How do I discover this band only now?? Like how tf. I mean this is so fckn good! I don´t care if his voice isn´t the best I ever heard, he has so much soul, raw emotions! THIS is MUSIC people.
Ohhh...my... Ever see something for the first time and you have to keep watching it..? I keep rewinding back to where he throws down. I agree that the soul patch has to go ( or at least trim it up) but wow...I would have popped my audience scream cherry once he fell to the floor. / rewinds again // fandom nerd girl since 6th grade
O.K., let me preface this comment by letting y'all know that I am as straight as the day is long, but when Dulli SANGS his muthaluvin' heart out towards the end, I gots me chills and goosepimples all ovah, including my skull! He's got more soul now that he's off dope. Dy'all agree?!?!
Yeah, I agree. I'm just getting into them now, and when I first heard Greg's voice, I was all like WTF-are-you-for-real, but when he's on, he's ON. And I love how his voice contrasts with Mark Lanegan's. Cannot wait for the Gutter Twins album to fucking drop already.
Music critics that say Craig Finn of the Hold Steady is rock's best front man need to watch this video. The two best indie rock front men I've seen live or Dulli and Robert Pollard. There must be something about Ohio that produces great chain smoking singers. The great thing about seeing the Whigs and GBV is you never you what crazy shit Dulli and Pollard were going to do on stage. P.S. Nothing personal against Finn. He seems like a cool guy.
I love it, don't get me wrong here. It's an incredible song, but are the begining lyrics from Pink Floyd, "Shine on you crazy diamond" or something like that?
The Gutter Twins sound closer to early Afghan Whigs (Congregation, Gentleman) and Screaming Trees than Dulli's and Lanegan's current solo material. Gutter Twins are more hard rock.
@hal IDK your point about him being like a Nazi, or this being an afghan whigs ripoff. He wrote music for them, of course it's going to be similar, but no. two. whigs. songs. are the same. I read this is the first song he wrote after being clean. Glad people appreciate this given the likes v dislikes. He changed stealin to reelin in this performance, which I like. Glad I watched this.
Fuckin' rocks, as always, Greg's so the shit, but, like Daddyslittlegirl said, the looks are gone, man, I've never quite believed how he let himself go - he always seemed so cocky and vain. Ahh, as long as he can still sing it, I'll stay creamy.
DULLI...MY HERO...gosh, he is soo bloated out and unhealthy looking...I still worship him..don't get me wrong...but my fantasies went smoother before...you know? I think he is simply a GENIUS!
Hmmm, this is my first time hearing these guys and I really love the music but I don't like the singers voice. The music reminds me of some kind of isis / mouth of the arcitect type stuff. Good stuff overall!
Sorry folks; I don't get it -this adoration and exhaltation of Greg Dulli. This song more than others I have sampled is rehashed and homogenized Whigs. Dulli has become a bloviated Uber Elvis; here an almost silly characature from the third reich. The soul patch even looks like a misplaced Hitler mustache. Come on! Its good music, but its watered down Whigs. Been there! Heard that. Two chords repeated ad infinitum.
This is just the best. I listen to this any time I am extremely happy or extremely sad. It is my favorite live performance video of all time,
I cannot stop listening to this.
SO much more energy than the studio release.

Omg same
that solo! damn!
Ten years now since I discovered this band and this is still probably my favorite live performance of all time. So glad this is still on TH-cam
I was there @ pukkelpop in the front row and it was one of the most beautiful moments in music I've ever experienced! thank you Greg!
My favorite thing on the internet
Unbelievable artistry at it's highest level. WOW!! I'm speechless. I'm moved in so many ways. Thanks Greg! Keep up the great work!!
Agreed. He's always had mad soul, but it's kicked up a notch, in my opinion.
i love rthis band soo much and this was just the best performance ever OMG
yeah, i think its so badass! i love it!
As usuall excellent performance from Greg and the lads.
OMG...love this....love this. Drummer has Neil Young sideburns...what a greaat ef'fing song
An amazing perfomance.
I miss these times.
Deadringer - me too, buddy!
@@whigsbitch Happy Thanksgiving.
Man, this version is really much better than "live at triple door" and the album version! Greg is the man!
Cheers from Sweden!

Dave Rosser ❤
Gawd I love this man!
We are not alone x
this is just too good. it's impossibly good
kicking myself for missing this f'in tour in SF! Thanks for the post.
Shocking that there's not been a comment made here in 2 years... Great performance.
Johnny, I feel what your saying, but I've always thought the man sang his heart out, and so full of soul. Dope or not! So much feeling.
Fantastic - Dulli is a song-writing God!
Love the Pink Floyd reference at the start :3

Jeff Klein is a legend!
amen indeed!

YUP!
I must say one thing. If i was there, after this song i would go out right after the end of this song. I wouldn't need to see anything else...
epicc!!!!
anyway i could just get the audio for this? prefer this so much more than the album version.
It's uncanny the resemblance Greg has to Alec Baldwin in this vid.
that was EPIC!!!!!!! Any other tunes from this show? The quality is superb! Love this song :)
I agree. Do you have "Live at Triple Door?".
greg dulli mark lanegan
Yeah. Dulli busts tributes like that often.
I love it, don't get me wrong here. It's an incredible song, but are the begining lyrics from Pink Floyd, "Shine on you crazy diamond" or something like that?
I WOULD DEFINITELY CHOOSE THIS AS SONG TO PLAY BEFORE KILLING MYSELF - PROBABLY SLASHING
What's up with Jeff Klein always like like the Teenage Warewolf.
Is that another Ryan Adams look a like playing guitar? Jesus....

where is this footage from?!
You're my new bff, k?

yes, but Jeff Klein is better than Ryan Adams!
