Thank you so much Betty! We are glad you enjoyed our video. This is, indeed, the right kind of Anise! Unfortunately, many people are confused because of the similarity with other plants. Thank you for your comment and support. All the best to you!

I'm growing these, which I initially thought was fennel, so I'm glad to have found your video. I have only one question: we plant the seeds to get more seeds? That's all? Thanks.

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Hi Fabrizio :) Although the leaves and stems of anise can also be consumed when fresh, the seeds are the most commonly used part of the plant. You plant the seeds to get more seeds, which can then be used to cultivate again or you can use the seeds for making tea or grind to powder. You can use the powder for baking. @hello, can the flowers be dried and used?

    •  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hello! Yes, the flowers of the aniseed plant can be dried and used. They can be used to make herbal tea or be added to culinary dishes, just like dried seeds.

From the whole plant you only use the seeds? This looks so much like a cilantro plant.

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Hi Ivette! Although the leaves and stems of anise can also be consumed when fresh, the seeds are the most commonly used part of the plant. The seeds can then be used to cultivate again or you can use the seeds for making tea or grind to powder. You can use the powder for baking. Anise is very similar to coriander as they belong to the same botanical family. However, smell and taste are very different.

We’re can you buy these seeds

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hi Carson :) You can find these seeds in garden centers. Eventually some supermarkets have them for sale too.

      @ are they just called
      Whole Aniseed???

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Wherever you buy the seeds, make sure the package mentions the scientific name "Pimpinella anisum". That's the only way to know you are buying the right thing.
