    35-50 Foot HUMPBACK Whale....Which is not fully mature somehow got lost inside the VENTURA HARBOR MARINA
    on this weekend afternoon. It is migration season from the Colder North to the Warmer Southern waters of Mexico. Ventura is part of the CHANNEL ISLANDS National Park Reserve.
    the GREAT Whale Species Such as the GREAT BLUE WHALE
    The HUMPBACK and GRAY and KILLER ORCAS All Travel Between The Mainland Coast and The Islands Of SANTA CRUZ and ANACAPA....This region is very rich with many different marine species and birds. This whale, a healthy juvenile will be coaxed out to sea with use of an underwater Hydrophone to play other whale songs and hopefully it will soon join other pod members.

    I was on the top of my boat (last vessel, upper left) for HOURS enjoying the magnificent beauty of this gentle creature! Went to bed around 10 pm and he/she kept coming up for air every few minutes well past midnight. There were HUNDREDS of all ages watching from shore & cheering wildly every time the whale approached the rocks in 10 feet of water! HALLELUJAH!! We saved a whale!! 🐳✌🏼️❤️

    Best part is the encounter between the whale and the woman (5:30-6:05). It seems as if the whale spots the woman and then intentionally pivots hard so as to swim right by her. Even if the move wasn't intentional, I find the sequence very moving.

    • @Rosie_Rosebud

      On other channels of this encounter, there were some people calling her names and wishing she fell in.
      Those guys were just haters. Jealous they couldn't experience this too.

    Exciting to see this unique event. A little sad when we impose human feelings on what may have been going on. But as it turned out, the young whale made its way back to open waters sometime during the night. No sign of it by morning the next day.

      Thanks. I don't understand why so many people assume that this whale is lost. They navigate fine in complete darkness and know which way is north or south. It would be a simple matter for it to just go to the deeper, wider areas if it was trying to get out. It was curious. It was not showing any signs of distress. By the way, they can also see above the water whenever they want using their eyeballs.

  • @RogerDDog

    It looked like a juvenile. Awesome creature and awesome fascinating video. Relaxing too knowing it got out and went back to sea. Its also made me realise how Americans with boats have it made. Great facilities and weather. That's the way to do it! Watching such a wonderful creature was a real privilege! I wish I'd been there!

    I am so amazed by marine mammals (actually nature always amazes me) but marine mammals are just mesmerizing. Their sheer size, their diets, and their fish-like shapes despite being mammals (of course they should have fish- like shape coz they live in water). The fact that they breathe air but live in water alone got me thinking. I would probably cry out of amazement if I were there. How majestic!!

    My being a whale watcher for many years it appears to me that this humpback accidently found herself within the harbors break water and her migratory instincts guide her northbound however within the harbors boundaries all northbound paths are land licked. Her sonar appears to work as she stays pretty much centered between the slip fingers. Her periodic dives to the bottom could be her attempt to scratch off parasites which is what brings whales to shallow waters at times. But as she swims back and forth her sonar is unable to detect the opening at the end of the channel to the open sea. Most breakwaters are in the shape of the letter T with openings to the sides close to the top cross bar. As a whale swims toward the top cross bar it would have to get close to it before her sonar would reflect back and show her the openings to each side otherwise her sonar only reflects a dead end. Such was the case several years ago at MDR in L.A. if only someone in a kayak with a looped recording of whale song was available I'm sure they could have led her out of the harbor. Pied Piper style. I have attracted gray whales of of point Vincent's to my kayak in the past playing whale songs on my MP4 and speakers face down on floor of my kayak.

      @@PacificEagleAirCam7377 First time out I tried the whale song as I saw a grey heading my way surfacing every hundred yards. I was expecting her to surface maybe 50 yards in front of me so I could catch a photo of her but she didn't. Instead she stayed down the extra distance went under my kayak and surfaced not 3 ft behind me and blew. Scared the heck out of me. I almost flipped my own kayak wished I had my GoPro under water instead of mounted on my deck. But it was my first time out. Love and learn. Since then I've modified my kayak into a full on sailing yak mainsail & jib with outriggers, dagger board & rudder ship to shore hand held, GPS, MP4 sound system deck and underwater GoPro s. Over doubled my daily distance enabling close encounters with a Blue and a pod of Orca's.
      I'm 70yo this year and prepping to join the northbound migration in a couple weeks when the numbers are the highest.
      Keep Floating !

    I don't think it was lost or confused. I think it purposefully was looking for something on the bottom. It's stirring up a big mess of silt in the water. So it definitely looks like it was in "feed mode". At least too me it did.

      +Julie Sprik I know! I don't know if anyone else noticed how hard She bashed Her tail against the points of the bridges & She banged Her flippers, tail & the side of Her head numerous times. There was a Woman trying to stop Her hurting Herself whereas the Guy on the point to Her left was too busy gawking to bend down & protect Her tail. The Woman stopped Her banging Her tail & her head twice. There were 2 trails of blood coming from the Whale in the end. If She'd tried to breach in the air She'd have died a horrific death. Fantastic camera angle to watch this beautiful Whale from but harrowing & desolate as You so rightly put it footage! Thank God She got out but none the less She was bleeding :(

      Pacific Eagle Air Cam Thank God! I hope She wasn't trapped there for much longer. She injured Herself several times on the corners of the bridges jutting out. She was bleeding from them & had 2 distinct streams of blood trailing from Her by the end of this video. Only one Woman out of everyone watching Her bent down & put Her hands out to soften the blows & guide Her away from the sides. I also noted the Guy who moved His boat just in time. Doesn't the harbour have gates?

      @DL98 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rebekahlegionsundaygirljou5543 no that woman was just trying to touch it, also there was no blood it was probably just some durt under the bridge that got swept away by the wave.
      By the way I have no idea why you call the whale "she" could you please explain.

      Rebekah Legion SundayGirlJournals 😂 that whale could weigh anything up to 30 tonnes and you think a tiny human hand protected it from bashing it’s head😂 💜

      Dejohn Johnson Yep it felt much luv from all who hoped it would get out OK. The Pacific gets a green look sometimes in shallower water less than 109 ft. actually very clean in this marine reserve region. Mud look from bottom sand being whipped up. 👍

      @starrsnowden6103 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      another idiot, it looked like the animal was eating. not confused just found lots of food, like a bear in someones cabin. Just because the bear breaks the cabinet doors off to get the cereal we think it was confused.

    My impression is that's a juvenile? Can anyone confirm?

    • @PacificEagleAirCam7377
      @PacificEagleAirCam7377  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Steven Rhodes It’s been “Debated”
      But local Rangers and Game Wardens
      Used that term to describe its “Age” 👍🏼

    • @Intrepid175a
      @Intrepid175a 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the response. When I say "juvenile" in this context, I simply mean not fully grown. I've not been around humpback whales that often in my life and certainly never that close or in waters where I could easily see the entire animal all at once so I have no real frame of reference. Maybe those boats were a lot larger than I think they are but I was thinking that animal was on the small side, hence my question. :-)
