  • The first Saturday afternoon of the month at Hurn Road sees three freight trains on the Stamford Lines and a diverted West Coast, Moss End to Daventry (DIRFT) working via the ECML hauled by 88005 and 68004. Moving on to the first two weeks at Cock Lane we see freight using the dive under plus a variety of passenger services on the ECML.
It has been very noisy at Cock Lane throughout the month as building work has started on the new Lloyds Data Centre with a considerable amount of piling being done. Unfortunately this has impacted on the quality of video sound and also the well being of the video operator who now bounces around to the rhythmic sound of the piling.:-)

An impressive pair indeed, not something we are used to seeing around here. Thank you for watching and commenting Timo.

Great video Mick. I bet you were well pleased to get the 68/88 combo diverts. They always sound great. Clocks have changed so days getting longer although still awaiting the warmer weather. Great stuff as always. Take care. Ben

I took a chance that they would be halted at Hurn Road as their arrival was timed to conincide with the toing and frowing of the Joint DMU on the Up Slow. Luckily I got it right for a change😀 What a pair of locos though, the acceleration makes a 66 look a bit sick. I have got to make more use of the lighter evenings this year instead of putting my feet up in the evening, unfortunately the time and days just seem to go more quickly as you get older.

It was good to see you again. Hope you didn't get too wet and perhaps the weather will be kinder for the rest of your holiday. Safe travels and I will be looking forward to seeing your videos.

How was the freight routed from Peterborough to DRIFT and are the concrete block trains still running. , went past the yard at Biggleswade last week and it looked abandoned ?

Around North London, the exact route I cannot remember, the waypoints listed there at the time just went on and on, then Watford, Milton Keynes, Northampton.
The Plasmor block trains still run to and from Biggleswade, perhaps slightly more go to Bow. Both destinations have the same ID. Peterborough West Yard to Bow or Biggleswade is 6L69, usually around 05.15 and Bow or Biggleswade to Heck is 4E25 usually passes around 15.30.
