    “It costs you nothing to be a good person” if more people could understand that, the world would be a better place.

      Hate to be that guy, but it can definitely cost you to be a good person. Doesn't mean you shouldn't try, but it certainly can backfire.

      @@zackhurwitz9441Can’t stand people who say this smh. Being a good person doesn’t mean being a dumb one or allowing others to step on you.

      @@DanTejedaFit Some people are very good liars, and sometimes the circumstances can't be helped. Sometimes you just lose for doing the right thing.
      Pretend you've never been taken advantage of, or that you've never lost if you want, but we both know different.

      @@DanTejedaFit I don’t think he was talking about being dumb. I think he was referring to moral courage. Most people know the right path but refuse to walk it because it’s the hard path. Doing the right thing sometimes costs a promotion or an opportunity. Doing the right thing can absolutely be costly. But I suppose that’s not always the same thing as just being nice to someone.

    Are you going to be at the Arnold? I think you could get Thor on your podcast pretty easily if you asked, he does podcasts/interviews quite often. Would be fascinating to hear more about his powerlifting goals
    Someone else who would be AWESOME is Sebastian Oreb (Australianstrengthcoach)

    When Dan started talking about intaking information. It’s very crucial. We had a new guy move to my gym and he had randomly gave me cues while I was squatting. Which I’ve been wanting since most of my powerlifting buddies moved away. The guy cueing me moved from Kabuki down to my area. He has helped me greatly within the last few weeks. Where things that didn’t click now click. All in all I love Dan Bell’s take on being receptive to knowledge and information from people.

      I totally agree I'm into Raw lifting no bulshit or gimmicks he's legit holds the all-time world record three lift total without all that crap lifting gear the only problem is he gets no recognition I never heard of him and I follow powerlifting and weightlifting I wish this sport was more popular. When you Google who's the strongest powerlifter ever he ain't even in the list check it out and he should be.

    Out of curiosity, I’m 27 years old, bench 150kg, deadlift 230kg and squat 180kg at 75kg bodyweight - should I get on gear to go further? I’ve been training for 15 years. (Genuinely wanna see what the comment section thinks)

      @Oho159 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      nah too soon.

    • @tylerstronk
      @tylerstronk ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No. Unless you know so much about training, fatigue management, nutrition, and decreasing stressers. Maybe or maybe not you can probably move up 1-3 weight classes. Push volume on your accessories keep the big 3 on maintenance for bit ie train to get as big as you can. Really understand hypertrophy training than so can maximize that without getting weaker.
      Until you gather so much information and propertly train hard and effectively I don't care how old or how much experience someone has. If you don't understand everything you're doing to a t you don't have any business hoping on gear.

    • @razman95x
      @razman95x ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tylerstronk that’s a very good point - for a bit of history I previously weighed 120kg and was bodybuilding (badly) over a period of 5 years I learnt a lot and dropped down to 75kg (no focus on powerlifting).
      5 years on from there I’ve been training for strength and all my lifts have gone up by a significant amount. In the process I broke L5 in my back, tore a pec, fucked up thoracic spine etc and came back from all of those injuries over the last 2 years to where now I’m able to train again, have earned back my old lifts and would feel comfortable talking about nearly any topic when it comes to performance with references to studies and books etc (not peer studies, actual studies).
      I understand it all, the only thing I don’t understand because I have 0 experience with is taking the gear itself lol

    • @tylerstronk
      @tylerstronk ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @razman95x with injury list like that gear can very possibly make things worst. Because we know what gear can do like increase in strength and size by very degrees. It's bell curve effect, so it'll be based on someone's genetic response and quality of the gear.
      But along with that being that injury prone naturally at that young of age , I strongly suggest not hope on. You can take so many bad injuries. I really only see gear exacerbate that even more rather make things better.

    • @razman95x
      @razman95x ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tylerstronk aaaaaah that’s true but I was also doing a lot shit wrong, hydration was poor, nutrition was focussed on the wrong things and to lose that weight I was training twice a day for literally the whole time so I think I just fucked myself rather than being injury prone. But yeah that’s a fair point. My initial interest was honestly to try to bolster up injury prevention but I hadn’t considered the strength increase potentially making that worse
