    I am watching this again. So entertaining and makes we want to play more. I am a novice player coming back to guitar after 30 years. Using a Spark Go at the moment but want to get the Garden room office set up as a practice space. Deciding on a it a Spark 2 or a Real Tube Amp. When I watch this it tells me the Marshall Origin 50c is what I am looking for as someone growing up through teen years in the 80’s.

    I was born 74 and my first guitar was a Slazenger tennis racket with string as a strap 😂 . I wanted an acoustic first , and then for my i think 12th Christmas, I got my first electric . I wanted a Fender Stratocaster but it was a fiesta red Jim Deacon copy . It was actually pretty decent and it served me well as a starter . The next was a black and cream Hondo Les Paul Copy . I didnt get my first American Strat until 1999 and i still own it today .

    Build your own treblebooster. You can't get the OC44 germanium anymore which was in the Dallas Rangemaster. They did use the OC71 OC75. Small Bear has some replacements. Tony Iommi's treblebooster was modd'ed. Brian May also had his modd'ed. Judas Priest uses a treblebooster makes a big difference when you use it. You can use get some other germanium trannies that work in a build. I used NTE158 which I like.

    • @TheCleaner6969
      @TheCleaner6969 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had the 50w head through a 2x12 & absolutely hated it. There is a mod called head first mod & that makes this amp come to life. So if you think you are going to buy this & be happy think again. I suffered trying really hard to like mine for 2 years. Also the fx loop sucks top end tone. One other thing is a TS sounds terrible with this. It is a very loud amp. The FF uses 2 trannies where as the Big Muff uses op-amps with 3 stages.

The ones I have are more suited to metal.

    • @giloro85
      @giloro85 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Muffs are designed for super clean bold amps..fenders and Hiwatts. If you really want the muff and need the classic tube overdrive go with the Hiwatt T40/20 (pristine Gilmour cleans+ early Page 1969-71 live tone on the O.D channel). If it’s the Marshall tone you crave, you may have to forgo the muff.

      Big muffs sound great through old Marshalls.
      I already have the muff and more than happy with it, so not going to forgo it :)
      Played a gig with cover band a couple of years back and used it through my dsl on classic gain channel (fairly cleanish as it was for 70s rock covers) but for leads only and it sounded good to me.

      @@Foghornish I agree. I personally like both super clean sounds as well as the stereotypical 70s tones. I feel like a guitar legend when I play the simplest of things just because of the way it vibrates me. I haven’t sold it I’ve kept it and still playing around with it. I think if you’re planning on getting a H&K spirit and you want a nice piece to look at and wanna shake the buildings it’s way worth it. 200W is a lot and I only play on the 2W setting.
