In this video I show you my mastering chain. For this tutorial I used an unfinished bigroom track by me and tried to master it without killing its dynamics.
In the video I showed how to setup your mixdown in terms of headroom before you start to master. It is really important step.
Firstly I used Fabfilter Pro Q3 to get rid of unwanted low and high frequences. Then I used mid/side EQing to make my bass area fully mono. It is important because if the club system got mono subwoofer, this way your track will bang better!
Then I saturated my mix a bit to get a warmer feeling in the mixdown. And glued everything with compressor.
Lastly I maximized the track and boosted it without killing the dynamics.
Also in the end of the video I showed how to measure your track in streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, TH-cam etc.

Yea it works so well. Also in video I think I made 6 db saturation but if you keep it on 0 I think it sounds better.

-14 is a good place to reach. But you can go for -10 area too.

I made some beat on FL20, on my studio speakers it sounds how I wanted, but on earphones - earbuds bass-line sounds distorted/harsh.. very bad, don’t know how to fix it. Made it on 3x Osc. Is this because I didn’t master it yet or I did something wrong in begging? But why it’s sound nice on speaker but bad on earphones? Thanks anyway
Make sure you are not clipping.
Ozgun I have a question ! My track is -6 LUFS and I want to put it on spotify, so should I just reduce the gain on my limiter to make my LUFS lower. But it will also reduce the DB and I dont know If Im thinking right. Thanks !
If it sounds good on -6 LUFS I would not reduce it. Let Spotify do the rest.

I don't understand why the volume in my tracks are so low, if I boost the master volume it just blows up the peak meter and sounds horrible

Hi. I have a problem: I have 10 db of headroom and when I am limiting or soft clipping my track it gets distorted. I can go maximaly to -10 LUFS but I need a -7. What can I do?
Clean your low end. Check all elements in your mix and try to make them fit. Then you should be able to maximize it.
@@OzgunOfficial I have cut all lows even from kick and sub bass (below 30 Hz) .
I have cut more lows (below 40 Hz) and made them quiter. I have made the highest frequencies louder. My track is maybe a little bit better but I can not achieve magic -7 LUFS. What can I do know?
Try to give it a little bit more input gain. Limiting or soft-clipping will tend to do more distortion.
Example, if you need to get more louder than your unmastered -16 lufs, try getting 9 dB from Input instead of limiting it per threshold. Keep -0.1 true Peak limiting

Evet, eğer kapalı kulaklık ise stereo alan çok doğru gelmiyor. Açık ya da yarı açık kulaklıksa biraz daha iyi iş görür. Handikapları var ikisinin de. Kapalı kulaklık daha iyi bass verirken açık olanlar stereo alanı daha iyi verir.
Will FabFilter Saturn work for the saturation process?
Yes but it's so tricky for me to use it on mastering.
