    For the season 2, i don't know if you've found all the different topics, but there are some that are maybe being interested
    1 - Topics on business as we spend lots of time at work
    2 - Suggestion : some episodes where you talk to another native english speaker at your normal speaking speed. I don't know it can be possible.
    3 - Pronounciation
    4 - Phrasal verbs : you did give us some phrasal verbs in each episode but maybe some specific episodes on phrasal verbs.
    When i attend some meetings with native speakers they use it very often and most of them I've never heard or used.
    Just a few suggestions, hope it can help.
    Anyway thank you a lot, and thank you also for your good mood and your passion for learning english.

    Today, I completed S1:E20. I watched every single episode with full attention. I'm feeling emotional now that I've finished season one. I didn't just watch your podcasts; I also created memories and connections throughout the journey. I'll definitely revisit some episodes again in the future!
    Thank you, Mark and Kat. Both of you are helping me improve my English. I want to share an observation with you: I had an interview with a company last week, and I found myself more confident during the process, with better fluency than ever before. I believe you both played a big role in that improvement. I'll continue watching the next season with the same dedication ❤

    Guys, thank you for the video.❤❤❤
    Do you use the verb "postpone" tasks instead of "put off" in everyday life?

    • @highlevellistening
      @highlevellistening  22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Good question!
      "postpone" is definitely a synonym of "put off". The word you choose depends on how formal or casual you want to be.
      - To sound more casual and conversational, say: "I put off some tasks until tomorrow."
      - To sound more formal, say: "I need to postpone some tasks until tomorrow."
      Hope that makes sense!

    to be back into the flow and to be up to speed again does-it mean "to recover the speed before"

    • @highlevellistening
      @highlevellistening  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes - that's a good description.
      When you were working before your work, you had a good speed and momentum in your work. During your break, you lose that speed and "flow." When you come back to work, you get back in the flow and get back up to speed again.

    I have question: what is similar expression of “familiar” since I haven’t heard that expression commonly in usual conversation.

    • @highlevellistening
      @highlevellistening  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      "Familiar" can mean when we have experience with or knowledge about something before.
      If you say: "Yes I am familiar with Photoshop", it means you have experience using that software.
      Or in contrast if you said: "Sorry, I'm not familiar with that word". It means you have no knowledge of that word.
      So when you get back into the swing of things, you get familiar with them because you are remembering your prior experience. I hope that makes sense!

  • @OlivierJeanraux-de6mo
    @OlivierJeanraux-de6mo 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    A question please : what do you say when you ask someone at work, for any news about a topic or issue? What is the usual way?

    • @highlevellistening
      @highlevellistening  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think some common phrases are
      “Is there any news about/on… ?”
      “Are there any updates on…?”
      “Have there been any updates on…”
      “Have you heard anything new about…”
      “Could you help me with something? I’m looking for more up to date information on…”
      More information on
      An update on
      “We ran into this issue last week, have you heard anything new since then?
      All these sentences take the focus away from “you” so they make it easy to use in casual conversation at work and they feel appropriate for small talk.

    Hi Kat, you were explaining how you guys use "they/their" as a single pronoun/adjective, but in your sentence you were getting back to speed with your coworkerS -plural; so in that particular sentence, I didn't get the clarification about using a single pronoun.

    • @highlevellistening
      @highlevellistening  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I can't remember the exact words used, but I may have just mentioned the fact that we can use they/them for one person or multiple people and it's correct to use it in both ways :)
      I may have mentioned, They're getting me up to speed. (could be one coworker could be multiple coworkers at once)
