Just got home from this experience and am currently booking back in for next year. It was AMAZING! But so many kids were standing on the reef. People, please if you go here or anywhere on the Great Barrier Reef, it's a protected marine park, be kind and gentle and treat it with the respect it deserves
YES! Totally agree, Hannah! It’s incredibly frustrating seeing people not follow basic instructions when visiting the reef. So glad you called it out 🙌🏻 and also so happy you had an amazing stay and have re-booked ♥️♥️♥️
Hiya 👋, Airlie Beach seems so quiet and nice. I’m glad you didn’t get boat sick. That reefsuite is probably the best possible room you’ll ever get. It seems like you said “Felix” instead of “feel like” at 3:32 😆. That snorkeling is amazing. Wish I was there swimming right now instead of being stuck at home with my broken elbow. That sunset is gorgeous 🌅. The Great Barrier Reef is definitely on top of my bucket list 🤤. When I thought the sunset is the most beautiful thing on your trip, I hadn’t seen the sunrise, which is even better 🥹. The diving is definitely something I’d do! I missed diving as my last dive was in 2018, except for a scuba review last month as preparation for my Mexico trip in November. Your trip is truly amazing, I wish there were longer trips on the Great Barrier Reef like a week or 2 of cruising, it’s such a zen adventure. Thanks for sharing and have a great week ahead 🤙
@@travelforphoebe Yes, 2 weeks ago when I was biking to the Municipality office to get my passport renewed, someone stepped from the pavement onto the bike lane without looking for traffic. I tried braking and ringing my bell, but then the guy went even further on the bike lane instead of going back onto the pavement. So I had to avoid a collision with the guy and tried to get around him. By doing that, my front wheel went off the bike lane into the sand and I fell. The first two days I was in terrible pain, but now recovery is going well. I have to do exercises to get the strength back in my hand. Will take 3-4 more weeks from here to recover they say.
Oh no, that's terrible!! You poor thing, that must have been incredibly painful. The rehabilitation will be tough too, I imagine. Sending you lots of good wishes for a speedy recovery, Felix! P x
Love your videos! As an Australian, it’s so wonderful to see an Australian TH-camr who speaks in a clear, nice sounding cultivated Australian accent without the use of Australian slang.
I have now added it to my bucket list. That looks amazing! I so enjoy being in the water and the calm you get and you just showed it to the max. The food looks amazing.
I hope you get to visit, Sandra! I've visited the reef many times but waking up there, seeing the sunrise and sunset, being under the stars, it was amazing! Truly once in a lifetime :)
Thanks so much for this awesome video. We’re looking to book this experience when we’re doing our first trip to Australia in February. We’re hoping the summer weather there cooperates! 🤞🏻
Harriet and I did the same tour many years ago. We did the Boat Tour with Snorkeling . Also did the Glass Bottom Boat and Sub Tour. Got to see the fabulous sea life along the Great Barrier Reef. Great Memories on this trip. You too will treasure those memories. Thank you so much for taking us along. Love you Guys!💖💖💖 Harriet, Jim and Yuki. Richmond, Va.
WOW!! What an experience!! We weren't planning on going that far north - may have to rethink this! The Ghan is out due to the time of year (heat) so perhaps we can continue north to Arlie Beach and the Whitsundays! Excellent video Phoebe and Matt!
Ahhh yes, the heat wouldn’t be ideal for the Ghan in the summer months that’s for sure! At least at the beach spots you can jump on and cool down 😍 the Whitsundays is paradise on earth! Hope you get to visit Celia xx
Hi guys, thanks for the cool video, it's definitely on the bucket list! Someone once told me chewing on a bit of raw ginger helps with sea sickness/motion sickness. Wearing motion sickness bands and taking Kewells about 20 minutes before boarding any vessel are good options too but can be a little bit hit-and-miss depending on the individual. Feeling sick whilst traveling sucks, I hope that helps!
Thanks so much for the tips! I can take the sea-sickness medication but I'm super sensitive to anything that has a remote possibility of making you drowsy haha so I take it and then BAM I'm out cold and can't vlog anything hahaha it's like I just have to risk getting sick to be able to film the video! But I gotta say, taking the medication the night before really helped!! The bands and ginger have not been helpful in the past but I'm keen to try those funny looking goggle with the water in them!!
Thank you so l am very like watching about philippines is it so nice look like small country not quite developing simple it also rather beauty l have injoy it great thanks for video .
No we haven’t and I would LOVE to!! It’s meant to be gorgeous. Yeah I think they’re reasonably popular, maybe not as popular as Bali and Thailand but pretty close.
Thanks for sharing your experience with Whitsundays. The accommodations and food on the book look amazing. What else is inculed in the booking with Whitsundays over night stay in pods?
Hi guys - My wife and I will be in Australia from the UK in 4 weeks time and we've been watching all your fantastic videos to help us plan our trip. While we are in the Gold Coast we'll be celebrating my wife's 74th birthday and I would love to surprise her with a hat like Phoebe's which she admires every time we see her wear it! Can you share where I might be able to buy one? We'll be in Sydney for a few days before the Gold Coast so maybe I could pick one up there? Thank you so much for the videos - really great stuff!
Oh my gosh that’s so sweet! My hat is an Akubra, the style is called ‘Coober Pedy’ and it’s in the sand colour. You should be able to order one online but I’d recommend buying in person so you can get the size right. I wear a 52 I think, I like my hat nice and loose 😊 if you take good care of them, an Akubra will last a lifetime!
Is there limited space for luggage on board? We are backpacking and the amount of luggage we would have going to somewhere like is always something to bear in mind.
So beautiful. I’ve lived in Queensland since 1994 and haven’t visited Whitsundays either. I first visited Cairns back 3 years ago and Townsville just late last year. Hope you’ve had a nice stay. Cheers from Gold Coast
Hahaha I get seasick badly so I know the anxiety! It’s roped down I guess but its not fixed like you’re hoping it is 😂 you should definitely take seasick tablets because it could be bumpy if the weather is rough. You may also get sick on the boat ride out. I ALWAYS get sick but didn’t on this trip - BUT I took sealegs the night before we went and the night we stayed. The weather was super calm too which helped 🙏🏼
@@travelforphoebe amazing! thankyou so much for your reply, I've been trying to convince my partner to do it but he refuses to anything that'll make him sea sick 😂 might have to book it and beg for forgiveness while he spends the trip hanging over the railing hahahaha
