Hi Chazz, thanks for the video, it's been a great help in replacing the driveshaft on my X-type Jag.

Yeah the x-type Jag and another one share the same engine and some other parts. I guess i could add the jag to the channel as there similar. Glad the video help John. Cheers

Nice video, thanks. What about that circlip on the gearbox end of the driveshaft? How does that go in? Doesn't it get wrecked when you hammer the shaft into the box? Trying to do mine now (x-type, same shaft). Thanks.

Nice motor is the x-type jag. Was adviced that the clip is fine once back in place.

@@ChazzCoombes You're right, circlip is no problem. Thanks. Done a couple of these now. Here's a time saver: Just remove one bolt! Take out the bolt which holds the front of the wishbone to the subframe. Loosen the rear wishbone bolt. Now swing out the wishbone, using the rear bolt as a hinge. This gives you enough room to pull the driveshaft, without removing anything else. Pop new shaft in, push wishbone back into place, tighten it all up and you're good to go. 45 minute driveshaft swap, that can't be bad!

What was the axle nuts torque spec?

    Hi Chazz,
Been a longtime watcher. Thanks for all your help.
I’ve replaced my passenger driveshaft with the same exact one you’ve got here and followed the process. I’ve also changed both wishbones and shocks and springs.
I went to give a test drive today and I’m getting big knock between 1st and reverse when clutch is released. Engine seems to be torquing a bit when going from 1 and reverse.
No idea what’s going on and can’t work out why it isn’t working.
Any ideas would be great mate thanks

Nice job mate, but I'm going to give you an advice: you may remove before the fill screw than the drain screw (gearbox)

Hi Chazz - really informative video and thanks for posting up. Really is a helpful guide.
My Mondeo nearside outer driveshaft boot has split and instead of replacing just the boot by splitting the driveshaft apart, I am going to do what you did - replace the full component.
Can I ask which brand of driveshaft you went for please ? I don't want to be doing this job again in 6 months because of some chocolate brand. I am a bit out of depth knowing which brands are good, which did Ford use even. Thank you.
