Jorghino is sooooo underrated by our supporters - and seemingly by Arteta. We needed more of him when we went on the festive season skid last year, and we needed more of him when Martin was hurt. He brings calm and control and he can pick a long penetrating pass. More jorgi means more points.
I dont think he is Everyone knows what he's good at And we know what he's bad at Its about finding the correct balance I love jorginho but i know he gets cooked in defensive situations
How can you say underated by arteta when arteta went against the grain and signed him!! He's doing exactly what arteta wanted him for, filling in at a very high performance level, for the first time in overall decade we have a proper squad, the bench Saturday was unbelievable, the talent on it was excellent, the subs that came on performed. My only criticism is nwaneri should of played more games when martin was out, if our squad performs, this is far from over
Gavi & Pedri great Barca talents. Rushed into 1st team, now they look like they're injury prone. Ansu Fati rushed, now his confidence is tanked. Arsenal fans must allow this boys bone to mature, and let Arteta work with him slowly similar to what he did with Saka. Also, agents and family members should not start turning his head with money during contract talks. Everyone should allow this boy to grow. He will be s super star at Arsenal in time
The champions league games are more important than most people realise! It's not the same as last year, there are no longer draws to see who faces who, it's entirely set out based on your league position! Yes, there's still an element of luck on who you face if a good team has underperformed, but generally the higher up we finish the easier teams we face!
Neymar, Mount, Gavi, Pedri - so many players that have played an unprecedented amount of games at a young age and look at their injury records now! Foden on the other hand is regularly available & fit. Ethan is being introduced in a way that is sustainable for his career. As frustrating as it is at times, Mikel appears to be doing the right thing. Great content as always Charles, COYG
It's downright shocking that anonymous keyboard heroes genuinely think they know more about Nwaneri and his talent and his development than the professional coaching staff at Arsenal. I say shocking, it's actually rather comical.
Gyokeres the biggest threat in Sporting obviously. Also a very good chance to see him very closely. I think it will also be a game where Arsenal scouting team keep a close tab on Gyokeres. If he can score past Gabriel and Saliba after that Mancity peformance, Arsenal should go all in for him in the summer.
on Ethan: I certainly shared your opinion that he was ready to play a significant role during Odegaard's absence, particularly when Trossard Central stopped working. I was as equally frustrated as you that he wasn't even getting 30 minutes or a half because we could all see that he was ready to not just play, but contribute substantially to the first team. Arteta has always stated, not just with the brick by brick comments, that you have to be careful with young players. And in hindsight, i realise how impressive Arteta's restraint was during that really tough period for us. He would have been forgiven (and lauded if Ethan helped us win) for throwing his youth development prinicples in the bin and succcumbing to the pressure of our injury and form criss. But no, he resisted the temptation for the sake of Ethan's development. I think that's really top class and worth acknowledging.
I would like to see Partey, Havertz and Rice start tomorrow for sure. I think it is likely that Saka starts but I wouldnt mind seeing Sterling play significant minutes tomorrow, even from the left.
Hi Charles, I've just watched the Pep news conference. A number of times he blamed the injuries for the results, which in my opinion is fair enough, but it seems to me that if Mikel blamed injuries he would be slated by the media. Do you think this is because Mikel has not won any major trophies and Pep has? It really pisses me off. Jonesey
Love your show CW, the TGT podcast with the lovely yet freakishly large headed Tom Canton (that's a joke, he has a big beautiful head and i've listened to him everyday for years) brought me here a few months back, any truth to Kai having a concussion ?
Any formal news on the Trossard Extension? I really think he needed to know he was getting a contract - and I think he will come back to his levels. Thoughts on Leo; I personally think its a great extension to have a player like him in our squad.
It's not just about Nwaneri's development. It's also about the success of the team as a whole. Will we be sitting at the end of the season rueing the dropped points recently because we lacked the creativity to break down a stubborn Newcastle ? We've had a golden opportunity to give Nwaneri minutes while Odegaard has been injured and we've mostly squandered them. If we'd been cruising through games comfortably that would have been fine but we haven't. I just hope we don't look back in a few years and view Arteta as a "nearly man". Someone who never wins anything because of his rigidity and inflexibility. Arguably that cost us the league two seasons ago when we continued to play the same players week after week even when it wasn't really working and teams had learned how to defend against us. We have a good squad and we need to use them like we did against Notts Forest.
Jesus, one goal in his last 29 games, not scored since January 2024. It was Trossard who played longer as the 9 this past weekend. Jesus mostly played on the left.
Good afternoon Charles. I wonder what is the view of one Jason Cundy. The last time I checked he was with Talksport and the gabbage he spewed on Arteta's introduction of Ethan a couple of years ago. He had pretty nasty things to say and hope he is eating his humble pie
9:26 Foden is a good example but I think an evening better one is Martinelli. We were all crying out for him to start more but Arteta resisted and kept playing him once in a while...look at him now
My starting 11 against Sporting will be Raya in goal, Timber, calafiori, Gabi and Saliba. Midfield three will be Partey, Rice and Òdegard. While in attack is Matinelli, Havert and Saka
I think this would be a good game for Zinchenko to start. We need to protect Calafiori with so many games in this period. I agree with you that Rice is probably not fit yet so Partey should come in. Predicted XI: Raya; Timber Saliba Gabriel Zinchenko; Partey Merino Ødegaard; Saka Havertz Martinelli.
Hi Charles yous said you’ve never seen three worse goals given away like Southampton at the weekend well I have, I watched Mustafi and Rob Holding for far too long🙆🏿♂️😩
My opinion on the Nwaneri is that he is probably good to go now. Odegard makes it difficult to play a 3 man midfield, everything Odegard does is a marvel!. I would consider changing shape (343 or352) in closing half hour of a match.. I think Liverpool are not such a great team, Take Salah and Gomez out and it will be a midtable side. Salah still has the skills, but is looking a bit slower, as the season rolls he might look less decent.
8:52 what you're missing is the odegaard injury. there was an opportunity there but Arteta didn't take it. The foden comparison is irrelevant in that regard
Ethan predominantly plays in Odegaards position. He is not in front of the captain, doesn't matter how much talent he has. Get a grip, he's 17. He will get his opportunities
Liverpool have been grinding results for the most part of the 11 games played their luck is going to run out if they grind results for 38 games fair play coz you wright Charles Liverpool is not convincing
I am talk90 to 120 min more in PL not flogging him to death lol. Odegaard injured left on did nothing then went international and got injured for 8 weeks.
Ethan is still a kid..his body hasn't fully reached the adult level..if he was to start then he gets tackled and is out for season..?..mikel is right to be looking after him this way
All this brick by brick talk from Arteta is nonsense. Fabregas and Wilshere were thrown in and they performed. If 4 Barcelona players under 18 can play week in week out Arsenal are nowhere near the stature of Barca!
Rice is Arsenal weakest link in the base midfielders this season, keep Partey and Merino in midfield - lots of football brain in there not galloping football.
Looking forward to watching this game hopefully this comes back to bit Arteta on the backside with the form gyokeres is in again...31 Goals so far this season for club and country....... But we Have Havertz who has scored 7 for club and country and jesus who has scored 1.. Arteta not signing gyokeres is the reason we won't win the League this season or next....
@davidsmith1905 this is madness from you ,you are mentioning red card and injuries how those red cards come especially for Treasard and Saliba and we want him to play in midfield rather than Treasard who was the causative for those two red cards.
It's possible Nwaneri MIGHT have made a difference in some of those games, but my namesake is correct. Red cards and injuries absolutely cost us points!
Jorghino is sooooo underrated by our supporters - and seemingly by Arteta. We needed more of him when we went on the festive season skid last year, and we needed more of him when Martin was hurt. He brings calm and control and he can pick a long penetrating pass. More jorgi means more points.
I dont think he is
Everyone knows what he's good at
And we know what he's bad at
Its about finding the correct balance
I love jorginho but i know he gets cooked in defensive situations
We play better when he plays. He is the glue in the team
Trossard has better ball control than Martinelli
Arteta is his biggest fan wdym

Charles, thanks for providing great content. Saka reminds me of Wiltod
It's downright shocking that anonymous keyboard heroes genuinely think they know more about Nwaneri and his talent and his development than the professional coaching staff at Arsenal. I say shocking, it's actually rather comical.
Is it also possible that one man doesn’t know everything

Don’t underestimate Goncalves and Nuno Santos both are a huge threat as well

Arteta is yet to offer a Master Class European Night, time to show us something, this week, always struggle away From Home
Been thinking this for the past few years
6-0 against lens was a great performance
@@bigtingman3910 Home Game, lost away To Lens

Hi Charles,
There are certain players that without them any team will crumble a bit.
Look at City & Rodri
Liverpool & Salah or Vigil
9:26 Foden is a good example but I think an evening better one is Martinelli. We were all crying out for him to start more but Arteta resisted and kept playing him once in a while...look at him now

Ooh hot take, that one! So our strongest 11.
You should be a manager!
The McCarthy goal vs Liverpool was pure Matador and the ball was the bull. Ole.
Can you make the sound start at the very beginning please :)
Hi Charles. Up to position 70 in your FPL mini-league and have 5 FT available this week! 😊
league code bro?

Im not convinced by Liverpool also - If after 28games they are still 8+ points clear then hmmmmm
I think this would be a good game for Zinchenko to start. We need to protect Calafiori with so many games in this period. I agree with you that Rice is probably not fit yet so Partey should come in.

@@mattsloan9421 Ranieri did it at the drop of a hat, why not? You make wine with the grapes you have.
There has to be changes , Haverts partey rice martinelli all come in for me
Phil Foden is NOT living up to expectations. Nwaneri deserves a run in the first team just like Fabregas got

Arteta Out
Kroenke Out
Hilarious?
For me the same 11 with 1 change.Partey in for Jorghino
Jesus? Really?

I would rather rest Partey for the weekend, I m sure Jorginho will do a great job.

It’s pay day today Charles how much do you want for the gaff. After bills I’ve got about £500 quid
We are 9 points behind Liverpool because our manager has not trust our own Nwaneri in absence of odegard
Your comment is Rubbish.....we are nine points behind because of the red cards and injuries
Biggest load of rubbish you have just chatted
