Not calling you ignorant, but he was convicted by a jury. So your opinion is irrelevant as if the charges were "fake". And his defense has not provided anything different from what they presented in court to the jury. The jury heard all the defense arguments and still convicted him. I suggest you read the case transcripts since they are available. The only difference now is that if he is sentenced (which as President Elect may have some issues) the ruling and the appeals will take years and will be through his presidency. The case, the indictment, and the conviction are still standing and valid. The point is do they wait until 2028 to sentence and then go on with the appeals or they dismissed it all together.
All the commenters point that the case was vague, but that is not what is been considered. If it was it would not had taken place and even a conviction secured. So, like I said the issue is do they wait for four years.

- The judge donated to Joe Biden and has a daughter who raised millions of dollars for Democrats off the Trump prosecutions
- The other lead prosecutor also donated to Joe Biden
- The lead witness that the whole case relies on is a convicted perjurer and serial liar who admitted during the trial to stealing money from the Trump organization
- The judge put a gag order on Donald Trump for pointing out the political conflicts of interest of the people prosecuting him
- The "crime" relies on the idea that Trump paid off Stormy Daniels to conceal another crime, which is not mentioned in the indictment.
- The judge barred Trump's defense from explaining to jury that no campaign finance violation occurred but allowed prosecutors to assert as fact in their closing that there was.
- The judge cleared out the court room when Michael Cohen's former attorney was exonerating Trump but allowed the prosecution to bring in Stormy Daniels to talk about whether or not Trump used a condom.
- The judge barred a former FEC commissioner from testifying that Donald Trump did nothing wrong.
- The judge is allowing the jury to not have to reach a unanimous verdict on the underlying, unnamed crime Trump committed.

Conviction is not official until all legal challenges have been exhausted. The case is crap (blatant lawfare) and has zero chance of surviving appeal. That is why they want to hold onto the illusion of guilt by delaying sentencing instead of dismissing.

“Justice Delayed is Justice Denied.” -William Gladstone. He is a convicted felon whose sentence is being delayed on the pretext that a sitting presence has immunity. Yet, the supreme court inferred absolute immunity on the president only when the conduct in question is directly related to his official duties. Furthermore, he has already been tried and convicted. That in itself should have disqualified him from that office lest the message to citizenry and to the world be that someone need only seek elected office to avoid sentencing.
Look at it this way - If someone were being considered for a position as a judge, And while that persons is campaigning, they are convicted of a felony. The convicted felon is then elected to the judicial bench before sentencing was issued. Does the ‘judges’ qualified immunity transfer to the felony conviction? No.
If the U.S. voted for a felon to be president, then deal with what that entails. Don’t pervert the truth or twist the law in favor of a public official. Equal justice under law, and the equal protections clause.
