how the best hack n slash games are all based around godly stuff. God of war, Asuras wrath, Devil may cry, and this game, I guess its just a good thing to go off of for these types of games.

As well as Beowulf and Geryon being in the game/ though Geryon In The Devine Comedy portrays Beowulf’s looks. And Alighieri's find some sort of Dark Lion in a forest, which inspired (i assume) the creation of Shadow. Also Vergil being the one who gives Dante the final piece to go through Hell, after passing through many places that are somehow similar to descriptions of the book.

It’s not even a good GoW clone lmfao. Mash the square button, dodge sometimes, block all the time. Puzzles are shit, bosses are dumb and repetitive. Even the quick time events suck, and that’s basic for modern hack and slash games.

How EA didn't stick with a bastardized version of the divine comedy is beyond me. A sequel to this game, preferably in the exact same hack'n slash format is something that would be very welcome in 2023. DMC5 showed us that there is still a big, dedicated marked for these types of games. Especially the ones with silky smooth gameplay like Dante's Inferno
They did plan on a sequel but they cancelled it for some reason. Mind you, if a game like this set in this century was being made, could you picture it being marketed or not?
a sequel would be a great success if correct the mistakes, and add more levels and bosses for Seventh, Eight and Ninth Circles, the novel brings enough ideas !

How EA didn't stick with a bastardized version of the divine comedy is beyond me.
A sequel to this game, preferably in the exact same hack'n slash format is something that would be very welcome in 2023. DMC5 showed us that there is still a big, dedicated marked for these types of games. Especially the ones with silky smooth gameplay like Dante's Inferno
They did plan on a sequel but they cancelled it for some reason. Mind you, if a game like this set in this century was being made, could you picture it being marketed or not?
a sequel would be a great success if correct the mistakes, and add more levels and bosses for Seventh, Eight and Ninth Circles, the novel brings enough ideas !
