00:00 hey yeeboibob here in this video i'll be 00:02 reviewing and building the akko mod 005 00:04 a budget aluminum 65 gasket mounted 00:06 keyboard now akko did send this out to 00:08 me however all my thoughts and opinions 00:10 are completely independent the keyboard 00:11 comes in a big box and is nicely 00:12 packaged with large pieces of foam 00:14 you're greeted with a user's manual 00:15 going over the shortcuts and other 00:17 functions next we have the keyboard and 00:19 the extra fr4 plate we'll come back to 00:21 this in a moment on the right side 00:22 there's a plastic coiled usbc cable it 00:24 features gold connectors which is a nice 00:26 addition for an included cable this is 00:28 really nice and we'll definitely get the 00:29 job done alright with the hell of the 00:31 way we can now check out the keyboard i 00:33 received mine in space gray however they 00:35 offer three other colors as well dark 00:36 knight ocean blue and sakura pink 00:39 the build quality of this keyboard is 00:40 undeniably amazing considering its low 00:42 price for 130 dollars you're getting a 00:44 cnc aluminum and the device case which 00:46 is nicely built and does not seem to 00:48 have any imperfections on the outside or 00:49 inside the design is relatively minimal 00:51 and utilizes an arrow key block here 00:53 which is really nice in my opinion now 00:54 this keyboard does come with plate 00:55 mounted stabilizers but also supports 00:57 certain screen stabilizers as well not 01:00 all but certain i'll talk more about the 01:01 pcb later on once i've disassembled the 01:03 case so we can take a closer look it 01:05 comes with an aluminum plate 01:06 pre-installed however as mentioned 01:08 earlier the kit includes an f541 as well 01:10 which is a nice addition 01:12 moving on to the switches i'll be using 01:14 the aqua jelly blacks which from what i 01:15 can tell are alco's attempt at the 01:17 gathering black but at a cheaper price 01:19 they use a 60 this time is palm they feature three 01:28 pins and are plate mounted 01:30 for their jelly series it seems that 01:32 akko has moved away from the kyle style 01:33 latches in favor of cherry style latches 01:35 finally these switches do not require 01:37 filming as their housings are very tight 01:42 i'm going to install these stock as for 01:44 now so we can have an unmodded sound 01:45 test as a point of reference 01:50 moving on to the keycaps i'll be using 01:52 ako's new blue and white asa pbt set 01:55 for the new line of keycap sets they now 01:57 include support for iso layouts alice 01:59 split space bar 1u shift key and mac 02:01 modifiers according to ako these were 02:03 suggestions from their customers and 02:04 it's really nice seeing a company 02:06 actually listening to feedback these 02:07 days but out of the way we can now move 02:09 on to the main set which features all 02:10 the usual alpha keys and modifiers 02:12 despite the budget costs these key caps 02:14 are relatively high quality they're 02:15 double shot pbt and the legends are 02:17 sharp with zero inconsistencies 02:24 now with the keyboard fully assembled 02:25 let's take a listen to it completely 02:27 stock 02:43 do 02:58 do 03:26 okay so you could probably tell that 03:27 this thing stock is super pinky in 03:29 addition the stock stabilizers felt 03:30 really mushy for some reason but they're 03:32 definitely better than most pre-built 03:33 keyboards all right now to test out the 03:35 fr4 plate i first removed the keycaps 03:37 and switches flipping it over there are 03:38 eight hack screws that i am removed they 03:40 do include this tool for this however i 03:41 would have preferred phillips screws 03:43 instead after removing those you can pop 03:45 the back cover off but be careful as you 03:47 need to disconnect the jst cable first 03:52 taking a closer look at that back cover 03:54 there does not seem to be any major 03:55 signs of machining marks which is a 03:56 positive in addition there are grooves 03:58 cut out which i believe are there to 03:59 help reduce pinging let's demonstrate it 04:01 through the sound test on here it 04:02 doesn't seem to do much 04:06 back to the top assembly there is a 04:07 super thin layer of foam which to be 04:09 honest i don't think it really does 04:10 anything to counter the hollowness or 04:12 pinging grapher is there but it's just 04:14 not effective removing the pcb assembly 04:16 reveals the top case once again no major 04:18 signs of machining marks here 04:22 back to the pcb assembly removing six 04:25 screws separates the pcb and plate and 04:27 reveals a dense layer of plate foam a 04:28 proper foam like this would probably 04:30 have an effect on the sound compared to 04:31 the case foam from earlier removing that 04:33 shows the bare aluminum plate and shows 04:35 how the gaskets have been installed 04:36 moving to the pcb it features ttc hot 04:39 soft sockets and cutouts for screw-in 04:40 stabilizers now yes the sockets are 04:42 north facing which could lead to 04:43 interference with cherry profile keycaps 04:45 however with any other profile this 04:47 issue is eliminated in addition long 04:48 stem switches will solve this issue as 04:50 well but another negative is it lacks 04:52 qmk and via support now to me this isn't 04:54 a huge problem as akko does offer their 04:56 own software to program key maps and 04:58 access other functions i did ask ako 05:00 about the sockets and qmk via support 05:01 they responded that north facing sockets 05:03 keep manufacturing costs down and most 05:05 people in china their main market do not 05:07 use cherry profile keycaps so they did 05:09 not see the need for the lack of qmk and 05:10 via i assumed this would be also to keep 05:12 the manufacturing costs down however 05:14 they did mention that they are looking 05:16 into addressing these issues apparently 05:17 they'll be producing a mod 07 with a 05:19 south facing pcb sometime in march or 05:21 april if successful they hope to 05:23 implement this into their other boards 05:24 as well furthermore they are looking to 05:26 add qmk via support for their mod series 05:28 in the coming months with all that being 05:30 said i move on to installing the gasket 05:31 strips onto the fr4 plate no display is 05:34 held in place via friction thus it does 05:35 not require screws like the aluminum one 05:39 while transferring the stock stabilizers 05:41 i wanted to point out that these are 05:42 actually decently lubed and fairly 05:43 consistent throughout 05:45 [Music] 05:48 then i reassemble everything and pop the 05:49 keycaps back on let's take a listen 06:13 do 06:54 with the fr4 plate i felt like it 06:56 sounded a little bit more hollow and 06:57 deep but no major difference now that 06:59 we've taken a listen to both plates and 07:00 stock configuration the modding can 07:02 begin once again disassembly the 07:04 keyboard i start by applying the force 07:05 brake mod credit to the youtube channel 07:07 keyboard for coming up with this so 07:09 instead of the top case and bottom case 07:10 having direct contact when assembled 07:12 this model involves applying a thin 07:13 layer of material in this case 07:15 electrical tape on the points of contact 07:16 eliminating any connection the result is 07:19 that pinging is significantly reduced 07:20 and the gases have slightly more room 07:23 next step will be replacing the useless 07:24 case foam with neukobuto sound deadener 07:29 [Applause] 07:32 this mod effectively removed all case 07:34 pinking and hollowness but it does mute 07:36 the sound profile whether that's good or 07:38 not depends on your preference however i 07:40 will be showing comparison with it and 07:42 without it later with these two mods 07:44 done i reassemble everything and test it 07:46 for pinging 08:01 here's a sound test comparing stock 08:02 versus now 08:53 [Applause] 09:05 as you can hear those two simple mods 09:07 essentially eliminated the case ping and 09:09 hollowness from earlier however i wanted 09:11 to take things further and bring the 09:12 best out of this board taking everything 09:14 apart for the third time i cut out p 09:15 foam through the pcb dimensions and 09:17 replaced the stock stabilizers with 09:18 lubed wire balanced and holy modded rock 09:21 v2s 09:25 after installation i test them for any 09:26 rattling or ticking 09:29 [Music] 09:54 in an attempt to remove the ticking from 09:55 the space bar i injected tritox 205 09:57 grade 2 into the back of the stabilizer 09:59 however the issue persists 10:07 then i change the switch to an aqua 10:09 matcha green which features a long stem 10:11 and the issue is solved 10:17 [Music] 10:24 for this next mod i will be removing all 10:26 of the current gaskets in preparation 10:27 for replacing them with d65 ones instead 10:30 although there's nothing wrong with 10:31 current ones d65 gaskets are a bit 10:33 plusher i doubt this will affect the 10:35 sound greatly however i had them lying
Your videos are truly the most comprehensive in terms of the progression of each mods and its impact on the sound. Truly appreciate the amount of work put in. Thank you!
Dude, I really like the content and the way you've broken down costs and the back to back comparisons. You've got a new subscriber! I've got a Mod 008 on the way and just took delivery of a Q2 today. I got used to having a volume knob and these both offer one but the Q2 knob is so ugly IMHO... It really looks like something they didn't want or intend to add but tacked on at the last possible second, fortunately I bought the Q2 through amazon because while it's a nice board I suspect that it'll be going back once I have a chance to compare to the Mod 008.
Thank you! Of course, looks are completely subjective so I can't say anything about that. However, a few things the Q2 has over the mod008 is that its pcb is south facing and support QMK/VIA. Whether if thats important or not really comes down to your use case. Being said, I suggest you look into this more before making a final decision!
I was confused whether to take this or the Keychron Q2, because the price difference isn't that much and Q2 has more feature (south-facing, knob, etc.), but I don't really like exploded layout and liked the Akko layout more. This video really helps me decide and now, I'm typing this comment with my Akko mod005, subbed!
@@YBBK I mean even look at thier switchs! It's not like they are amazing or anything but I personally really like their Sakura switch and thier POM line up! I do hope keyboard reviews start to take them more seriously 👍🏾
Oh really? Thanks interesting lol. But I was trying for around 30 min and afraid the pcb was gonna break lmao. At one point it did get it to fit but resulted in the whole assembly to be bent thus I removed it.
@@bernardofelgueiras7228 Yes that's also an option however the dust as a result from filing FR4 isn't safe to breathe in. It was also really late and I didn't feel like going outside and file lol.
I also have the Mod005. I like the keyboard very much, but honestly the lack of VIA/QMK supports really makes me feel switching. Or maybe just make their software more customizable (esc, alt, win keys can’t be remapped). Do you think that Akko’s future upgraded software (whether VIA/QMK or not) will also be applied to current models, or just the future release ones?
Qmk/via support is hardware. In order for a keyboard to work with qmk/via, the pcb must have a certain chip. So unfortunately, no, current MOD keyboard will never get qmk via support. Only for their future boards (if they do add the feature)
I’m still very confused should I go with an optical switch keyboard or a normal switch keyboard , I want to get in the hobby but I also want to gain an advantage while gaming
@@canarytea7094 yeah that’s true i’ve heard people saying it fits however if the margins are that small I’d rather play it safe and get stabilizers that fit guaranteed.
@@YBBK That's fair, It's just in my case I've already bought the durock v2 stabs and I don't have other options besides the stock, so just saying it for people in the same position as me :) Btw, thank you for the video, the mods were really helpful! It's my first time building a keyboard and I love the outcome :)
I am soo confused :( i want this kit really bad and i have dinokeys mint linears l+f which a friend gifted me but i only like cherry profile keycaps and idk if it will have interference:( so idk if i can buy this board or not… sadly i only see people using it with akko switches and no one is using cherry caps on it :(
I believe those switches have normal poles meaning they will have interference with cherry profile keycaps in this board. You could try using other switches with long pole stems to counter the issue. You could also check out the gateron oil kings or china joys, their top housings are designed so there is no inference with cherry profile either orientation. My final suggestion is that you check out drops dcx keycaps, very similar to cherry but have no north facing inference.
You can try searching for "butyl foam/tape" and there should be a few results. However, any kind of dense foam should also work fine. Something like EVA foam. Effect wont be as great, but close enough
I believe what you mean are the switches. I'm pretty sure akko CS swtiches have longer poles therefore removing interference while north-faced wtih cherry keycaps
I hate to dig on the board, but I don't personally think it deserves "premium at budget price" when it's north facing. North facing is just obnoxious at this point and I have zero clue why companies even release boards with it anymore.
00:00
hey yeeboibob here in this video i'll be
00:02
reviewing and building the akko mod 005
00:04
a budget aluminum 65 gasket mounted
00:06
keyboard now akko did send this out to
00:08
me however all my thoughts and opinions
00:10
are completely independent the keyboard
00:11
comes in a big box and is nicely
00:12
packaged with large pieces of foam
00:14
you're greeted with a user's manual
00:15
going over the shortcuts and other
00:17
functions next we have the keyboard and
00:19
the extra fr4 plate we'll come back to
00:21
this in a moment on the right side
00:22
there's a plastic coiled usbc cable it
00:24
features gold connectors which is a nice
00:26
addition for an included cable this is
00:28
really nice and we'll definitely get the
00:29
job done alright with the hell of the
00:31
way we can now check out the keyboard i
00:33
received mine in space gray however they
00:35
offer three other colors as well dark
00:36
knight ocean blue and sakura pink
00:39
the build quality of this keyboard is
00:40
undeniably amazing considering its low
00:42
price for 130 dollars you're getting a
00:44
cnc aluminum and the device case which
00:46
is nicely built and does not seem to
00:48
have any imperfections on the outside or
00:49
inside the design is relatively minimal
00:51
and utilizes an arrow key block here
00:53
which is really nice in my opinion now
00:54
this keyboard does come with plate
00:55
mounted stabilizers but also supports
00:57
certain screen stabilizers as well not
01:00
all but certain i'll talk more about the
01:01
pcb later on once i've disassembled the
01:03
case so we can take a closer look it
01:05
comes with an aluminum plate
01:06
pre-installed however as mentioned
01:08
earlier the kit includes an f541 as well
01:10
which is a nice addition
01:12
moving on to the switches i'll be using
01:14
the aqua jelly blacks which from what i
01:15
can tell are alco's attempt at the
01:17
gathering black but at a cheaper price
01:19
they use a 60 gram extended spring which
01:20
provides a fast and crisp return the
01:22
materials are not officially disclosed
01:24
however i assume the top is
01:25
polycarbonate the housing is nylon and
01:27
this time is palm they feature three
01:28
pins and are plate mounted
01:30
for their jelly series it seems that
01:32
akko has moved away from the kyle style
01:33
latches in favor of cherry style latches
01:35
finally these switches do not require
01:37
filming as their housings are very tight
01:42
i'm going to install these stock as for
01:44
now so we can have an unmodded sound
01:45
test as a point of reference
01:50
moving on to the keycaps i'll be using
01:52
ako's new blue and white asa pbt set
01:55
for the new line of keycap sets they now
01:57
include support for iso layouts alice
01:59
split space bar 1u shift key and mac
02:01
modifiers according to ako these were
02:03
suggestions from their customers and
02:04
it's really nice seeing a company
02:06
actually listening to feedback these
02:07
days but out of the way we can now move
02:09
on to the main set which features all
02:10
the usual alpha keys and modifiers
02:12
despite the budget costs these key caps
02:14
are relatively high quality they're
02:15
double shot pbt and the legends are
02:17
sharp with zero inconsistencies
02:24
now with the keyboard fully assembled
02:25
let's take a listen to it completely
02:27
stock
02:43
do
02:58
do
03:26
okay so you could probably tell that
03:27
this thing stock is super pinky in
03:29
addition the stock stabilizers felt
03:30
really mushy for some reason but they're
03:32
definitely better than most pre-built
03:33
keyboards all right now to test out the
03:35
fr4 plate i first removed the keycaps
03:37
and switches flipping it over there are
03:38
eight hack screws that i am removed they
03:40
do include this tool for this however i
03:41
would have preferred phillips screws
03:43
instead after removing those you can pop
03:45
the back cover off but be careful as you
03:47
need to disconnect the jst cable first
03:52
taking a closer look at that back cover
03:54
there does not seem to be any major
03:55
signs of machining marks which is a
03:56
positive in addition there are grooves
03:58
cut out which i believe are there to
03:59
help reduce pinging let's demonstrate it
04:01
through the sound test on here it
04:02
doesn't seem to do much
04:06
back to the top assembly there is a
04:07
super thin layer of foam which to be
04:09
honest i don't think it really does
04:10
anything to counter the hollowness or
04:12
pinging grapher is there but it's just
04:14
not effective removing the pcb assembly
04:16
reveals the top case once again no major
04:18
signs of machining marks here
04:22
back to the pcb assembly removing six
04:25
screws separates the pcb and plate and
04:27
reveals a dense layer of plate foam a
04:28
proper foam like this would probably
04:30
have an effect on the sound compared to
04:31
the case foam from earlier removing that
04:33
shows the bare aluminum plate and shows
04:35
how the gaskets have been installed
04:36
moving to the pcb it features ttc hot
04:39
soft sockets and cutouts for screw-in
04:40
stabilizers now yes the sockets are
04:42
north facing which could lead to
04:43
interference with cherry profile keycaps
04:45
however with any other profile this
04:47
issue is eliminated in addition long
04:48
stem switches will solve this issue as
04:50
well but another negative is it lacks
04:52
qmk and via support now to me this isn't
04:54
a huge problem as akko does offer their
04:56
own software to program key maps and
04:58
access other functions i did ask ako
05:00
about the sockets and qmk via support
05:01
they responded that north facing sockets
05:03
keep manufacturing costs down and most
05:05
people in china their main market do not
05:07
use cherry profile keycaps so they did
05:09
not see the need for the lack of qmk and
05:10
via i assumed this would be also to keep
05:12
the manufacturing costs down however
05:14
they did mention that they are looking
05:16
into addressing these issues apparently
05:17
they'll be producing a mod 07 with a
05:19
south facing pcb sometime in march or
05:21
april if successful they hope to
05:23
implement this into their other boards
05:24
as well furthermore they are looking to
05:26
add qmk via support for their mod series
05:28
in the coming months with all that being
05:30
said i move on to installing the gasket
05:31
strips onto the fr4 plate no display is
05:34
held in place via friction thus it does
05:35
not require screws like the aluminum one
05:39
while transferring the stock stabilizers
05:41
i wanted to point out that these are
05:42
actually decently lubed and fairly
05:43
consistent throughout
05:45
[Music]
05:48
then i reassemble everything and pop the
05:49
keycaps back on let's take a listen
06:13
do
06:54
with the fr4 plate i felt like it
06:56
sounded a little bit more hollow and
06:57
deep but no major difference now that
06:59
we've taken a listen to both plates and
07:00
stock configuration the modding can
07:02
begin once again disassembly the
07:04
keyboard i start by applying the force
07:05
brake mod credit to the youtube channel
07:07
keyboard for coming up with this so
07:09
instead of the top case and bottom case
07:10
having direct contact when assembled
07:12
this model involves applying a thin
07:13
layer of material in this case
07:15
electrical tape on the points of contact
07:16
eliminating any connection the result is
07:19
that pinging is significantly reduced
07:20
and the gases have slightly more room
07:23
next step will be replacing the useless
07:24
case foam with neukobuto sound deadener
07:29
[Applause]
07:32
this mod effectively removed all case
07:34
pinking and hollowness but it does mute
07:36
the sound profile whether that's good or
07:38
not depends on your preference however i
07:40
will be showing comparison with it and
07:42
without it later with these two mods
07:44
done i reassemble everything and test it
07:46
for pinging
08:01
here's a sound test comparing stock
08:02
versus now
08:53
[Applause]
09:05
as you can hear those two simple mods
09:07
essentially eliminated the case ping and
09:09
hollowness from earlier however i wanted
09:11
to take things further and bring the
09:12
best out of this board taking everything
09:14
apart for the third time i cut out p
09:15
foam through the pcb dimensions and
09:17
replaced the stock stabilizers with
09:18
lubed wire balanced and holy modded rock
09:21
v2s
09:25
after installation i test them for any
09:26
rattling or ticking
09:29
[Music]
09:54
in an attempt to remove the ticking from
09:55
the space bar i injected tritox 205
09:57
grade 2 into the back of the stabilizer
09:59
however the issue persists
10:07
then i change the switch to an aqua
10:09
matcha green which features a long stem
10:11
and the issue is solved
10:17
[Music]
10:24
for this next mod i will be removing all
10:26
of the current gaskets in preparation
10:27
for replacing them with d65 ones instead
10:30
although there's nothing wrong with
10:31
current ones d65 gaskets are a bit
10:33
plusher i doubt this will affect the
10:35
sound greatly however i had them lying
wtf-

its just the transcript copy pasted lol
Your videos are truly the most comprehensive in terms of the progression of each mods and its impact on the sound. Truly appreciate the amount of work put in. Thank you!
Thank you, this genuinely means a lot to me! Always striving to produce higher quality content :)
I like this video more than the other MOD 005 vids out there. Very in depth which helped me a lot.
Thank you! Glad I could be of help :)
Because of this video, I've decided to buy myself an Akko mod005 I'm in love with it.
thanks for mentioning the part of shipping and I think all the reviewers should consider it.
Wow!
That final build sounds amazing - congrats :- )
Thank you!
I'm one of the rare people who likes that metallic ping while typing.

This is such a great video and you were a huge part of getting me into the hobby thanks so much and I love ur videos!
That’s nice to hear, thanks you! Always working towards better quality ☺️
really good video, watching this while my mod005 is in the mail. got some good inspirations for modding it.
Nice! Hope you have fun building it!
Being said, I suggest you look into this more before making a final decision!
i saw this on my recommended and i just had to watch it! no regrets ❌
Nice man! Glad I could help you make the decision, appreciate the sub :)
easily the most underrated keyboard ytb ever lol
Thank you! 🙏
low key akko is slowly changing the keyboard market for the better!
Yes! Especially with their newer boards, akkos been killing it recently
@@YBBK I mean even look at thier switchs! It's not like they are amazing or anything but I personally really like their Sakura switch and thier POM line up! I do hope keyboard reviews start to take them more seriously 👍🏾
I kinda like the stock sound actually🫣
The editting is op
Haha thanks!
Good vid, great production quality and transitions, definitely earned a sub. Hope to see this channel rise up to the mainstream kb youtueber level
Thank you, this means alot :)
Doesn't Akko ships free when it is more than 50$? In europe you can get this keyboard for 120 include shipping
Really? That’s interesting. Probably because european countries are closer to china
Sheeeeshhhh nicee videooo 🔥
I also have the same board with gat ink blacks and it sounds so goood👌
Love your editing
love the transitions
Amazing vid! Great job on the keyboard as always 😉
Thank you!
Nice review mate.
Thank you!
Nice Video!
But could you also add a modded soundtest without pe foam?
Thank you! Unfortunately, I will not further make content on this keyboard. However, in the future I will definitely consider you suggestion :)
I have the same board and the durock v2s do fit, just have to apply some decent force :)
Oh really? Thanks interesting lol. But I was trying for around 30 min and afraid the pcb was gonna break lmao. At one point it did get it to fit but resulted in the whole assembly to be bent thus I removed it.
@@YBBK maybe it could be the differences in tolerance between units
Glad the kbdfans fit though :))
@@YBBK couldnt you just file the plate down on the stabilizers spots?
I upgraded my mod005 with a bakeneko65 pcb and unified daughter board to have VIA/QMK. It works great.
@@_xmj I’m doing something similar in an upcoming video! 👀
@@_xmj great idea! Also looking forward to ybbk's video on it to learn more about it.
Thank you for the vid man i copied your forcebreak mod setup because the placement always confuses me and it helped a lot.
Have you managed to try out the q2 and if so why do you reccomend the q2 over the mod005?
Curious as im looking for my first custom alu build
I have a q2 on hand right now just haven’t gotten around to building it. Maybe in 1-2 weeks :)
These stock stabilizers are hella fine tho…
It’s not a keyboard ✨ITS A HOBBY ✨
I’m still very confused should I go with an optical switch keyboard or a normal switch keyboard , I want to get in the hobby but I also want to gain an advantage while gaming
Just go with normal lmao. You won’t notice the difference
Akko pc75b plus with the silver switched is an fantastic option
hey yeeboibob, would like to ask what I can use as a replacement for noico? it doesn't seem to be available in my country
Any kind of dense foam should work. Probably not as well as noico, but good enough
My exam starts in 1 hour
I can’t digest that keycap transition
Good luck!!! 🙏
How thick is noico dampener? 2mm?
Stock still sounds better than any other keyboard that I owned 😭
hey man, so the durock v2 stabs is not suitable out of the box?
yes, there are some fitment issues. I’m pretty sure c3 or kbdfans screw ins fit fine though
@@YBBK thanks man
I managed to fit my durock v2 stabs with the FR plate it came with. Took me like 15 minutes to fidget and press it down, but it fits!
It's my first time building a keyboard and I love the outcome :)
imo the only downside of this board is the north facing leds
My final suggestion is that you check out drops dcx keycaps, very similar to cherry but have no north facing inference.
are you using durocks or kbd. It says that you used durocks for soundtest but then you said you used kbd fans.
Durock stems in kbd housings, I mentioned this in the video
@@YBBK thk
prefer alu plate and no pe foam to keep the sounds signature of the mod 005, my mod005 still achived maximum thocc
Nice!
i like the plant
Do you know any alternatives for Noico dampener? I can’t seem to find Noico dampener in my country.
You can try searching for "butyl foam/tape" and there should be a few results. However, any kind of dense foam should also work fine. Something like EVA foam. Effect wont be as great, but close enough
How thick do you think the EVA foam should be to eliminate all of the case ping?
@@doker9298 Should be around the depth of the bottom case. However, the main mod that rids of case ping is force break.
how thick is the noico dampener used in this video?
I believe it is around 3-5mm thick. Out of box thickness, I did not alter it
@@YBBK thank you!
it sounds very crunchy
I heard Akko keyboards don’t suffer from cherry interferences. I wonder if this is true with this keyboard.
I believe what you mean are the switches. I'm pretty sure akko CS swtiches have longer poles therefore removing interference while north-faced wtih cherry keycaps
good bgm !
しゃろう's bgm right ?
Haha ty, yes I believe so!
What are your thoughts on rk61
k61 better 😂
@@YBBK its costs 20 bucks more thoe (which isn’t a problem ) .. and I’m personally not too fond of the floating keycap design
Mod005 vs Kbd67 Lite?
If cherry profile compatibility isn’t important to you and you have the extra money, go for the mod005
nice background
This or the Kbd67 lite r3 I can’t decide. This is a great video!!!!!!!
If you have the extra money and northfacing sockets dont matter to you, go for the mod005!
@@YBBK how much was the shipping for u? K ty I’ll prolly go for the Akko mod 005
@@YBBK how much do u think the shipping would be to the US
@@smgonlykrownz9416 I live in Canada and shipping to me via the DHL option was $20 USD. I did not face any import fees (this may differ for you)
@@YBBK ok ty what is DHL tho?
amazing
there still some ping from the metal material
hmmm i don’t seem i hear any after the mods, could you specify where?
I hate to dig on the board, but I don't personally think it deserves "premium at budget price" when it's north facing. North facing is just obnoxious at this point and I have zero clue why companies even release boards with it anymore.
pretty
Can I get a free keyboard
Aluminium not aluminum.
