A good friend of mine did just that, he went down on his motorcycle at 60 mph and slide for about 100 feet. He was wearing a Roadcrafter jacket and it probably saved his life and quite a bit of skin!

After buying my first bike is '82, I became an avid reader of all the motorcycle print media of the day. I remember so well seeing the Aerostich ads in every issue, salivating while dreaming about owning a suit of my own but being constrained by the budget of a college student working part-time. My time is coming soon to own this dream of mine, and this video showing the skilled and loving craftsmanship that goes into each piece assures me my wait will rewarded handsomely. So rewarding watching the process!

I bought my roadcrafter (two piece) suit back in 1994 for about cdn$1100. I still use it as my trust worthy daily vacation touring suit and it still does not leak any rain water. Amazing! That’s $37.93 per year :>)

I rarely comment on videos, especially ones by a manufacturer, but this was so great to watch I have to! It shows the people doing this work are really skilled craftsmen/women with pride of workmanship to go along with top notch materials. If more people could see what it takes to make quality things, they might understand why it costs more to buy them and not constantly look for the lowest cost things. I've had my 'Stich since 2013 and still love it! Service from everyone there is always top notch as well!

What a great video! Seeing all the work and attention to detail that goes into making something like that is why I don't mind spending more on quality handmade gear. Amazing craftsmanship. I don't have an R-3, but I do have a Darien jacket and pants (as well as a Transit jacket, which unfortunately isn't made in your factory), but it's neat to see at least one of the people (Jake) who had a hand in making my gear. Well done, but the gear and the video. Keep up the great work.

Thanks for making this video - I watched the webcams as much as I could and got to see a little of my suit being made.
I have always loved watching CNC equipment work so it was nice to see the cutting table in action as I was there on a Saturday to be measured so there was no production going on .
I'll be back when I lose enough weight to need a new suit and that one will probably be a one piece!!

A ton of miles on a Darien suit, and now breaking in an R3 (Also sewn by Mari, and cut by Mike and Jake!) - I will continue to tell people to take pride in what they are buying - Thank you guys for continuing to make the best real world gear! I've owned an 80s Roadcrafter and an early 2000s Darien suit and "tested" the 2nd one on the Canadian Dempster Highway's arrowhead-gravel at 50mph and this is the gear to be wearing if you're going to try sliding down the road on your butt at highways speeds. I don't recommend the test, though.

Hello Aerostich! As a year round commuter I LOVE your products! However I have recently stopped wearing my well used Roadcrafter because I wanted to have an integrated electronic airbag. The only thing that could possibly make a Roadcrafter better would be to have an integrated airbag. I realize this would make an already investment-level purchase even more of an investment for your consumers. However I feel that your company already has great loyalty from the moto enthusiasts that prioritize both safety and convenience and are willing to pay for the best. I think you would be surprised to find how popular the option would be if you were able to offer it. My ‘suggestion box’ entry would be for you to reach out to In&Motion to see how their airbag products could integrate into your stellar suits. No one in the States offers an integrated airbag. You could dominate the market and add get another compelling reason for serious riders to choose Aerostich over other premium offerings.

Um, why is a Roadcrafter build video one of the most moving things I've seen in a while?!
What a lovely film. So many wonderful aspects: Jake's branded apron with the reflective strip! Mari's attention to detail and care (not to mention, her t-shirt collection)! Also turns out it's possible for the operation of a seam sealing machine to be meditative; thank you, Heather and Mimoz! How cool that Stephanie both begins and ends the process? And then when Amy leaves the "box of promise" on the dock in the setting sun, we know it will be opened with delight by the recipient. Soundtrack was amazing too.
All proof that there's nowhere in the motorcycling world quite like Andy's Candy Castle...

I love my Aerostich Roadcrafter and it has proven itself as protective gear and increased my riding comfort. I would like this video more if it had narration explaining what the workers are doing, why it's different from cheaper manufacturers, why they tape and then resew and tape again. I don't understand the differences in the roles by the different departments. Beautiful video but I would have liked a narrator explaining what I was watching. I sent my suit for crash repair and wondered what they did to repair it. A video about that would be interesting.

A new Darien jacket is supposed to be delivered tomorrow, replacing one I bought new 17-years ago, which itself replaced one I'd bought in about 1995 I think. Hi Shea, great video. Please produce more videos for areostich. Areostich, could you look into using spidersilk, here :Spider Silk Strength: Stronger Than Steel
Kraig envisions genetically engineered spider silk, with its superior mechanical characteristics, will surpass the current generation of high-performance fiber. We believe that spider silk is in some ways so superior to the materials currently available in the marketplace, that an expansion of demand and market opportunities will follow spider silk’s commercial introduction. For example, the ability of natural spider silk to absorb in excess of 100,000 joules of kinetic energy makes it a potentially ideal material for structural blast protection.
