Ah.....for quite some time Josh, I have been trying to makes out your accent ! Now I know, a mix of German, Aussie, and Asian !😁 That seat was definitely gross !🤢.... especially the headphones. I thought ( from what I have seen on TH-cam) , that all headphones came in sealed bags, even before covid ! Glad to see at least the crew were excellent.
I respect you a lot sir. I like how you honestly review airlines. Please do collab videos with more Avgeeks such as Nonstopdan with live videos discussing about aviation and also do some videos with people from the industry also if possible to understand there perspective on the current situation in aviation
Around 3 minutes, you made a really good point. People view negative reviews on their flag carrier as a blatant insult to their nation, which it simply isn't.
This video is a reason why i follow this show, Straight forward mainstream, with all cons and pros. Airlines need to appreciate this kind of heads-up, A wrong done is never a wrong unless repeated again. Good work Josh, Greetings from Nairobi.
When it comes to lounges, I have to say, in fairness, that you haven't been allowed to eat or drink in the Swiss Lounge for months. To be more precise, these were completely closed even for a longer period of time. The same applies to Austrian, (although the doggie pack is really awesome now)
As a proud LH Purser I can only apologise for what you have experienced onboard and I'm embarrassed myself. But usually such feedback meets deaf ears at the higher management since they don't think very highly of "Internet Personalities". However, paying customers shouldn't experience something like this given that the airline promised something else in shiny and expensive PR campaigns...
The one time a few years back that I did a long-haul flight with LH the crew was great. The economy seats, however, were the worst I've ever experienced. I am not a big person but even sitting straight up my knees were against the seat in front of me. And the seat was incredibly narrow. It was like being in a cage. So many of us on that flight spent a lot of time standing and walking around the plane because the seats became torturous after a while. The crew understood. They were friendly, chatted with us, offered snacks in the galley area and never demanded that we sit down until it was time to prepare for landing. There wasn't an option for business class, only first class. I vowed never to fly LH again unless it was a short flight or simply unavoidable. I'm sorry to hear that LH management doesn't listen to feedback. I'm sure it's costing them customers.
Yes Lufthansa seems to be tone deaf most of the time. Beside the clealiness, I don't understand why their seats are always 10 years behind. Look at QR, SQ, even AF has better seats. Even the seat advertised in 2017 won't be for another 1 year. I believe the only reason anyone flies LH is because most germans would choose to by national pride or convenience (direct connection). Anyway, I hope things will improve.
please don't start with that "they take our tax money". if LH went bust that would be even worse for the German economy. and please don't forget that LH are a European based airline and now some middle Eastern sheikh owned airline where money is not an object when it comes to prestige. it is a different world. hopefully the airline industry becomes more sustainable in the future and will be prepared for a future crisis. but please do not forget that LH was a healthy and profitable airline and the crisis is not of their own making. as is the same with any other business in the travel or tourism sector. I just can't listen or read another, I'm sorry, but really another moron who has absolutely no clue complaining about airlines "taking their tax money". those people should just either inform themselves or just shut up and take the train. rant over.
@@hpfend the problem isn’t that they "took tax money", the problem is what they actually did with it. The government gave them money not to pay out dividends or bonuses. Which they did. They gave money so that Lufthansa wouldn’t fire a bunch of employees, which they did anyway. That is the problem. The German government now has a 20% stake in Lufthansa and they did jack shit for it. At least for the year 2020, they were forced to halt payouts in 2021. They paid out for 2019, in 2020 even though they were actively looking for a bailout. Which was twice the airline’s worth.
10:49 - Flight attendant started her Intelligent Service. 10:58 - "CODE RED" "CODE RED" We got Airline Slayer on Board with some nukes(Camera). 11:04 - Trying To Save Lufthansa From the Airline slayer. 13:51 - Mission Failed.
Lufthansa has failed to impress me on every flight whether Economy, Premium Economy or Business Class, long haul or medium haul. Many people say they are overrated.
She clearly made you feel uncomfortable by asking what you were doing when it was obvious you were filming yourself. You were not making a scene and were being quiet and orderly. The camera was focused on you and you only. Rather than say, "What are you doing?" she could have said, "Can I help you with anything?" She came across more like the Stazi than a Brand Ambassador for the airline. After watching this video, I will never fly Lufthansa. Lufthansa reminds me of BA - old flight attendants and a filthy dirty product. This airline is so out of touch with the customer they need a bailout from the German gov't to stay afloat. The service and cleanliness on Qatar, Etihad, or Emirates is far superior and they have great lounges where they give you a great selection of food and drinks, not just a bottled water.
The Flight attendant at 10:47 so sweet and mindful! In my opinion just the Flight attendants make that big difference about an airline. They should be more appreciated by their chiefs.
Hey brother, I'm British and I live and work in Japan. Back in 2011 and 2012 i always fly Lufthansa from NRT to Germany for wok, and they were just crap. This airline definitely isn't a 5 star airline. At most I would say 4 star.
unacceptable cabin condition. something you'd see on a budget carrier when they're rotating flights in and out in 30 min. not on a business flag carrier.
Great review! Appreciate your honest and unbiased opinions/reviews of different airlines and their products. Very straightforward. Keep up the good work.
I think I may have taken the opportunity to explain to the brand ambassador about the cleanliness concerns and perhaps kindly pointed out the crumbs? I agree, it was a nice representation for Lufthansa to have her. She clearly showed concerns when she noticed you filming and then had the thought and took the time to pop over and introduce herself and her roll with the company.
Love your honesty! I recently had the choice of TransAtlantic biz booking either Lufthansa, Swiss or United. I went with Swiss because of the direct aisle access for some of their seats, while the others did not. I don’t understand how non-aisle access can be sold nowadays in Biz. As a solo flier, I want my privacy if I’m paying the premium.
LATAM also had a 2-2-2 configuration in the A350. BUT, they’ve just retired this aircraft from the fleet, unfortunately. I’ve flown with them in Y in 2019 and it was a great experience!
Thank you. I was contemplating booking a Lufthansa flight to the far east at the end of this year but after seeing those filthy headphones in this Covid era forget it!
Regarding cabin cleanliness, a lot of time airlines allow very short time to clean the cabin, they must allocate longer time to the cleaning crew to do a thorough cleaning.
An extremely well thought out review, backed up with a lot of evidence. Keep up the great and unbiased work and don't let comments by a few not so educated folks out there (who now unfortunately have easy access to the internet but really lack the intellect or the emotional intelligence to even put together a coherent sentence together even if their life depended on it) stop you from doing what you're doing! Cheers! Also have a SUB!
Lufthansa once was good. A very long time ago. Now they charge for seats, international $50 for each flight segment and domestic $14. Even the legroom at United in Economy Premium is better.
Thanks Josh! Well, there you go... even if I COULD fly just now, I wouldn’t be choosing Lufthansa. What else did I learn from your report? You spent some time living in Australia! Good one, mate!!
Probably a better deal to fly Lufthansa in economy class. I flew with them in Economy a few times and they are not bad, but you are completely right about them being quite misleading. I prefer Swiss airlines over Lufthansa.
I have flown with Lufthansa in Economy 3 times (CRJ900, B747-400, and A330-300). Honestly Lufthansa is great in my opinion; never had any problems with them. I just do not think it meets up to the 5-star standard.
Lufthansa is still a very good airline - don't believe every stuff you hear about them. Some people try to make look LH bad on purpose. Usually LH does not disappoint.
Glück Auf Josh! Thanks for the video! Keep up the great work!Just two things I would like to mention: 1. The Swiss Lounge, at least in Zurich, is open BUT neither do they serve food or drinks nor are you allowed to eat or drink anything inside. 2. The UAE wants the PCR Test to be printed. This isn‘t LHG. EK also mentions that on their webpage. I think the UAE changed that on 23rd April. Greetings from Switzerland ✌🏻
I can only comment based on personal experience. Pre pandemic, I mainly travelled on Lufthansa Group Airlines (mainly Lufthansa and Swiss with a 60/40 split between them). Always in their European Business Class, always with a transfer at a hub, or an overnight break in a local hotel. I would say that the Lufhansa Lounges had the edge over those for Swiss, but I was more than satisfied with both. Again, in the whole (with some notable exceptions both very positive and very negative) I have been more than happy with the ground service and cabin service, but would give Swiss the definitive edge there. The same would go for their on-board food. While I haven't had recent experience of other airlines, other than Jet2 (who performed so much better than I was expecting for the price) and Helvetic providing service on behalf of Swiss, so to try to rate my experience againt the market would be downright dishonest, but from watching your excellent videos I am aware that there are better (and worse) offerings around. What really surprised me is how Skytrax can rate Lufthansa above Swiss. I accept that they might take the long range produce with dedicated seats (rather than a blocked centre) into account, but to be of any use to me as a passenger I would need to see separate ratings for European Business, and Economy, Long range First, Business, and Economy. As it stands, it would appear to me that a Skytrax rating (however it is calculated or obtained) is only of use to the Airline for its advertising materials!
Great Review of the so called 5* airline. I get the feeling that at the start of COVID airlines (including Lufthansa) really made a big focus and deal on the cleanliness and sanitising of the aircraft to get people back flying again. However in my experience, I feel this has begun to fall short. It almost feels like it’s a cost saving measure. I got this impression on some other airlines too. ✈️
As a german I often choose Lufthansa on short haul flights but on long haul...nah. Lufthansa could be so much more. They have the potential, they just don't want to use it. It's actually a shame. The crew is often great though
You’re right, Lufthansa should stop fooling their customers and charging outrageous fees for something the customer’s never going to get. There is no way that seat was cleaned before you boarded, completely gross! Their rating should be more like 3.5 stars on Scamtrax! Great job Josh❤️👍✈️
Josh very honest review, thanks. I noticed at 10:30, she was observing you filming, no wonder she came to enquire. Was it not evident to her while she was spying that you were talking to the camera?
Thanks for sharing, always love your unbiased reviews that show product as it is. The price of airline tickets and the claims they make need to be justified and it’s videos like yours that help travel decisions be made - rather than the “everything is great!” videos by others which I dislike. Bravo!
I’ve always found the LH business class to be comfortable if not exactly leading edge. In more recent years I’ve flown Air France long haul and have to say I prefer their service over that of LH.
You can be shitty 5 star airline if you pay enough. Thats how germany works. You can buy cheapest shit, make on it your brand like a bosch and sell it for 8 times more. Germans moustly brands chineese products and sell it.
I thank you for the honesty. I have flown LH many times and never experienced the lack of cleaning (I moved to Germany in 2021) but you are absolutely right- business class passengers (and all passengers) should receive exactly what they pay for. Overall LH has done right by me on many trips, but we deserve consistency- it's what we pay the big carriers for (no surprises).
Glad you spared us the loo review. Wonder how often they clean the loos? Perhaps yearly! Another great review, but don't eat so much. You MUST keep your figure!!!!
I used to fly Lufthansa a lot and had very good experiences on longhaul but on shorthaul it was not so good! Munich is a great airport but at Frankfurt very mixed experiences from LH groundstaff including strike actions!
We were flying Lufthansa in April 2021 Frankfurt to Cape Town and back. While Crew was very friendly and professional the reduced service "because of Corona" was a desaster. No Choice in Eco for meal. Just vegetarian pasta and a wrap for breakfast. Only Drinkservice for Dinner and Breakfast plus 1 0,5l bottle of water. And that was it for an 11,5h flight + boarding and waiting. Food was also quite bad on the way back. Each way we got of the plane hungry - so I gave the Airline the new Name "Hungerhansa".
You think that cabin was grubby..pre covid the majority of British Airways cabins were RANK! ( esp on 777s & 747's ) even in First. I always took wipes and scrubbed down my space pre-settling down. Next flight post covid is London to Cape Town rtn ( A380 in First ) in November - lets see what that pans out like.
Josh I completely agree. Firstly, may I say that I was on a business trip to Mexico and was traveling DXB-FRA-MEX and I also returned CUN-FRA-DXB with Lufthansa Business class in April 2021. I am used to flying Emirates but I was perfectly happy with Lufthansa as Emirates were not flying to Mexico. Secondly, I was appalled by the hygiene and experienced much the same as you; crumbs, stains and those headphones! Am I supposed to use headphones that someone else has used! Really! So I complained vociferously on boarding and asked for new clean headphones and explained to the crew that I did not think Lufthansa was taking hygiene very seriously. This was met with sarcastic comments from the Purser who suggested a. That Covid is not transmitted ‘in that way’ - exact words and b. That I must be some kind of expert. I hardly think you have to be an expert to know that Lufthansa planes are filthy. However, the other cabin crew were very understanding and helpful and did their best to rectify the situation. The food was good and I had the same as you for the main course. I was delighted to be able to fly on the ‘Queen of the Skies” again FRA-MEX. Similar disappointments with the Senator lounge but I had a good shower in Frankfurt between each leg of the journey. It is also strange to see a 2-2-2 configuration and I had to clamber over adjacent passengers on each leg except one. It was not as if I took one flight and this was a one-off experience; the same standards of hygiene were experienced on each of the 4 legs of the trip and I soon got used to cleaning my seat knowing exactly where to look for dirt. Anyway suffice to say I think your review was accurate.
I've only flown business class once, and it was with Lufthansa from JFK to Frankfurt (I planned a trip for me and my companion who then paid for the business class seat as a thank you). The trip over was very nice with a great flight attendant. The only down side was when I ordered my appetizer I was told they were out of it. But when I said I would then skip it (which was fine with me), she 'found' some. She also recommended a restaurant and meal at a small island we were planning to visit, which we had and was amazing. However the way back was completely the opposite experience. I'm a very nervous flier and like to sit by the window so I can look out and see what's going on. After we took off, a woman in the middle seats wanted to sleep, so the flight attendant 'asks' if I will put my window shade down, but he was already leaning over and pulling it down before I could even answer. This was a 10am flight. Then when I went to get my headphones, they were covered in some white powder. When I flagged him down again he just responded 'oh it's probably just some crushed candy or something'. So I had to prompt, 'well can i get some clean ones, or something to clean these with'? Apparently there were no other headphones, so he just got some covers for the ones I had. But he made it out like what was wrong with me not wanting to put some dirty garbage on my head.
My last flight with Lufthansa was TLV-FRA in business class just several months ago - I also noticed how filthy the seat area was...crumbs, food leftovers etc. So surprising and can turn your stomach.
I had the pleasure of flying Lufthansa multiple times, Business as well as Economy. Frankfurt based crews are more likely to have a chip on their shoulder with an attitude, while Munich based crews are always awesome! On a DXB-MUC flight in 2015 I was totally knackered, I nodded already off during taxing out to the run way, and I moved my seat into the flat position as sonn as we were inthronisiere air, and slept for about three hours. When I woke up, the crew was busy with the duty free service in the opposite aisle, and when the flight attendant noticed that I woke up, she came over to my seat immediately, addressed me by my name and asked if I would like a coffee and a breakfast she had hold back for me. Honestly, my chin dropped in awe. On the note of cleanliness, if every passenger would treat their seat and equipment with the same responsibilities they treat their home, their wouldn’t be a cleaning necessary. However, the crew has very little to do with the cleanliness, and I hope you pointed it out to the Purser.
I was refused my flight from USA to Brazil because my US covid test did not mention the time it was done. I flew Delta. Had to stay overnight and do the test next day. Hotel was paid by Delta but not my second test. Spent $300 in tests. Just an alert for anyone flying to Brazil. Love your reviews!
Same experience with the cleanliness. Nov 2020 and Jan 2021, i flew with LH Business class round trip. Both flights were not good in term of cleanliness.
Nice review like always! But it is sad that Lufthansa actually can't cope with the standards they should provide. I used to be very fixated on Lufthansa due to family working for them, flying a lot when I was a kid. Of course, the experience then was much different, even if only due to the age. But I remember the kids bonus book they had. I filled at least two of them. Each flight was documented and signed by the captain of the flight. Most times, I was invited to the cockpit in order to get my signature - impossible today, of course. Still, I have very nice memories of Lufthansa, did a job training from school at their technical base (different company, I know ;-) ) Today I have to say, it is nothing special to fly Lufthansa and doesn't differ flying national to their budget carrier Eurowings. From the airlines I have flown in my life, my heart was caught by a little, in Europe unknown, airline: Cebu Pacific! Since I flew with them first in 2014, it got my favorite airline, even though it's an asian budget carrier. But even flying Emirates to Manila, I am always looking forward to my short haul with Cebu! Lufthansa lost it's status a long time....
We always fly Lufthansa when we go to Europe. On a recent trip I got an offer from LH to upgrade to Business from Premium Economy. It cost me $1600 for me and my husband, I think. It was the worst flight I’ve ever had because you cannot sleep in those awful business class seats. The configuration is terrible. I did not sleep that night. My only other time in Bus Class was with British. Their BC was flawless. We had room and plexiglass dividers providing privacy, and an actual bed! Real sheets, real pillows - I was asleep before dinner and slept thru till breakfast. Best flight ever! I’m just sorry I missed dinner. My husband had mine and assured me it was delicious.
Good on you for calling them out. Over promise and underdeliver on the cleaning, important at any time but particularly now. No loo review (was it cleaned properly in line with their promise)? Thanks for sharing the experience Josh and I hope Lufthansa management take note - we all do.
The Qatar 777 I flew on twice had a similar hard product, but the service and alacarte menu is so superior. As an Australian, I think Qantas is just ok. Compared to Qatar, Singapore and the others, not even close.
Thank you Josh for your unbiased review business class is in a very tight corner and one cannot stretch fully for tall people and you were spied upon and I am shocked as for the headset it should be sanitized and packed in a sealed plastic pack. I enjoy your channel and thanks for sharing, look for more revues on LH
I was on the same flight last week. Though A330-300. The C Class was full, the boarding chaotic, no welcome drinks, good but limited food, but the second snack was a shame ! It was a disgusting wrap. Everything was said before about the seat. After the meal light was switched off and they never went through the cabin. Going to the Galley I was told "Sorry, no service time" Whaaaaat ? In Business Class ??? So disappointing! I have never been a big fan of Lufthansa but I will never go on a longhaul flight again with them. You know what is the worst thing about all that ? They do not really care if they gave you a good experience or not.
@@JoshCahill Josh, Air Caraibes is another airline that the business class does not have direct aisle accesses. I have flown on Lufthansa for more than 40 hours in the economy and they do not define 5 stars. The seats are not very comfortable, the food is bland and the entertainment is not very good. It is nice to hear the perspective from the business class. Also, when you mentioned people blabbering about their national carrier, it is not like they own the airline so why would they care so much? You are completely right!
I hope that the company sees this video and does something about the cleaning issue. Over all I agree with you that it is far from a 5 star. I might give them a 3.5 maybe, and that would be just based on the crew and food, I really enjoy your videos because they are honest and non-bias. You seem to always find the bad and the good and point out both equally which I really like and I hope the company(s) does also and I also hope they reach out to you from time to time and show that they take your experience seriously and review what they are doing. Thank you and keep up the good travels
My last trip on Lufthansa was terrible with rude staff that couldn’t care less that I was handicapped and just had spinal surgery and the cabin was super hot throughout the flight!
Nothing has changed - we even complained about cleanliness in First Class - and that the crews do not care about details and cleanliness nor hygiene and the crew is mainly complaining that they have to the job. It seems to be that Germans do no care about customers they only focus on profits and their own personal. The LH behave in the time of crisis like „Concentration Camp Guards“ and even shout on passengers instead of offering a face mask or something. And yes Josh you a re right many times we have flown LH long-haul and when the plan has a 2h turnaround nobody cares … not cleaning, not food, not service (do not misunderstand the crew tries but when you got crews from LH city-line or former Air Berlin or worster TUI this crews aren’t trained first class) so training and education is missing excuses with „Germans attitude is like that“. The prices aren’t value for money. That LH sold „Skychefs“ isn’t make it better. Specially on flights from and to India we experience filthy cabins & „loo‘s“ and down graded food menues in business class or premium eco not to talk about economy. The flight experience starts negative at the airport we’re ground crews have been gathered from the next jail and security is rude like in Nazis what can you expect from a German Top Managements guidelines Prices up but Service down doesn’t bother them…. I think customers are only a burden for LH!! 😅
That will certainly put the cat amongst the pigeons in Lufthansa’s head office! Very honest review highlighting the cleanliness of the aircraft pretty disgusting really. Excellent content Josh
Around 20 years ago for work I needed to travel from London Heathrow to Dusseldorf or Cologne about 4 to 6 times a year to visit the Beyer plant in Dormagen which is almost exactly mid way between Dusseldorf and Cologne. I worked at the time for BP and usually we travelled using BA. I'm not generally a great fan of BA because when I'd travelled long haul a few times with them, again for work and usually in Business Class, I found their cabin crew to be officious and rude and they were nick named "Flight Nannies". However on the shorter flight to Dusseldorf or Cologne they were very different and it was a pleasure to fly with them. On about 3 occasions for some reason the BA flight wasn't available so we had to use Lufthansa. At that time there was no business class on that route with BA or Lufthansa. I'm afraid that these flights with Lufthansa were memorable for all the wrong reasons. The Lufthansa cabin crew were not friendly or welcoming, the seat pitch appeared to be closer than BA. There was no meal service on either BA or Lufthansa, this is understandable because the flights were just short of an hour. As passengers disembarked after landing there was no "Thank you for choosing Lufthansa, we hope that you'll travel with us again" as usually happens with most airlines. The cabin crew stood near to the exit as all cabin crew do but they didn't acknowledge the passengers, even those that said "Thank you" to them instead they tried to put on an air of superiority over their customers. Not a good way to represent their company.
Lufthansa overbooked my 2 connection flight from Denver to Istanbul transferring by Frankfurt, I was flying First Class and yet was overbooked somewhat. I was met with a 9 hour delay FOR EACH transaction. Oh and I can’t forget this, our baggages were sent with the first airline that we weren’t in. rofl
I only had one experience with LH, flying Munich to Berlin a couple of years ago. Flight was packed, I was the last one to board because they failed to announce that boarding started and i was sitting at the gate facing away from it and did some work, thinking the boarding call would tell me when to get up. Since I was the last one to board, overhead bins were completely full already, so I asked a flight attendant to please help or advise me. She shruged and said maybe I should keep my little suitcase in my legroom. I had no other choice tho I questioned myself if thats even safe. More organization or the possibility to leave the trolley at the gate and pick it up in Berlin would be helpful. Oh and cabin crew was out of everything, no coffee, no cola, not even sparkling water. It was a Friday afternoon flight, full of business travelers as usual, so the whole thing wasn't unexpectable for Lufthansa. I miss airberlin, always had good experience with them.
Mr. Cahill, I really appreciate your work. Now I have the knowledge of selecting an Air Line , thanks to you. As a Sri Lankan, I'm ready to take your voice to the authorities if you find any adverse event in Sri Lankan Air Lines as we do not tolerate any bad situation which tarnishes the greatness of our National Air Line. Keep the good work up. Thank You..
Right to the point,Josh. Crew of Lufthansa is always fine and do there best. The rest!!! The lounge i find not worth 5*,last years always delay's with no explanation, business on shorters flights,Tbilisi, is Just with spare space between. Sad it was a very good company but last years went down.
I've flown with lufthansa pre-covid, the standard on the seats was far better than that. They were a lot cleaner, but a bit worn. Staff was as nice and kind as your flight and I flew economy.
My airline normally do the cleaning check in the cabin and then we would confirm n sign off for the cleaners to leave the aircraft before flights, plus security search is another opportunity to take a closer look at things n take our left over trash, cuz we have search every seat, corner, floors ect, So to end up w a crumbs filled seat, the clean has been overlooked at least twice.
Oh boy...I flew LH on it's longest flight to Buenos Aires EZE in Business Class, it was horrid, seat dirty, service very germanic and indifferent. Guess I was expecting fine dining, superior drinks, an excellent seat with it being a 5* European Airline and all.. Non of the above really..not flown since.
As a former frequent flyer i was quite surprised at the filhty cabin on this flight. LH has definitely gone downhill during covid. It was never a 5* airline. But they did ok before.
I can feel you. I was travelling to Canary Islands from Vienna with my BF early January of 2022 with Lufthansa. It was atrocious. I don’t expect to be treated like a king in economy, but holy hell, at least give something little to eat in a 4,5h flight. Everyone each got a liter of flat water, that’s it. My BF, who is extremely into flying and Airlines said jokingly that they are a low budget airline like wizz or ryan, while charging premium for even worse services.
The crews are most of the time very nice, but i prefer flying with LOT (polish national carrier). Service as well as the hardproduct are similar. Warsaw is quite a nice airport for connecting flights and LOT does quite a lot for repeating customers. I sometimes get a businessclass update free of charge. At least it used to be that way, before covid. Right now i have no idea. On the other hand i used to fligh between germany and Japan for business. The best carrier in my opinion is Japan Airlines. Otherwise i actually prefer Lufthansa groub & LOT to ANA. On an ANA flight you always feel like an alien as european who understands japanese... p.s. Lufthansa group airlines are all pretty similar. I would always choice the fastes connection or the cheapest flight. But the difference between swiss, lufthansa and austrian airline is most of the times marginal.
10 min 50 secs The purser has just realised that you are filming. As the Aussies say she is having a real"sticky beak"(being very nosy). Nice vid mate.
Follow me on instagram.com/gotravelyourway for daily updates on my travels! See you :)
Ah.....for quite some time Josh, I have been trying to makes out your accent !
Now I know, a mix of German, Aussie, and Asian !😁
That seat was definitely gross !🤢.... especially the headphones.
I thought ( from what I have seen on TH-cam) , that all headphones came in sealed bags, even before covid ! Glad to see at least the crew were excellent.
All this time, I thought you were Asian! 😂😉 I had no idea you were German! Lol
Josh your too clean and handsome for LH
I respect you a lot sir. I like how you honestly review airlines.
Good work Josh, Greetings from Nairobi.
omg
Best wishes to Nairobi!
If you meet Steve at the Massai market, say hi to him!
So disappointing that’s the approach head office take with influencers.
old school management....
I'm a Lufthansa former customer and I would like to fly it again.
When you see stuff like that, you really start to wonder what they did with the 9 billion euro government bailout.
First, they take our tax money in Germany, and now they have gotten super greedy and have nothing to offer except extra charges on everything.
Wer soll das bezahlen? Wer hat das bestellt?
@@norbertk5400 Let´s not forget they are tax domiciled on the island of Malta!!!!!
please don't start with that "they take our tax money". if LH went bust that would be even worse for the German economy.
and please don't forget that LH are a European based airline and now some middle Eastern sheikh owned airline where money is not an object when it comes to prestige. it is a different world.
hopefully the airline industry becomes more sustainable in the future and will be prepared for a future crisis. but please do not forget that LH was a healthy and profitable airline and the crisis is not of their own making. as is the same with any other business in the travel or tourism sector.

Lufthansa has failed to impress me on every flight whether Economy, Premium Economy or Business Class, long haul or medium haul. Many people say they are overrated.
I used to like Lufthansa's economy class service, but now it has changed and i try my best to avoid it
The only product where they are still good at it is first class
correct, that's why I usually flying by LOT without disappointments, comfortable, nice crew, dishes and good wine for half price
@@andifuture2825 definitely not. I have very bad impressions
great video! also the flight attendant at 10:46 looking in the camera like ???? :D :D
I was gonna post that also! The lady staring at Josh, creepy from behind the wall. Lol 😂
@@kentwoodard2877 The famously stringent German privacy law was probably at play too
At least ot's not the one that says *"OPEN YOUR TRAY TABLE!"*
Typical German mentality you see everywhere incl. On ✈
The Flight attendant at 10:47 so sweet and mindful! In my opinion just the Flight attendants make that big difference about an airline. They should be more appreciated by their chiefs.
When a German guy criticizes Lufthansa, it has to be true!
Hey brother, I'm British and I live and work in Japan. Back in 2011 and 2012 i always fly Lufthansa from NRT to Germany for wok, and they were just crap. This airline definitely isn't a 5 star airline. At most I would say 4 star.
@@asifazam4512 you fly all that was just for a wok? Must be an awesome wok! :P

I guess they knew he was filming 😂😂

unacceptable cabin condition. something you'd see on a budget carrier when they're rotating flights in and out in 30 min. not on a business flag carrier.
10:46 the cabin crew was actually listening to your remarks.
I agree Jen 😀
An Amazing review. Straight forward un biased and no nonsense.
Appreciate your unbiased approach. Keep up the good work Josh, cheers
LATAM also had a 2-2-2 configuration in the A350. BUT, they’ve just retired this aircraft from the fleet, unfortunately. I’ve flown with them in Y in 2019 and it was a great experience!
I love when u give honest opinion on an airline
Whether its of any country :)
Brilliant and so eloquently put! The master class of vlogging . Thank you for being true to your world for bringing us the product AS IS !
I like your honest reviews, way better than other youtubers who only talk about positive sides. Way to go.
Good on you for calling them out. Let alone these times, simply not good enough!
5*??!!!!!!... Having flown Lufthansa almost a dozen times, I absolutely refuse to give them more than 2*... Largely due to their pathetic service...
You had to fly a dozens of times to realise that, took me 1 flight 😂😂😝😝
Cannot believe that an international airline doesn’t sanitize their cabins especially at this time ... well done for highlighting this fact Josh
Yes really shocking and hope they make a comment around how they’ll be ensuring quality control of their processes!
The stereotype of "German efficiency", is perhaps not as true as we've been led to believe.
Probably a better deal to fly Lufthansa in economy class. I flew with them in Economy a few times and they are not bad, but you are completely right about them being quite misleading. I prefer Swiss airlines over Lufthansa.
That's unfortunate, I'm flying out of Italy this year on Lufthansa. Should be...fun. lol
I have flown with Lufthansa in Economy 3 times (CRJ900, B747-400, and A330-300). Honestly Lufthansa is great in my opinion; never had any problems with them. I just do not think it meets up to the 5-star standard.
It’s probably not as bad as you think lol.
Lufthansa is still a very good airline - don't believe every stuff you hear about them. Some people try to make look LH bad on purpose. Usually LH does not disappoint.
Glück Auf Josh!
Thanks for the video! Keep up the great work!Just two things I would like to mention:
Amazing review Josh. Josh gives you the insights of airlines you wont find anywhere else. He really shows you whats really under the airlines name.
Thanks for sharing, always love your unbiased reviews that show product as it is. The price of airline tickets and the claims they make need to be justified and it’s videos like yours that help travel decisions be made - rather than the “everything is great!” videos by others which I dislike. Bravo!
You should leave a small cheese in the headphone storage area. See if the next passenger found it! That will be so funny 🤣
I'm pretty sure Josh left some human skin/hair/spit that will remain there until the next business class is built in.
Nothing screams "First class" like TUC biscuits.....only the finest from any regular German supermarket
(no offense to TUC Biscuits)
I’ve always found the LH business class to be comfortable if not exactly leading edge. In more recent years I’ve flown Air France long haul and have to say I prefer their service over that of LH.
Very surprised by this I would expect the German's to be top notch when it comes to cleaning especially during a pandemic
You can be shitty 5 star airline if you pay enough. Thats how germany works. You can buy cheapest shit, make on it your brand like a bosch and sell it for 8 times more. Germans moustly brands chineese products and sell it.
Absolutely, I strongly agree with you you; you actually help airlines improve their services by finding out where their issues are!
One of your best reviews, love your work Josh!
If the crew was so good, why wouldn't you ask them what was up with the headphones or the crumbs?
Emirates does fly to Mexico.....flew from Dubai to Mexico last year.......DXB-BCN-CDMX
Lufthansa invested more money into a 5 star rating badge than all of their cabin products combined
Thank you for your statement, people react like you're criticising their identity.
10.51 somebody in crew seems to be taking notes about what you are saying :D
Josh, still not eating your vegetables like a very naughty boy lol, and that cabbage looked so tasty too...
Same experience with the cleanliness. Nov 2020 and Jan 2021, i flew with LH Business class round trip. Both flights were not good in term of cleanliness.
Josh: I thought Cahill was an Irish name.
Still, I have very nice memories of Lufthansa, did a job training from school at their technical base (different company, I know ;-) )
Today I have to say, it is nothing special to fly Lufthansa and doesn't differ flying national to their budget carrier Eurowings.
10:49 what we slow 😭😭😭
For over €3,000 your WiFi should be included.
This has been one of your best videos to date. Thanks for sharing.
latam airlines does not have direct aisle business class on a350 too
Good on you for calling them out.
INDEED!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Will you let us know if Lufthansa contacts you? I’m curious to know if they will and what they’ll say.
Follow me on Instagram - that’s where I usually update my subs on such things :)
Good to see you're pointing out the truths in these airlines!
Thank you and keep up the good travels
airlines not prioritizing thorough cleaning of planes during this pandemic says a lot
My last trip on Lufthansa was terrible with rude staff that couldn’t care less that I was handicapped and just had spinal surgery and the cabin was super hot throughout the flight!
Your reviews are so honest...
Being a German you still tell the problems of the German carrier.
Great work man. 👍
That is exactly what I would have called Lufthansa that's why I've got a Bone to pick with them other airlines deserve a five Star rating
I found LH to be filthy on my flights as well. Dirty seats, trash lying in arm rest area- yuck. Service though has been top notch
The last time I saw the Sauerbraten dish, it was a translation of svíčková. Interesting to see it can be served with Spätzle instead of dumplings.
I've flown with lufthansa pre-covid, the standard on the seats was far better than that. They were a lot cleaner, but a bit worn. Staff was as nice and kind as your flight and I flew economy.
My airline normally do the cleaning check in the cabin and then we would confirm n sign off for the cleaners to leave the aircraft before flights, plus security search is another opportunity to take a closer look at things n take our left over trash, cuz we have search every seat, corner, floors ect,
So to end up w a crumbs filled seat, the clean has been overlooked at least twice.
I'm tempted to use LH for my long haul this year so this is education for me.
I have flown with Lufthansa in Economy, they are not bad. But honestly I prefer Swiss airlines.
Josh bravo for the honest review about your own airline... The aircraft appearance team fully responsible for the mess!!!
10 min 50 secs The purser has just realised that you are filming. As the Aussies say she is having a real"sticky beak"(being very nosy). Nice vid mate.
You are right - that seat isn't worth the price. I like how you describe it: Canoe Effect. And to claim to clean - the earphones proved them wrong.
I have a lot of German friends.Their cleanliness is one of their best qualities. It's surprising-at least on that particular seat-on the flag carrier.
Nice review and very truthful and honest. What a shame, it turned out below par.
