I agree 100% with you Granger our church is doing a morning devotional online and an evening service for Christmas Eve. I would much rather do service in the morning because I always go to my mom's for supper on Christmas Eve.
My church in SC is having just morning service but no Sunday school. I am not there but will watch online and plan to attend an afternoon evening service here in VA. Christmas movies that are a must watch for me The Homecoming (prequel to the Waltons tv series), Miracle on 34th Street and Its A Wonderful Life. I wish people a Merry Christmas because that is what I celebrate, but if I know they celebrate something else, I will tell them that.
We need to pray more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Prayer is the key to changing things. As for the statue, that is horrible to allow that to go on. But prayer is still the key no matter the situation
Our church is having our regular Sunday schedule for the morning and a Christmas Eve candlelight service in the evening. Our Pastor said exactly the same as Granger. It’s Sunday so we run the same schedule for everyone to have a place to come. Merry Christmas to you all!!! Glad you and London are home safe.
Appreciate the trip update, Granger! Glad you gave London that experience. Her life will be forever changed because of it. For me, where Christmas falls doesn't have any influence on my attendance at church services. I think going every Sunday is very important, and whether it falls on or near a holiday shouldn't change that. I also don't think there should be an additional service when Christmas doesn't fall on a Sunday. I don't observe Christmas as a religious holiday. I observe it as a family day. My primary reason for that is because I see nothing in the Bible about the early church observing the anniversary of the birth of Christ. I think we should daily observe the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Christ, in our words and actions. I'm not bothered if people do want to acknowledge the birth of Christ in their Christmas celebrations, but it's just not a part of mine. I do appreciate Granger acknowledging that the birth of Christ was definitely not December 25th. That date doesn't really measure up with historical data. Whether a person says Merry Christmas, Happy Christmas (for the Brits), or Happy Holidays to me, I think the appropriate response is, "thank you", and then I respond in the way that feels best to me. I'm not about to cause a scene about it. The "war on Christmas" is mostly something certain groups came up with to have something to whine about and argue about with others. I have no interest in any of that. Favorite Christmas movie - The Bishop's Wife with Cary Grant and David Niven. As for Elf...not a fan. Finally made myself watch it all the way through a couple of years ago, and that's something I never need to watch again. I also love the claymation show, "Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town. Love these episodes with the three brothers sitting around talking about stuff. Please keep them coming! Merry Christmas to all of you! Happy Holiday! Happy New Year!
Love the podcast, Merry Christmas to the YEEYEE family would love to see London and get her experience on the trip to Latin America,, to me the solstice is on the 20th and a shorter day, I wont celebrate Christmas this year I am alone, but the church is the best day, I am 78 but I do believe Christmas is the birth of our Savior, no one is going to tell me not to say Merry Christmas, I respect others but others respect my saying , an again Wishing the YEEYEE family, the Smiths and may God Bless 🙏🌲🌲❤
God sent his son do you not believe?!! You could live FOREVER wouldn't that be insane bro! Think about it, say there is a pile of sticks in perfect order you would think for sure that someone put them there right? So it's the same with the world God created you and me perfectly and all the animals and the trees don't you believe God would've had to put us here
I have no problem with Happy Holidays…and will respond typically with Merry Christmas…It does hurt my heart when people/companies/etc go out of their way to not say or place Christmas signs but have no problem putting up Happy Hanukah or Happy Kwanza signs.
Many aspects of peganism have bled over into Christianity over the past 2000 years. The only holiday Jesus commanded us to observe is the Lord's evening meal. But Christmas is great. I love everything about it but its just not biblical. Great episode! Yee Yee
Christmas service should be open to attend, it is a choice. There are people who worship satan. They do believe in God/Jesus because satan knows He is real! But satan will do anything to make people not worship the One True God-Jesus. So what better way then to make followers think THEY are a god. I also prefer to be told Merry Christmas then Happy Holidays. This year I will say not one person (retailer etc) has replied back to me with Happy Holidays, which was very surprising and yet pleasant to hear. Recently learned the meaning of X-mas too, now I'm not so against it. More to study though to confirm this information. Welcome back home Granger and London, hope to hear more about this mission trip. Merry Christmas to all The Smith's Families. ~ Texas
That was great, you guys! Always enjoy your podcast! You should have London come on with you and have her tell her stories of the trip! That would be fun! 🥰 Parker, you do great voice over with Miracle on 34th Street! That was perfect! 😁🥰 Loved it! Merry Christmas to all your families! YeeYee! 🎄❤️💚🌟🎁
William J Federer has a book called There really is a Santa Claus. I heard him talk about this book. He includes a the History about Saint Nicolas. I bet it is a good & interesting read.
The Nativity is well done. Our tradition is to watch it Christmas Eve In no order... A Charlie Brown Christmas Home Alone Christmas with the Kranks It's a Wonderful Life And if you don't think Die Hard is a Christmas movie, you might be an Arminian. 😊
I have never seen “It’s A Wonderful Life”. The only Christmas movies that you guys mentioned that I have seen is all the “Home Alone” movies and Elf, but have never seen any of the other ones…
Where has the year went? Wow, I can't believe 2024 will be here in 11 days...CRAZY...I like to say, "Merry Christmas" but, never really thought about just saying, "Happy Holidays"...Enjoy your Christmas and wishing everyone out there a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and SAFE HOLIDAYS...Love Hugs Happiness and Prayers...💗😇🙏🏻
It really bothers me when people say merry xmas because they are taking Christ out of Christmas. I work at a grocery store and they want us to say happy holidays instead of Merry Christmas so as not to offend any customers that don't celebrate Christmas but I want to keep christ in Christmas so I say Merry Christmas it has started alot of great conversations.
My husband thinks Christmas is pagan. I do not. I was raised a Methodist. He is in Church of God. But I also respect others beliefs. And was taught not to judge others. However my husband does. How should I handle our differences?
Regarding saying Happy Holidays or Merry Christmas. In terms of what I will say, I say Merry Christmas. Absolutely no one should be compelled to say Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays or anything else for that matter. I object when I'm told I can't, or ought not say Merry Christmas. Some will argue not everyone celebrates Christmas. This is true, but not everyone celebrates every holiday. No one objects to people saying, Happy earth day etc.. Furthermore, Christmas is a day, and while for those who don't celebrate, treat it like any other, they'd not object to me saying, on any other day, "Have a nice day." Saying Merry Christmas doesn't mean you celebrate Christmas, but means you hope the one you're saying it to has a merry Christmas day. That's my 25 cents (inflation).
Christmas is a "Christian" holiday, if you're not cool with that, then don't celebrate Christmas....I find it funny how my atheist boss took Christmas eve and Christmas off...yet I'm working 😂
8:38 😅Parkers Question 'How did the YeeYee Hat holdup'? Then, the Smiths brothers smiles...priceless. ... back to the survival gear.

Merry Christmas Yee Yee, Smith Family. May God's blessings and favor flow over you and yours. Thanks for all you do.😊

@ty I don't like camping either, being from maine people find that odd. 😂
I absolutely hate it when people say merry Xmas
Is there a place to donate things ? Or mail stuff? Duct tape and soap?
It really bothers me when people say merry xmas because they are taking Christ out of Christmas.
