Every time I see a GBoH unboxing I kick myself that I haven't gotten around to doing Chandragupta. I'm probably going to get the Simple GBoH ruleset and a counter tray beforehand, though. The only thing I don't like about these games is that I wish the counters were the 5/8 size. There's a lot of info on that small square.
I love this game. I like medieval/ancient games the best. My father owns this. The first edition I suppose. I watched my father and brothers play. Very exciting game. My brother said I could be the Franks in one of the battles. I was pleased until I realized that I might as well be the Poles in 1939. Older brothers have an interesting sense of humor. Anyway, school is closed until further notice because of the plague. I wish the Attila expansion had the Romans as the same color as the Cataphract Romans.
Nice video. I think Cataphract is a fairly decent place to start with GBoH; smaller battles, a few less rules/units etc. The Justinian game is sort of entirely separate, (you dont play out the battles) as Mark says it is just linked by theme. I am afraid to dissapoint you on this last point, but I think you need to find or have the rules to War Gally to play the Sena Gallica sea battle (why I am yet to play it :( )
Boo if that's the case for the War Galley. The Justinian Campaign seems to be getting even more interesting hearing that it's a separate entity altogether. By that I mean I hope it's not an age long and I might actually be able to tackle it!
@@ThePlayersAid Having read the rules to Justinian but not played, it dosen't look to long or complex. It seems sort of like they have added a magazine game on the topic to the box! Shame about War Gally....
Thanks, for the video. Justinian was in the first edition. I did most of the battles and Justinian is a little Berg gem that we threw in.
Is this a good place to try the system? Or is SPQR or Alexander recommended?

thank you
Any chance for a Top 10 GBoH video?
Not for a long time. We own a lot of them but have only played scenarios from like two of them.
