    This video was so helpful thank you so much! I’m working with a travel agent for my Italy trip and being a travel agent is my career goal. Can you do a video on becoming accredited and just your journey to becoming? If you haven’t already (still exploring your channel lol) thank you!

    Would you recommend being a travel agent for someone who is looking for work on the side to help supplement income? I have a job that provides awesome benefits and insurance but want something to boost my income a little bit. I'm also currently working at home because of the pandemic. So it just seems like the right time to jump into something like this.
    Side note: I wouldn't plan on going to school/getting accredited for it. Would that be a downfall? :/

      If you want to be successful . . . you have to run your business as a business, not a hobby. There are so many people who go into this industry who think it's a "walk in the park" and quickly realize there is a lot more work, knowledge, and training involved in order to do this job to it's fullest. You're sending people around the world having to abide by policies & procedures from foreign countries, airlines, resorts, cruise lines, tour operators, etc. There's a lot at stake--and it's all on you. So it will just depend on how far you want to go with being an agent in order to have the knowledge and skills in order to make an income. It's your business, you can run it however you want. I personally wouldn't be where i am today without proper training and schooling. I couldn't imagine doing this job without that knowledge.

    Thanks for answering these questions that I always wonder. I never worked with a agency before. Do u work with people that are not local? About how long do you take to do your research before you contact the clients about their trip? And Besides the Caribbeans and other countries do you help with booking in the United States and still get a good deal on flights/ hotels ?

      Hello! Great questions. I only work with clients who are based out of Minnesota since that is where I'm located, but don't hesitate to reach out to an agency in your area. Typically, my turn around time is no longer than 1 day for standard quotes. Yes, I do work with destinations within the USA such as Florida, Hawaii, Alaska, New York, etc.. more larger cities... not really smaller cities. :) -Jeanie

      @@JeanieMarieThanks for getting back quick. I live in Mn but in the twin cities. 😊 my bf is not from MN and I say y'all often and he makes fun of me lol but when I heard you say it too. I told him I'm not the only one. Now he's assuming that is a Minnesota thing.

    I have run into a couple of MLM travel agencies. How did you get involved in this business and where did you go to school for certification? What agencies are legit?

    If you work with a host travel agency, are you considered an employee and get a W-2 at the end of the year for taxes, or are you considered self-employed?

    For a beginner what do you think is the best Host agency to join on the East Coast? Is there a difference between Luxury Travel Advisor and Travel Agent? How often do you travel (each month)? How do you start clientele? Stay safe while working🙏🏾❤️

    • @JeanieMarie
      @JeanieMarie  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't advise on Host Agency's but I recommend researching on Host Agency Reviews. Before the pandemic I was traveling monthly, this year not so much at all. You have to build a business and acquire your own clientele with marketing, personal connections, word of mouth, etc... just like starting any business.
