Yes, him getting emotional so easily just in interviews and so forth is definitely a red flag. Huge sign of immaturity, over inflated ego, and potential mental health issues.
Remember when the Bears thumped the Panthers and Jaguars in back to back weeks and people were talking about how they might be legit and Caleb is looking great? This is why we don't overreact to a game or two.
Well they won 3 staright games in a row and he played well agaisnt the Rams too. Rookies are gonna have highs and lows. If Caleb was not a good QB he wouldnt ball out the way he did no matter the defense.
No..I was referring to the shoulder check that Mikerophone has referenced.. just like he said..I don't think it's just a shoulder check.. it's more to it than that The Bears lockeroom doesn't want going viral/public..
I think it’s extremely bold to ask for part ownership in a team when being drafted. That’s wild to me, how arrogant does someone have to be to even think that is realistic
@@NichrysalisThis would be like an entry level employee asking for this at an established company as part of their compensation. I'm all for workers rights and unions and all of that, but that would take it too far.
As a Niners fan, I'm still pissed that pundits put Caleb Williams over the anomaly that is Brock Purdy despite Williams never throwing a pass in the NFL yet.
Lmao all these young dudes have crazy expectations now a days it’s insane I remember when colts fans were going insane and so happy over drafting a guy that had a total of 13 career starts in college😂 like come on people saw CJ and thought we were going to have the new drew brees, Payton manning, Tom Brady type of era again but with young dudes but they were wrong 😂 we have maybe 3 good young dudes and cj is having a horrible season due to his line looking like he wants to actually kill him😂 and Daniel’s is having a great season I would also give NIX his props as well but you never know what will happen there’s a lot of dudes that have 1 good year and never do it again so we’ll have to see
A big arn, fast legs doesn't make a good NFL QB....if he doesn't have a NFL BRAIN. Cabal Williams appears to be NFL brainless ...time to draft another QB. Brock Purdy...last player picked in the draft, has a weak arm, weak mobility...but he has a NFL brain and goes to the Super Bowl. The Brain, The Brain, The Brain.....they all forget about the brain.
@@pigdroppingsI agree with all that except Purdy does extend plays with his legs. Maybe he doesn’t run past the line of scrimmage often but he does role out and he gives his players extra time to get open. Having the patience to do that is sometimes better to have then to just be a running quarterback.
Bro imagine thinking you deserve to own part of a team before ever throwing a pass in the league, then being pretty bad his first season lmao. He comes off like a douche, then he sucks. No wonder he isn't getting much sympathy.
I remember when Caleb's college teammates said something like, "We are now a team" after Caleb quit and refused to play in the final bowl game for the team. He's a diva. He isn't as good as he thinks he is.
I think it's a character issue. He may not "feel the need to work on his QB fundamentals daily" and he may not be that coachable because he's too busy already knowing everything. Narcissists don't take criticism well and teammates don't care for them.
This is exactly what I was thinking as well. He doesn’t do his check downs, doesn’t throw to his first read and makes too many adjustments at the LOS. Just run the play and get rid of the ball!
How is this a character issue? Have you ever actually watched a press conference since the start of the season or are you parroting the nonsense from Mike in this video or dumb rumors from the summer?
@@noahbollinger2828 I’m sorry but a press conference and actual performance are 2 worlds apart. Whenever they show him on the sidelines, he’s just sitting there looking confused. Instead of looking at tablets like most vets do. That might be his character saying I don’t need to see cus I’m that good.
As a Texans fan CJs early success has just FUCKED the realistic QB trajectory. Caleb is a rookie bro 😂 he’ll even CJ showing this season he’s still got a ton to learn like man 😂
@@drag0..What about him? He has an OC calling smart plays, using half the field, pure progression reads (if you know what that is) meanwhile Waldron had Caleb checking into plays, running 20 yard go routes on 3rd & 3 with no RB in the back field & a horrendous OL. Like C'mon, can't compare it. Nobodies story is written. Kingsbury has shown he has trouble once the defense figures him out. Hopefully since he is just an OC he will over come it. Quinn is also a great HC, Bears should've hired him instead of Nagy!
Justin Herbert had 31 TDs and only 10 Ints his rookie year. The guys that come in work hard and don’t listen to the hype surrounding them generally do well. This guy gives Josh Rosen vibes.
There will always be a handful of guys that can come in and dominate early, and the teams that draft them will be at an absurd advantage because they pay them peanuts for 5 years. That’s why QB development isn’t going to make a comeback in the NFL anytime soon, because if you do what GB did and sit your guy for three years you get one maybe two years of production from him and you still have to pay him the largest contract APY in league history afterwards.
Haha I said in everyone of your videos that Caleb will lose locker room before half the season is over. The bears are the new Browns. How did the bears not see this coming.
Regardless of that, he played well when he was in there. Russ might have struggled in Denver, but at the end of the day he's still a HOF QB who is still close to his physical prime, and last season seemed like an absolute outlier. Getting benched for Wilson isn't anything to be ashamed of. As a 49ers fan I know first hand how damn good he is.

@@thomaslewis5164 If Russ's career ended right now he is not in. If he continues at this level a couple more yrs his SB and numbers get him in. Justin Fields is a strong NFL back up. Williams an average starter. All this hyperbolic hero making is ridiculous.
Caleb has been bad but you Fields fanboys taking every chance to try to prop up Fields because of it are insufferable. The guy sucks. He has never thrown for 3000 yards or 20 td in a season, was traded for a 6th round pick, and may never be a long term starter in the nfl ever again
@@chrisk3405oh and Caleb Williams is doing any better? Look at everything he has on offense and defense. He is still going to not make the playoffs. The Bears Franchise is just thrash
Truth here. Bears organization is extremely dysfunctional. Who builds a house without laying a strong foundation? The offensive line folds in without a fight, ridiculous not making moves to getting strong players in these positions. No matter how good a qb, if there is not enough time to pass the ball, down he goes-sacked.
Dude Fields had three years to show that he was worth investing in long term. And after those three years, no other team in the nfl wanted to give up more than a 6th round pick for him
@@chrisk3405three years with no line no weapons for 2 of those years no defense and no real oc. So with all that he's supposed to be great qbs with more have done the same as Fields in Chicago. Lawrence second year the team was adding players Fields second year Poles was taking away players from both sides and Fields was the only reason to watch a bears game.
@ I agree Chicago is a big part of the problem, Caleb has no real oc or line either. But Justin still had some weapons. Mooney was a 1000 yard receiver his rookie year, Kmet was always there, and running backs were always good with Monty and Herbert. Regardless, if Fields showed enough potential (which he didn’t), we would’ve kept him long term even with his lack of production and winning
Something has to be wrong the Bears’ front office. They’ve made changes with the coaching staff, they’ve made good draft picks and have a solid team. Nothing seems to produce. There’s some fundamental flaw here that is being overlooked
The Bears as an organization and coaching never learned to develop the Quarterback position at all. Justin Fields had nothing in Chicago to me. No coaching, no offensive line to block for him, no receivers that can separate from their defenders and no semblance of a running game! Justin Fields got screwed over by Chicago and now in Pittsburgh as a whole to me! The flashy pick is NEVER worth it and Chicago bit the bait.
You obviously didn’t watch JF tenure in Chicago. Darnell Mooney seems to be doing pretty good with a quarterback throwing him the ball in Atlanta. Cw and JF did the same thing with the bears offensive line. They should stop holding the ball for over 4 seconds and expecting the pocket not to collapse. The actual quarterbacks in the NFL know they can’t do this.
@ Well you thought wrong. I have watched JF and his tenure in Chicago and the offensive line was as putrid then as it is now! Receivers couldn’t get open to help JF then and JF scrambled a hell of a lot more in the NFL than ever in OSU! That offensive line was so bad along with the coaching sucking that the line gave up pressure within that 4 second window frequently.
Life long Bears fan. You're exactly right and as an NFL fan I'm glad we picked Trubisky over Watson (for multiple reasons) and Mahomes because we would've ruined him too and missed out on being able to see an actual generational talent play to the top of his abilities. I'm also a Buckeyes fan and felt bad for Fields when we drafted him. Hopefully the front office can figure it out, (doubtful) get some decent coaches in there and an o line so maybe we can see what Caleb can actually do. It's the same cycle every few years though. Consistency is key for a young QB and none of our recent young's guys have ever had that.
Also all the people saying we have two legit 1's at WO haven't been watching. Allen hasn't done much of anything this year, 26 for 241 2 TD's with a season high of 44 yards last game against N.E. especially for 22M or whatever we paid. Highly doubt it's gonna get any better with this new OC. W Kinda wish we would've went after Kingsbury before he went to the Commies.
@@darnell16player the bears offensive line graded out better than Houston’s offensive line when you look at the pff rankings. You’re a JF fan so I’ll break this down to you. The bears drafted Darnell wright at rt in the 1st round which was a great pick, Braxton jones is a solid Lt, Tevin Jenkins was picked with JF which he’s solid when healthy, they brought Nate Davis in which was a miss, and Cody whitehair is avg. Now Tyson bagent was behind that same line for 5 games and only took 5 sacks. JF took 55 and 44. Cw has taken 38 in 9 games. This is not the lines fault they refuse to get the ball out because the coach is telling them to not make risky throws because he believes his defense is like the 85 bears. Tyson bagent has pocket presence and can get the ball out maybe they should learn from him.
Kind of ironic that Caleb texted the punter that he wouldn't be punting very much and now the punter has more punting yards Then Caleb has passing yards
@@stevejamieson8468 Not likely, since the Bears President was clearly in favor of trading the pick for a draft haul. See the Kevin Warren interview with Jarrett Payton.
Successful Organizations don't draft on media hype and highlight reels. They get off of their asses and do the scouting. Which of those organizations do the Bears fit?
yall wasn’t in the lockeroom or group chats so you don’t know… and stop just his naming his negatives with no context… and he doesn’t get to choose his schedule.
I see lazy, unmotivated, diva receivers with no reason to be divas. Soft Olinemen. Terrible coaching staff. A rookie QB. A front office that doesn't listen to players and sabotages themselves with bad staff management. You're still out here calling that cast good. You only watch highlights.
Also a cocky QB that holds the ball to long , can't read defenses .. seems to have no leadership or connection with the players seeing that it seems they don't respect him
@thomasott9488 If I had to lay out for you why that's a front office problem and not something that I am going to place on a rookie qbs shoulders, I'd be here all day. I have the same opinion regarding any rookie. I DON'T EXPECT ANYTHING FROM THEM BECAUSE THEY SHOULDN'T BE FKN STARTING! I'll be a passive-aggressive cnt about it in year 3 maybe. You all need to lower expectations, but then again, this gives many of you something to complain about.
Bears dont have a diva receiver. Thats some bs. DJ is a dog and a football maniac, Keenan is a vet, and Rome is a humble rookie. They DO however have a DIVA QB who cannot throw. Thats makes them frustrated. Who wouldn’t be? Don’t fall for the easy narrative
@Battlechapper 1) Keenan is buns. 2)Kmet is buns. 3) DJ is the only good receiver on that team, but admittedly doesn't like Caleb and is obviously not even attempting to catch balls unless they're just picture perfect. Your WR1 says to the media, I like Justin more than any rookie. The front office decided to give Fields to the Steelers and draft Williams. Now, the players are sabotaging Williams to make a point. Something similar happened to RGIII except the coaching staff were the ones to sabotage him. Williams was never going to do well in Chicago because there is a problem with the relationship between the players and the front offfice. Lastly, I actually watch the tape. I've seen most (the vast majority) of these supposedly inaccurate passes from a rookie QB. You could catch those balls. Don't give me some BS about a narrative when you can't attribute my argument to a single person in the media. GFY.
And if they did… and Justin was terrible we’d be in the exact same place we are now picking high again this year BUT we’d have all of the talent we could have received for the pick we used on her.
Not glad this is happening, but I agree on the fact that we shoulda traded down again, kept Fields, and used most of the trade assets to fix the O-line and D-line. We would still be getting multiple high picks this coming draft, while having all the weapons we have already. Sucks that Poles hasn't addressed the O-line despite supposedly being an "O-line guru" and keeping Eberfluse, instead of bringing in a offensive HC!!
@@Secretarynotsure89FYI, there's only two quarterbacks who have improved every season of their NFL careers. JUSTIN FIELDS and Lamar Jackson are the only two NFL quarterbacks to improve every season of their career over the last three seasons Hence there was ZERO CHANCE of Fields being terrible.
@@scoesixtray2457Bro what are you talking about? Fields passing efficiency showed no improvements between his second and third year. And zero chance of him being terrible? You fields fanboys are delusional
People mistakenly credit Waldron with making Geno Smith into a top tier quarterback, when in fact most of Geno's success stemmed from the fact that there was no footage of and in recent years. As soon as defensive coordinators adjusted Smith return to his old form. This is whst so many people miss when analyzing rookie quarterbacks. The sophomore slump is real and has nothing to do with the quarterback as much as the defensive coordinators simply catching up to that QB's game. Sadly it's also why so many young quarterbacks are giving up on far too early. The NFL is a chess match between quarterback and defensive coordinators, a match that can go back and forth year to year.
The most interesting thing about Caleb Williams is how incredibly ordinary he is in the NFL, considering all the hype surrounding him. He's more underwhelming than Trevor Lawrence at this point, but with a better coaching situation in his rookie year.
Caleb Williams was supremely mid in college on a supremely mid team. Why anyone thinks he has the potential to take a poorly managed offense with poorly developed lineman as a base level player is ridiculous. These narratives have to stop. This kid was never going to be great.
For the life of me, I can't understand the move. I moved to Chicago over 20 years ago, and this is a cycle that repeats itself. When Williams was drafted, the reaction was that a Lombardi trophy was inevitable. No matter how much talent a QB might have, unless you get an OL that can keep him upright and a coaching staff that can develop him, he'll be set up to fail.
For real, when you're usually the second best QB on the field when you play a game, it probably means you aren't number 1 draft pick material or a future hall of famer lol. But pump the right narrative, and even some NFL teams (looking at you Chicago) will bite.
To me, it doesn’t look like DJ Moore shoulder checked Caleb; it looks like Caleb “big manned” Moore by not acquiescing at all and DJ Moore turned his shoulder to avoid shoulder-checking him… which honestly is a lot more telling than DJ not liking him.
mike u are crazy good at making content because youve made 4 videos on this same subject but somehow manage to keep me engaged with the same information with a splash of new information thrown in. keep up the great work hope to see some giants videos soon
It’s a philosophical, organizational problem. Sure I’m a Green Bay fan but I’m not here to troll, the Bears have been doing the same thing for years. Trubisky, Fields, and now Williams. They’ve got defensive minded head coaches that aren’t helping the QB develop at all, they’ve got first time offensive coordinators, and they’re throwing rookies out there to sink or swim. Say what you want about the kids attitude or whatever but he can throw the football, he’s just in a bad situation
Everyone can see that apart from the Bears brass. Get a recent vet qb as a qb coach, get a running game, solidify the OL. Put the pieces around him to help him succeed rather than have this car crash every 3 years with new qbs
Honestly. Idk how ppl thought drafting caleb and trading justin was way better than keeping justin and trading for more picks to ensure other more important holes in the team
I hate to say it but the bears organization had so much potential with Williams and this offense and somehow still found a way to f it up again this is ridiculous and diabolical man 😂😂😮💨 they never learn ever 😒
As a lifelong Chicagoian I saw this coming a mile away. He needs support that the Bums are not capable of giving. They should have gave him the best O line possible not these receivers that mean nothing if he can’t stay upright. Look what they did to Cutler. Most sacked QB in a career span with Bears.
Bears fan here - I think there’s just a multitude of reasons why things are not working out with the Bears and Williams. Are there fixes? Sure, but it has to start from the top down. The biggest thing that I’ve always heard and am now starting to agree with myself (I’m 27 and became a Bears fan around 2014 in high school) is ownership. The McCaskey’s, while being nice people (at least from what I’ve heard), they don’t have a clue about football and hire people who know the sport (at least in their perspective) and any decision they make, it always seems to be the wrong one… That Bears Cycle graphic is a perfect example of what is wrong with the organization - it’s dysfunctional. And no one knows who’s really in charge. Yes, Eberflus helped construct a decent defense…but that’s all there is to it. If he was the DC, yes he did his job and I would argue he would’ve been the best DC the Bears have hired since Vic Fangio…..but he’s the Head Coach. As a Bears fan, I can’t stand his responses to some of the questions the press asks, his time management (just look at the sequence before the Hail Mary in the Commanders game) and then seemingly threw the players under the bus in the press conference after the game. To me, Eberflus lost the locker rooms respect in that moment. Since then, the players just look lifeless out there. Is there a fix? Yeah, but unfortunately Ryan Poles didn’t pull the trigger last offseason and did not get rid of Eberflus and clean house as far as coaching staff goes. Look at Kliff Kingsbury & Jayden Daniels, Ben Johnson & the Lions, Liam Coen & the Buccaneers, and finally Zac Robinson & the Falcons. Kingsbury, Coen, and Robinson all interviewed with the Bears for their open OC job this past offseason and the Bears opted to go with Shane Waldron. Kingsbury himself coached Caleb Williams…and the Bears said “nah, we good fam. We’re gonna go with the guy that revived Geno Smith” A few weeks ago, it had come out Johnson might have wanted the Bears HC job if it had opened up (which it in fact did not. Also, who knows if the Johnson report is actually true, but if it is………boy am I crossing my fingers he’s still interested) Where are we at now? - Well…we’ll see what Thomas Brown can do. All we got is a few press conferences and a report that he’s holding more offensive meetings with all positions in one rather than individual ones. I don’t know if it’s a measure he’s taking to make sure EVERYONE is on the same page (which is another thing that boggles my mind to what lengths they have to go just get everyone to understand what they gotta do). Long-term/big picture - I’d say do some soul searching and really figure out what this team needs in the future head coach (if and when Eberflus is fired). My vote is for Ben Johnson…but with this team? It might be too much to ask for. Oh yeah and finally figure out this O-Line. They nearly killed Justin Fields and are now killing Caleb Williams. It affects the development of any QB, can’t get into a rhythm, and then become paranoid. That’s no excuse for the obvious missed throws the few times they did have time…but at least Fields could maybe outrun the D-Line and scramble for a very good gain. Williams isn’t Fields when it comes to scrambling. He’s more of an Aaron Rodgers. He’ll pick up the 1st down but don’t expect the long scrambling TD that Fields could possibly get. Okay…rant over LMAO
11:57 It just shows how the game has changed when those stats equal a quarterback playing horribly. When I was younger, those kinds of stats weren’t half bad by any means
@GuessTheSongMS I am just repeating what the media said over and over during pre season. The greatest prospect to ever touch a football in the best situation any rookie QB has ever been in.
I'm a Bears fan, i was one of the only people in my circle advocating for Jayden Daniels before the draft. Caleb my be skilled but he is weak emotionally. He could play a Disney princess as easy as an NFL QB
So basically they’re doing the same thing they did to Justin Fields to him. Doesn’t help either when you paint your nails 💅 either. Bears are a poverty franchise
Not exactly. Poles stripped the roster to the bare bones in order to tank/lose on purpose in Fields first full season as Bears starting QB. Caleb received everything Fields was denied & could only dream off. Hence "greatest situation for a #1 pick ever..."
Drafting a qb that wants a stake in the franchise and to be the man in charge is a RED FLAG because it's a slap in the face to longtime players, 20 year long fans n people who bled n fought for the organization Caleb Williams has LOST the locker room there are calls for Tyson bagent to start
People continue to be surprised by something that has been happening as long as I've been watching The NFL. Trevor Lawrence and Caleb Williams are the last two "Generational" talents drafted, and Williams is playing like shit while Lawrence looks like he might be lucky to end up like Derek Carr. Mahomes wasn't seen as a generational talent, and I remember almost nobody was hyping him up much after the draft. Brady obviously wasn't seen as generational, Montana wasn't seen as generational, Rodgers, Brees, Favre, and the list goes on weren't seen as generational. That's just QB. Justin Jefferson was the 5th WR drafted in 2020. Tyreek Hill was drafted in the 5th round. I don't personally remember anyone being too excited for C.J. Stroud entering last season. Kittle was a 5th rounder, Chris Jones 2nd rounder, Fred Warner 3rd rounder, Travis Kelce 3rd rounder. Anything before The NFL doesn't mean much.
Truth. No matter where you are drafted or whether you are hyped up or not, utilize your chances well. Isaiah Pacheco was a 7th round pick and is now a 2time superbowl champion l. Puka Nacua was a 5th round pick. He broke rookie records. You just have to utilize your opportunities whether 1st overall pick or Mr. irrelevant like Brock Purdy who has already been to a superbowl and multiple playoffs
You underestimate how bad the Bears coaching an offensive line are. That's said, I've been a lifelong fan and they are one of the worst ran organizations in all of sports.
Bears messed up not signing Jim Harbargh as their new Head Coach and drafting Caleb Williams over Drake Maye smh... Caleb is currently the 4th maybe 5th best QB in this draft class... That depends on how you rank Spencer Rattler in the small serving we got from him this season and we haven't even seen Penix play yet so honestly Caleb could end up being the 6th best QB in this draft... Bo Nix boss, Drake Maye nice, Jayden Daniels special, Caleb Williams emotional and not Kobe type emotion we talking Girl Please Emotion this guy got a little sugar in the tank he soft
The problem with the Bears is that their On-line is bottom 5 in the NFL. Also, Caleb Williams has a connection with teammates the same way Russell Wilson had in Denver. Nobody will even pick him up when he gets smacked down.
The QB is responsible for identifying the D and adjusting protections, audibles, etc. Don't blame everything on "oh well the line sucks" if dude can't read an NFL defense and hangs on to the ball and CREATES sacks, that isn't on the O line that's on him lol
There was a rumor last year that some of the bears vets wanted bagent over fields, there is now a rumor that Tyson bagents dad is the one who started the rumor both years.
A lot of these young quarterbacks have been successful for so long especially when playing for USC in college that they've never had to face heavy defense pressure. You never know how a quarterback is going to react when he gets smacked around for the first time in his life. This may have been the story with Andrew luck (one of the very few to overcome o-line deficiencies, though it killed him long-term) Bryce young Sam darnold Zach Wilson David Carr and many others. Facing defensive pass rushes from teams like Appalachian State an Alabama Southern is such an incredibly far different experience than facing even average NFL defensive players let alone Stars like TJ Watt and Adrian Hutchinson,
I see a trend with this team that they have a HC and a QB, they fire the HC and hire another one who is forced to inherit the previous QB. Then they trade that QB away and draft a rookie, who struggles early and it results in firing the HC and repeating the cycle. It has gone from Fox-Trubisky-Nagy-Fields-Eberflus-Caleb. Next they will fire Flus and hire whoever and keep the cycle going.
People try to compare caleb to mahomes. The problem is you can't compare just skills to mahomes. Patrick was put in one of the best positions for a rookie QB. He was drafted onto a already successful team with a decent QB and a really good coaching staff. The chiefs were winning 10-12 games in a season and making the playoffs. Mahomes got to sit and learn under smith and Reid and learn the NFL. The bears just threw all these guys together with Caleb and did not have a proven coaching staff or system.
Bro it sad and again almost want to say that what he deserves. With all his comments leading to the draft and how he carried him self it's all blowing up in his face. Just like Aaron Rodgers you love to see rocky ass dudes shit the bed and realise how fake these people truly are and the only thing that keeps people in life is their money. Because they both are horrible individuals and we are seeing it play out.
It’s wild that Maye is developing with nearly no weapons and no line with a defense that’s truly the definition of hit or miss. And Caleb and the Bears are doing Caleb and the Bears things.
Damn, the guy who wanted a percentage of the franchise that was nice enough to give him a chance and paints his nails when he's sad wasn't a great pick? Call me shocked!!😨
I am a big time hater of him. Him painting his nail f Utah and then getting stomped by them every time made me laugh. But I do agree with him not doing medical exams and workouts for every team. Why give the competition info on his potential weaknesses for no reason. I hope he succeeds for the poor bears.
Jayden Daniels also has Brian Johnson as his "assistant head coach" and "offensive pass game coordinator." I don't know what those positions actually entail, but it sounds like Washington essentially brought in the Eagles former QB coach and offensive coordinator just to have one more dude in the building with experience calling plays, creating an offensive game plan, and developing a young qb. I don't know if Kingsbury or Johnson or Dan Quinn deserves the most credit for how good Daniels looks, but the question is academic. The coaching staff packed the building with people to help their rookie qb, and so far that looks to have been a hell of a good idea.
Man, as soon as he has a good game the media will go back to generational talent. So sick of the back and forth how bout let’s wait for the dude to finish the season or two before we can decide what is what?
No, there is no way the Bears could have kept Fields and traded that #1 draft pick. Bears management and a sizeable (and vocal) chunk of Bears fans had already guzzled the "Generational talent!" Kool-Aid bullsh*t. Any brave fan who would point out that Williams had some of the same issues as Fields (holding onto the ball too long, ,etc) would be told "You obviously don't know football". Besides, by that point, the blame had completely shifted from the bad coaching and the crappy o-line to Justin Fields. Poles would have been run out of town on a rail if he hadn't taken Williams.
Poles WILL BE "ran out of town on a rail" because he should've taken the draft haul- a no brainer! Drafted a QB he didn't need, who turns out to be QB4 of the draft class. The only smart move Poles made was sending Fields to his #1 trade partner in Pittsburg with the incentive to keep Justin off the football field as long as possible. Even that scheme is blowing up in Poles face as Caleb bust even without the distraction of Justin Fields success.
@@DudeHomer Bottom line is they didn't have the infrastructure to support a quarterback for the last three years - ask Justin. So what sense did it make to pass on the opportunity to finally solidify the roster to draft a rookie QB?
I can’t believe people really thought this man could turn that whole franchise around no one can their the damn bears they will continue struggling because that’s who they are and Ben Jonson won’t go to an nfc rival he just won’t
As a bears fan.. the thing that makes me nervous… is why is he not accurate when he throws the ball at times.. I mean he misses when he as the receiver open
Since 2017 The Bears have invested three first round draft picks at the QB position. All three were on highly touted prospects that were projected to have a better than average chance of adjusting their game to the NFL. Two of those prospects are already settling into careers as backups, and the third looks to be following a similar trajectory. At a certain point, you have to look at the common denominator behind all three QBs.

Something has to be wrong the Bears’ front office. They’ve made changes with the coaching staff, they’ve made good draft picks and have a solid team. Nothing seems to produce. There’s some fundamental flaw here that is being overlooked
The problem has always been ownership and the coaches/GMs they hire, but ya can't change ownership too easily. Unfortunately...
Kinda wish we would've went after Kingsbury before he went to the Commies.

GFY.

I predicted this would happen long before the draft began. The warning signs were not hard to spot.
Maybe he’s more worried about what color he should use to paint his nails instead of his job
The most interesting thing about Caleb Williams is how incredibly ordinary he is in the NFL, considering all the hype surrounding him. He's more underwhelming than Trevor Lawrence at this point, but with a better coaching situation in his rookie year.
The Bears and the Jets should make reality shows instead of Football
Caleb Williams was supremely mid in college on a supremely mid team. Why anyone thinks he has the potential to take a poorly managed offense with poorly developed lineman as a base level player is ridiculous. These narratives have to stop. This kid was never going to be great.
For the life of me, I can't understand the move. I moved to Chicago over 20 years ago, and this is a cycle that repeats itself. When Williams was drafted, the reaction was that a Lombardi trophy was inevitable. No matter how much talent a QB might have, unless you get an OL that can keep him upright and a coaching staff that can develop him, he'll be set up to fail.
mid in college come on
For real, when you're usually the second best QB on the field when you play a game, it probably means you aren't number 1 draft pick material or a future hall of famer lol.

The McCaskey’s, while being nice people (at least from what I’ve heard), they don’t have a clue about football and hire people who know the sport (at least in their perspective) and any decision they make, it always seems to be the wrong one…
That Bears Cycle graphic is a perfect example of what is wrong with the organization - it’s dysfunctional.
Also, who knows if the Johnson report is actually true, but if it is………boy am I crossing my fingers he’s still interested)
Where are we at now?

You know this sounds familiar oh yeah Trevor Lawrence
The problem with the Bears is that their On-line is bottom 5 in the NFL. Also, Caleb Williams has a connection with teammates the same way Russell Wilson had in Denver. Nobody will even pick him up when he gets smacked down.
The QB is responsible for identifying the D and adjusting protections, audibles, etc. Don't blame everything on "oh well the line sucks" if dude can't read an NFL defense and hangs on to the ball and CREATES sacks, that isn't on the O line that's on him lol
Come on. Caleb created the bear claw hand gesture.
I was waiting for....."THE NEXT COMING OF PATRICK MAHOMES" 📣
There was a rumor last year that some of the bears vets wanted bagent over fields, there is now a rumor that Tyson bagents dad is the one who started the rumor both years.
Let these bots keep hating. They're not interested in the truth.
As a panthers fan I’m laughing at the bears especially after how much we traded to them all for them to suck lol
Bears thought they would get good after the trade but it was the opposite. Irony 😂
Lol the Bears will get it together soon. Buuuuuuuut the Panthers are going to suck for years and years to come 😉
@@United_Corporations_of_Americahow long have bears fans been saying that?
Dude both teams got WORSE after this Caleb Williams trade n megadeal
Keep in mind Carolina n chicago were 6 to 8 win teams BEFORE this situation
As a former Bears fan, I laugh with you
A lot of these young quarterbacks have been successful for so long especially when playing for USC in college that they've never had to face heavy defense pressure. You never know how a quarterback is going to react when he gets smacked around for the first time in his life. This may have been the story with Andrew luck (one of the very few to overcome o-line deficiencies, though it killed him long-term) Bryce young Sam darnold Zach Wilson David Carr and many others. Facing defensive pass rushes from teams like Appalachian State an Alabama Southern is such an incredibly far different experience than facing even average NFL defensive players let alone Stars like TJ Watt and Adrian Hutchinson,
As a STEELERS FAN, THANK YOU CHICAGO FOR JAMES DANIELS, JOEY PORTER JR (Thanks for taking Claypool) and thanks for FIELDS!!!
That cycle is called "chasing greatness" according to Kaplan.
“Caleb Williams inherits WORST situation in Chicago. “ lmao
It’s always gonna be a bad situation when your teams owners don’t care about the sport to learn from their mistakes
Na this is what the bears get 😂😂😂😂😂soak in that
The Bears are who we thought they were!!!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Caleb wasn’t considered the most NFL ready. He was considered the most talented.
The Bears are going to ruin Caleb Williams, but he's also his own worst enemy.
Wow your telling me a QBs rookie year in the nfl has been extremely up n down? Who would’ve thought
Yeah but most rookie QBs aren't being fellated by media all off-season lol
@ people got recency bias, cj strouds rookie year was extraordinary and an anomaly
@robcanisto8635 yeah but that's not his fault that they were hyping him up so much
This guy aint any rookie qb. He was called the next coming of Patrick Mahomes
@@Runitup2kThe QBs that are focused on their jobs do well in their first year. Justin Herbert, CJ Stroud, Jayden Daniels
It’s wild that Maye is developing with nearly no weapons and no line with a defense that’s truly the definition of hit or miss. And Caleb and the Bears are doing Caleb and the Bears things.
From generational talent, to your own teammates wanting you benched 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Put some respect on Terry McLaurin's name. Dude has four straight 1,000 yard seasons with 11 different QB's. He also about 200 yards from his 5th.
Thank you!! Mike looked like a real casual there ngl, McLaurin is a dog
The Ben Simmons of the NFL 😂
Oh no Caleb Williams at least plays.Ben Simmons still load manages 😂
@ yea true lol
@@TheGoatedOne423Just wait
Damn, the guy who wanted a percentage of the franchise that was nice enough to give him a chance and paints his nails when he's sad wasn't a great pick? Call me shocked!!😨
Bears still suck.
Daniels was the no.1
Hey Caleb, welcome to the cowboys 😂
I am a big time hater of him. Him painting his nail f Utah and then getting stomped by them every time made me laugh. But I do agree with him not doing medical exams and workouts for every team. Why give the competition info on his potential weaknesses for no reason. I hope he succeeds for the poor bears.
It’s actually very simple. If you lost to the 2024 Patriots or the 2024 Panthers, ur team sucks.
It’s a lot going on in Chicago
Bears have historically never developed a great QB. Jim McMahon is probably their best drafted QB to accomplish anything.
Love your video Mike and keep up the great work you are awesome
One day he's going to go down as the first openly gay number one pick/bust
Watching this child pee down his own leg has restored my love for football
Man, as soon as he has a good game the media will go back to generational talent. So sick of the back and forth how bout let’s wait for the dude to finish the season or two before we can decide what is what?
the problem is there are people who still watch and take these sports "analyst" seriously.
Did he just say on their knees with their mouths open? 🤣🤣🤣
All Poles needed was a spine to do the obvious right thing.
Poles WILL BE "ran out of town on a rail" because he
should've taken the draft haul- a no brainer!
@@scoesixtray2457 they could have drafted J.D. you know instead of ignoring all of the red flags
@@DudeHomer Bottom line is they didn't have the infrastructure to support a quarterback for the last three years - ask Justin.
So what sense did it make to pass on the opportunity to finally solidify the roster to draft a rookie QB?
"has coach lost the locker room?"
"Well I don't want to say no"
Then the answer is unequivocally yes.
“This is live?” 😂😂😂
I can’t believe people really thought this man could turn that whole franchise around no one can their the damn bears they will continue struggling because that’s who they are and Ben Jonson won’t go to an nfc rival he just won’t
Tebow threw a more accurate deep ball then Caleb
As a bears fan.. the thing that makes me nervous… is why is he not accurate when he throws the ball at times.. I mean he misses when he as the receiver open
So basically you have a right handed Tebow
Since 2017 The Bears have invested three first round draft picks at the QB position. All three were on highly touted prospects that were projected to have a better than average chance of adjusting their game to the NFL. Two of those prospects are already settling into careers as backups, and the third looks to be following a similar trajectory. At a certain point, you have to look at the common denominator behind all three QBs.
As a Lions fan, I don’t think anybody in the NFC North thought they were gonna win out
