Ten years ago, being from south Louisiana where everything is 10 feet deep, I’d have never watched this video. I now live in Northwest Arkansas and am struggling with deep clear water. Thank you!!
The biggest bass I ever caught on a spinnerbait was throwing a 1 3/8oz bottom dweller in about 20ft of water on toledo bend. I like throwing them in the post spawned and pre spawn on humps and ledges. I agree whole heartily I don't think people throw them very often for some reason. Great video as always keepem coming man!!!
Really heavy, big bladed spinner baits got me a 7lb 1oz and about 12 casts later a 6lb 14oz almost twin 2 days ago. Once you gain confidence in this technique it really gets addictive.
It's crazy to because people will be fishing with me and see me tie on "ole painless" and they laugh and can't believe I throw a bait like that. It don't always work but when it does it's magical.
I have a couple of heavy spinnerbaits but never thought about using them instead of deep crank baits! That's a very interesting Idea! Especially in a deep river! Nice!
Only recently did I start catching on spinnerbaits. I always used them shallow and fished more finesse style lures. That being said, I have seen these and would love to try them.
@@MattStefanFishing Glad to get an answer. Have you also tried the super heavy chatterbaits? I accidentally got sent some of the 1.25oz Jackhammers, they are interesting and run deep on a steady retrieve.
I like to put an extra hook on the back of my spinner bait with a keeper for the hook to work well for short striking bass. Mostly just throw half once spinner baits due to my stores not carrying anything bigger
Matt, you need to open a tackle store! Just went over to your TW affiliate page and every one of these 1oz Picasso Bluff Divers were on backorder! And this isn't the first time! Don't know what your comp arrangement is with TW but it may be time for renegotiation! 😅
All spinnerbaits do the same thing. I don't know why people keep putting these videos out over and over. It's time we think outside the box. The industry needs someone like me.
Matt, good come back on day two of the BpT. Way to come back inside the check line.

Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice comeback on Day 2. Second largest total weight out of 40 anglers. Glad you were in the money! From 40th to 18th is a great comeback!!
The lost art of slow rolling…20 years ago it was all I wanted to do. Good stuff Matt and heckuva comeback, from zero to check!!!

I have used the Ledge Buster for years with success. I mix it up with crankbaits. You never know what they will bite.

Spinnerbaits are my favorite for 'search baits'.. the different blade types per retrieve speed

Give it a trt

You can remove the rubber from rubber core sinkers and clamp them to the hook shank of any spinnerbait to get them down deep.
Yep
Great video --I don't know why I stopped using a spinnerbait you just talked me back into it again !!!!!

Nice comeback on day 2 Matt. Nice job...never give up!!!
I always had a chance with a spinner bait. It never fails for me
Nice!

Haha i should renegotiate i guess
Love a spinner bait. Generally catch them in shallow water. Going to try a heavier one now Matt. ✌️🎣
go for it
good tip, Matt. I’ve been crawling a underspin in ditches/drains, but I bet that Picasso 1oz would be great option now as well.
Cool stuff. That's definitely a technique I could use here on Beaver.
If put a trailer on a spinner bait it is either a power stinger or single tail grub.
Sounds good
Thanks Matt
That ledge buster was good on Eufaula in years past.
🍺You finished higher than your roommates Gill and Sheffield this week🤑.
Thanks for reminding me !🎣🎣🎣🎣
Do you prefer to not run a trailer just on deep spinners? In past videos you emphasized using trailers to add bulk? Congrats on the big day 2
Nice one bro

A top 20 - nice ! AOY points, he'll ya'
On to the next one. $$$$
Don't use more than 1/2 oz unless I'm fishing the Delta or catfishing.
Use what works for you
5 feet is deep? Wow. Out west 50 feet is pretty shallow.
Thanks for watching
