Mr. D. Brown has produced two OUTSTANDING rules sets, General d' Armee and Pickets Charge. Both sets of rules bring out the flavour of the periods. It can be seen that a great deal of thought has gone into developing these rules. Here's wishful thinking. I hope he brings out two sets of rules covering the Mexican American war and the Franco Prussian war.

Just watched this and I am in agreement with Pedro. This brief go though of the rules is great! I am not currently a Napoleonics gamer but I am hooked now...GOD help me!! 😎

I'm really impressed with Dave's rules. I bought the General d' Armee rules a few weeks ago. I'm building up a Waterloo British and French armies. There's much to take in with the rules, but I'll study your battle numerous times. Dave Oman

The more you play and explore GdA, the more you realize that's it a deep rule set that requires experience and understanding to better exploit its potential. It's not a "pick up and play game" and Dave's excellent video - and the future one he is already planning - is a great aid as you learn your way around. Well done!

I love the music of the intro, anybody know what it is?

I’m sold on this rule set. Historically accurate without bogging the game down with technicalities, it’s all very simple and intuitive. 10/10

How do you like it so far? I've just ordered the rule set with the markers. Can't wait for them to get over here.

Am I right in where in the charge phase you can only move and attach a general only to lead a charge and not to receive a charge?

Hi Dave 👋 I noticed that you stated here that in a cavalry v cavalry melee if cavalry is routed and have no supports (close order friends) to their rear they ‘disperse’ . Does a garrison count as a close order friend? In other words can routed units rally behind a garrisoned BUA? Asking for a friend?

A garrison is technically a close order unit, so yes, a routed unit can rally behind.

As a staring player, I am wondering why there are no howitzers and rocket launchers in the rules? Btw a very nice video.

Only use of rockets was Waterloo and they were worthless as I recall. Howitzers (and liciornes) are part of the existing batteries - for example a 6 gun battery was 5 long guns and one howitzer.
