Happy birthday to you Phoebe!! Your story about your aunt really touched me (I had to grab a tissue). Experiences are SO much more important than things. I read about the Ghan yesterday and thought...nah. After watching your video I want to do the entire trip from Darwin to Adelaide!! I'll be checking it out! Thanks for another amazing video!!

I did the ghan a few months after you, in October. Same direction too. Was such a privilege doing that same first excursion. Was amazed by the whole experience on board and off board. It was not just the highlight of that trip to oz but also my whole life. What a special reason you had to do the trip. My aunt had a similar experience with cancer. Awww Pheobe...The story you shared about your Aunty and the reason for this trip on The Ghan moved me so much 💔😥 Thanks for sharing your special experience with us..I really Enjoyed this and has me wanting to see all the beautiful places in Australia..And a Happy Balated Birthday 2U Pheobe!! 🥳🎉🥂💝🎂👍 ❤️😭
Wow Phoebe, first of all a Happy Birthday to you. Now we've been travelling from Darwin to Alice by campervan a couple of years ago. Actually the Ghan extention to Darwin had just been finished. So, as you know we've been in Australia 5 times an still there are some things on our bucket list. One of them is a long train trip. Either the Indian Pacific or The Ghan. Or even better: both! Thanks for sharing your personal story about your aunt.🙏🏻 Made me shed a tear. And once again thanks for your video. 😊We're planning another trip for the end of 2023, this is an option, in the itinerary on flying into Brisbane, than do the Ghan, celebrate NYE in Sydney and take a trip to Melbourne for the Australian Open. 😁
Wow, Dennis! Sounds like you have some amazing trips coming up! Doing this trip has inspired me to do a slow road trip through the centre of Australia at some point in the future too. The landscape was so beautiful I wish we'd had more time at each spot we'd visited :) Thanks for watching and for the lovely comment. Have a great day - Phoebe x
What a great video, thank you Phoebe! Next May I will be traveling from the USA to Australia. I’m actually flying into Brisbane. Definitely have to make my first stop Australia Zoo. I’m coming down to ride the Ghan in both directions, from Darwin to Adelaide. Then the following day boarding for the northbound track from Adelaide back to Darwin. Then, catching a flight from Darwin to Sydney, and taking their sister train, the Indian Pacific from Sydney to Perth. Spending the night, and then the following morning boarding the eastbound train from Perth all the way back to Sydney. Before spending some time in Sydney and visiting some friends in Melbourne. Before I fly back to America after about 25 days. I could think of no better way to experience you’re a great country. Thanks for the look into the southbound trip of The Ghan. Can’t wait to experience this for myself.
My hubby and I were on the same trip. It was very organised excursions and the staff on the Ghan do a exceptional job. We saw Phoebe too. You do a great job.
loved this So much , and the beds look comfortable for real ☺. thank you so, so very much for sharing the story about your aunt , and that message really touched my heart sending lots of love and happy belated birthday 🌺 phoebe 🤗
thank you so much for taking us along on this experience! also happy belated birthday! never been to Australia, but your continent looks stunning. I love all of your guys videos, so well put together and made with love. I'm sure I speak for many people in saying I appreciate you being vulnerable and opening up about your aunt and that time of your life. you are so strong and a wonderful person. once again a great video guys, keep it up l, and I hope yall are taking care of yourselves and doing well. ❤️ love you and Matt
Thank you so much, Kyle! I can't tell you how much we both appreciate you *seeing* all the hard work that goes into these episodes, it's incredibly validating (especially on the hard days!) Your comment was so lovely to read, so thank you for taking the time to share it - you've no idea just how much it means :) Have a wonderful day ahead and thank you for all your kindness, love and support. Phoebe x
Thank you for talking about your aunty. I'm sitting here wiping tears from my eyes because I'm sort of going through a similar experience. My dad is in his 90s and I have no idea how long he has left. He has always wanted to go on the Ghan, so I've quietly mentioned to my brother that we should do it. Hoping Dad hangs on for a couple of years, so we can get the time and funds together and have a family trip.
I have checked out The Ghan much times before, but so far not gotten the time to actually do this trip. Happy that you are sharing this with us. Nitmiluk Gorge is cool! Right on the lake with those crocodiles around you. What an amazing environment. I felt so sad when you were telling about your auntie. You touched me with this 🥹. Thank you for opening up and willing to share this. Simpsons gap is a great walk as well. Those rocks are just fantastic. That dinner with live music was so atmospheric. I want to make sure I’ll not miss out on that one on the day that I am going to do The Ghan. By the way, Happy Birthday Phoebe 🥳! I didn’t know there was a place where people live completely underground. Very interesting though. This was an exciting episode, thanks for sharing and have an amazing week ahead 🤙
I can definitely see you on The Ghan, Felix! I think you'd love the way you get to experience the Aussie landscape - even when you're on the train eating you're still sightseeing and watching the landscape change as you move across the country is so special. If there's anyone out there giving life their all, it's YOU! You're always planning an adventure and going after it :) So inspiring!
Great again guys. What an experience. That gorge looked amazing. You are so right about needing to do this stuff while we can. No-one knows what's round the corner.
Thanks for sharing this awesome video. Happy birthday Phoebe! 🥳 🎂 I’m so sorry to hear the loss of your aunty. This trip is very special for her. I wish I can experience it with my family one day. It’s so beautiful 🤩 Let’s make the rest of our life the best of our life.
A big Birthday Kiss to you Phoebe.💋💋 🎂🎂 A stunning video with a Beautiful Soundtrack. You were so informative about the Ghan. Harriet and I had never heard about it. Yet we went to Ayers Rock. Definitely, we want to ride the Ghan. My late mom would have loved it. Read our message below about putting things off. This video was special. Thank You. Harriet and Jim
Wow, what a beautiful video, there's so much to unpack here. First of all, happy belated birthday Phoebe! Second, thank you for sharing your aunt's story. I lost my MIL to breast cancer last year, so I have seen up close and personal what any kind of regret looks like on the deathbed. And lastly, love the aesthetic of this video, which I think superbly captures the spirit of the places you visited. Thank you for your work, both of you. ❤
Thanks so much for the lovely comment, Aparna, and for sharing your own story about your mother in law. Seeing someone else's regret is heartbreaking but there's a lot to learn from it, huh. I'm grateful I got to be there with my Aunt at the end, as awful as it was. Thank you so much for the kind words about our video and the birthday wishes. I hope you have a wonderful day ahead, Phoebe xx
Hallo how l am appreciate two of these episodes actually not much of display pictures movement eventually a little of views and also very beautifully scene the steps you go all are amazing in nature all facility are popular great thanks as all.

So courageous of you to share your aunty's story ❤ I'm sure she was with you all the way. Did you really say 'Let's order breakfast and enjoy the sunset' 🤣 Happy birthday and wishing you many more! 🥳🎊🎉

I'm so sorry to hear about your aunt, may she rest in peace. I totally agree, more people should step out of their comfort zone and do things they've wanted to do before it's too late. Now I get that some people don't have the means to travel or do things they want to do. I'm lucky that I make a good living and can afford to travel the world. And Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday Phoebe! :D🎉That was really heartbreaking to hear about your Aunty. It sounds like the Ghan was the perfect choice after all.☺ Wishing you and Matt all the best moving forward. :)
Thanks so much, Ben! It felt amazing to finally go on The Ghan and just reinforced why Matt and I quit our jobs and decided to make our lives about what we truly love: travel. Hope you have a beautiful day ahead - Phoebe x

This is the first ever vid I watched of you and I subscribed straight away! Loved all of it, love how genuine you are. I was wondering, is the Ghan suitable for kiddos? Is there anything for them to do? Any cabins suitable to families? Thanks for this great video! Also, happy birthday :)
Oh my gosh, thank you so much Carmelle - can't tell you just how much we appreciate the kindness and support! It's not experience geared towards kids but they are welcome. Eddie who was on our journey did everything the adults did and loved it and, if you do a search on TH-cam for Flying The Nest, our friend's Stephen and Jess did the journey with their toddler, Hunter. Their video may show the experience from a parents perspective travelling with a little one :)
What s the name of the second song u did used in your video ? So much beautiful that song is but couldn't found it! Plz recommend the name of the song plz❤
Well timed question cos we used new cameras for this one and I LOVE them! We used two Nikon cameras: Z30 and Z6II + two DJI pieces: the pocket osmo and a drone
Nice video thanks guys and superb photography Matt. We did The Ghan in year one of COVID when prices were half price and loved it. We did the Great Southern the following year and it was a far lesser experience. Quite curious, same company, identical rolling stock, but poor service and cranky uninterested staff. I wrote a polite and constructive letter of complaint but never got a reply.
Thanks so much, Mark! I was blown away by Matt's videography on this one - he's amazing, huh. Oh WOW, what a great little hack there to get half price fares! You nailed it :) Good to hear about the comparison between The Ghan and Great Southern!
Thanking to you l am very much like injoy this video apps it help to see a lot of beautiful scenery some thing like rock mountain which red colour pictures admire adventure huge areas of land broadly you are wear clothes so math of this dwelling film never compare any things good thanks .

If there's anyone out there giving life their all, it's YOU! You're always planning an adventure and going after it :) So inspiring!
Great again guys. What an experience. That gorge looked amazing. You are so right about needing to do this stuff while we can. No-one knows what's round the corner.
The gorge was a huge highlight for me! So beautiful 😻 thanks for watching. Have a great week xx
A fan I am from 🇨🇦
Such an elegant and fine way you have of presenting on your channel.
Truly unique in this TH-cam world of

@@travelforphoebe Hi Phoebe. My pleasure! Thank you for being so optimistic and positive! Enjoy the beautiful Brisbane weather. Have a great week!

Love this video! You capture the best of the best. Glad you got to do this trip in honor of your late Aunt.
Can I ask where is your hat from?
Thank you 🙏🏼 it’s an Akubra 😊♥️
A big Birthday Kiss to you Phoebe.💋💋 🎂🎂 A stunning video with a Beautiful Soundtrack. You were so informative about the Ghan. Harriet and I had never heard about it. Yet we went to Ayers Rock. Definitely, we want to ride the Ghan. My late mom would have loved it. Read our message below about putting things off. This video was special. Thank You. Harriet and Jim
Thank you so much, Harriet and Jim! Uluru is a pretty special spot, huh! I hope to visit one day.
Hi Phoebe. We were actually on that same trip as you and you have captured it so well.

Thanks so much, Vergel!! Hope you're keeping well. Phoebe x
And lots of love for Matt ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you for watching 🙌🏻😊
I'm so sorry to hear about your aunt, may she rest in peace. I totally agree, more people should step out of their comfort zone and do things they've wanted to do before it's too late. Now I get that some people don't have the means to travel or do things they want to do. I'm lucky that I make a good living and can afford to travel the world. And Happy Birthday!
I hear you there! So blessed to be able to travel like we do and make the most of each opportunity we can. Thanks for watching ♥️
Happy Birthday Phoebe! :D🎉That was really heartbreaking to hear about your Aunty. It sounds like the Ghan was the perfect choice after all.☺
Wishing you and Matt all the best moving forward. :)

American cow boy films it has so amazing thanking you as all .
Thank you so much for watching this one :) Have a good day!
Great video! What’s the camera you guys shoot with?
Well timed question cos we used new cameras for this one and I LOVE them! We used two Nikon cameras: Z30 and Z6II + two DJI pieces: the pocket osmo and a drone
Darwin 😍 hope to beautiful experience 😉
👋👋
Hope you liked the episode!
Happy belated being born day. Leos rule!!!!!!
