Really great insight that most anglers overlook. The factor of wire diameter was an eye opener for me many (many) years ago. As a builder of in-line spinners for muskies I kept making lures with thicker and thicker wire to help keep 'em from getting all bent up on fish that are often (a lot) larger than the bass most folks catch. It seemed that after a time my spinners were less and less effective even while guys with me were catching fish on stuff they'd bought at the store. I believe it was an article I read where Lonnie Stanley mentioned the diameter/vibration connection. Went back to the beginning and used "flimsier" wire and bingo! Catching more fish again 😊 I do carry remedial tools and extra wire shafts in the boat in the event I need to rebuild a lure bent beyond proper function. Details, details, details... I will use a spunnerbait 90% of fishing trips. Best 2 river spinnerbaits I've ever used, are strike king kvd series, and Nicholas lures spinnerbaits. Stright out package, best 2 I've fished. I've tried 100 diffrent brands, blade configurations, colors. Spot remover, and white chartreuse, 2 best colors. The 5lb 8oz, came on a chartreuse, white. But for numbers, kvd spot remover color. Great video.
When tossing spinnerbaits I don’t throw a trailer or a trailer hook. What I have done though is cut the skirt so it is even or a mm longer than the back of the hook. My hookup percentage went through the roof because when they hit the skirt they were into the hook too. Before that they would grab and let go of the longer skirts without ever getting near the kook. Great video lots of great info.

Good information. All ad some information for trailer hooks if you want them too run straight behind the main hook and not be bouncing around like you explained. The piece off tubing that's used too keep the trailer hook as a keeper do this with the piece off tubing before, just slide the piece off tubing over the eye off the trailer hook and then slide the trailer hook over the spinnerbait hook it will run true behind the spinnerbait, hope this can help someone 👍
Love my Terminator titanium wire baits in several sizes. Basically indestructible, great balance and action. I've caught lots of big pike as well as musky without damage. But I've caught many many small mouth on the little Strike King 1/8 oz. Just killer, my go to.
Always the best information. I am not a huge spinnerbait guy. I know they catch fish. I use them. Now I have more to look at when I buy the few that I do

War Eagle is a decent value, a few bucks more will get you into Nichols, a few more will get you a Megabass which has its place and time. If price doesn’t matter Deps makes some of the highest all around quality. Did you ever check out the Imakatsu Helter Twister spinnerbaits I told you about last year? 🤑 Imakatsu makes lots of very nice looking softbaits too. Their newest being the (Huddle swimmer,Huddle Gill) 🤠
I think Berkley has the best spinnerbaits out right now they are right there with the Booyah Covert spinnerbaits, in my opinion the only way Berkley spinnerbaits could be any better is if they use Hildebrant blades
You are the man. Why are most spinnerbaits now have the "R" bend without a split ring to support. years past it was a circle bend was a lot stronger to boat fish and rebend many times without fail.

I saw you testing out some of the Picasso spinners (a company I’ve come to really like), that looked great as well. I love what they’re doing with the hybrid blades. Here’s a completely unfair question…. If you could only pick one model what would it be?
i’ve got this booyah spinner bait it has an action i’ve never seen before i don’t know what to think of it it’s a colorado blade but the blade doesn’t flutter like every other blade i’ve ever used it SPINS in a circle when i first threw it it totally threw me off i don’t now if that’s good or bad or why it’s designed that way or what situation would make me want to use that type of blade action anyone know what i’m talking about?
