Do not overlook her piano playing as well. She has great dynamics in her singing and piano abilities. Her touch on the keys is just sublime. Her tone matches the song so well. Nuance is a great way to describe her abilities. She is special for sure.

I am a voice coach. I never had experienced that flawless voice before. She doesn't need to control it, she is the music! Some singers are born talented and some singers have to practice for several years in order to get where they are. This young girl can surpass mountains. She will be my top 3. I need to call the big guys. She will be our new celebrity!

Do you play piano? If so, that would seal it for me. I have no musical talent, but I thought that she made that piano convey the same emotion she was singing. It was beautiful to experience.
When a singer can break your heart with a life event you didn't experience, that is a star. That is what music is all about.

Amazing transitions from her breathy to head voice and the vocal control was so good. She’s a real musician.
Had some problems with those top notes though. Screech will have to be worked on imo.

Another 61 y/o, had me in tears after the first two lines and I've never heard the song before and don't know the words but her soft voice and the emotion in it got to me.
Just turned 70, she knocked me over!

Yea as soon as she played the first few notes..it just had the magical sound. It would of sounded beautiful without singing just hearing her play the piano also.

Absolutely beautiful. Listening to that emotion in her voice really cuts ya deep but is the reason music can be so moving. One of the most inspirational and best singing performances I have ever heard.
She sang that with all of her being, you could absolutely hear the authenticity of her emphasis on every emotion of every word she was singing. This was an incredible performance and I’d be shocked if she doesn’t win it all. Just hope she stays humble and doesn’t let the music industry take her values away.

I’ve only watched American Idol two times and that was years ago. I just came across this on u-tube and I’m so glad that I did. I understood every word said, note played and emotion coming from this beautiful soul. I keep listening to it over and over again. Watching her siblings love for her was what topped this performance off. “My sister is talented, man!” 😊. Could she please cover and record “What am I Made For” so that I don’t have to keep rewinding this video? Bless you Abby. Keep your beautiful soul intact. Fame is a two edged sword.
