This was the moment I finally understood what everyone was talking about. The way he moves, his voice, even the way he touches her hand is so elegant. The way he holds himself up, I finally saw the Cumberbatch everyone was falling to their knees for. It was that moment I became a Cumbercookie.

+ssnakezz Sherlock would have never solved any case without being motivated or passionate about it. Motivation is an emotion, triggered and stimulated by dopamine. Our emotions and our reasoning are not opposites. This has always bothered me about the show.

I'm so used to hollywood productions when it comes to tv shows, where it's just about making as many episodes as possible and saving as much money for the return, that this episode just completely blew me off my chair. I've always loved sherlock but never got the hype around Benedict Cumberbatch and this show, but everything about this is absolutely brilliant and beyond any production i have ever seen. Every single dialogue, every single actor, the music, the sound effects. You can tell it's definitely worth it to produce less but put everything you got into it. And this scene proves it.
Amazing writing, amazing acting, amazing music, amazing directing. The BBC is one of those things that are truly unique about the UK. Thanks about that.
Definitely one of the better episodes of all the shows I've seen, Sherlock included. Must-watch series. Man I got goosebumps watching this entire episode.
To be honest, I think this "break up" affected Sherlock as much as it did Irene. He had, in many ways, found his female counterpart. Had they gone on further, he may have developed at least some sort of platonic love for her. To find she had betrayed his trust and tricked him broke him slightly inside. He could've accessed Irene's phone any time after he worked out she was nurturing a crush on him, but I think part of him was waiting until the end of the game to make sure he was completely, absolutely sure that she was a criminal.
TheNegativeDude Irene says earlier in the episode "Ill have you right here on this bench until you beg for mercy", he answers "i dont beg", she says "twice"
For me, this is the best episode of the series and one of the best episodes of any television show I've ever seen. None of the rest of the series even comes close to how good this is.
When he says, "Nooooo..." right before "Because I took your pulse", that's the closest I've come to physically hearing a man purr in speech. Whenever someone asks what a velvety voice sounds like, I direct them to this moment. o_O
From 0:47 Sherlock Holmes: No. Irene Adler: Sorry? SH: I said no. Very, very close, but no. You got carried away. The game was too elaborate, you were enjoying yourself too much. IA: There's no such thing as too much. SH: Oh, enjoying the thrill of the chase is fine. Craving the distraction of the game, I sympathise entirely, but sentiment? Sentiment is a chemical defect found in the losing side. IA: Sentiment? What are you talking about? SH: You. IA: Oh, dear God. Look at the poor man. You don't actually think I was interested in you? Why? Because you're the great Sherlock Holmes, the clever detective in the funny hat? SH: No. Because I took your pulse. Elevated. Your pupils dilated. SH: Imagine John Watson thinks love's a mystery to me, but the chemistry is incredibly simple and very destructive. When we first met, you told me that disguise is always a self-portrait - how true of you. The combination to your safe, your measurements ... but this, this is far more intimate, this is your heart and you should never let it rule your head. You could have chosen any random number and walked out off here today with everything you worked for. But you just couldn't resist it, could you? I've always assumed that love is a dangerous disadvantage. Thank you for the final proof. IA: Everything I said, it's not real. I was just playing the game. SH: I know. And this is just losing. SH: There you are, Brother, hope the contents make up for any inconvenience I may have caused you tonight. Mycroft Holmes : I'm certain they will. SH: If you're feeling kind, lock her up, otherwise let her go, I doubt she'll survive long without her protection. IA: Are you expecting me to beg? SH: Yes. IA: Please. You're right. I won't even last six months. SH: Sorry about dinner.
I just love this one of my favourite scenes he really plays her takes her down so cold and that sorry about dinner ouch. But he cares really or he wouldn't of rescued her
I think of Sherlock [in this show] as a sapiosexual. Not only did he save Irene at the end of the episode, but based on his expression in the last scene, just before he put her cell phone away...I definitely think he had some feelings for her. (Also, the idea of Sherlock having that kind of sexuality supports the Sherlock x Moriarty ship very well. ;)
Jesus! this is a master piece.... this scene was so well done. you can see Sherlock love for her turned into rage but at the end he still care for her as she do for him
+Norrin Radd He loved her? Why? Because she's a woman? Even in ACD canon he didn't love her. Admired her, yes. Had a lot of respect for her, yes. But love? Nope.
Yes, ACD was horrendous at continuity! :D But I'd say, Holmes kept a photo of her because she beat him, not only once. And this photo was like a reminder. Maybe because he was baffled that A WOMAN can actually beat him.
American television has EVERYTHING to learn from British television. No million-dollar CGI, no insane stunts or exotics locations, hell, even the film looks like documentary footage, but take all that away and you are left with what REALLY matters; the STORY. And there, Sherlock blows everything else currently airing away just as elegantly as he just did Adler. One guy tapping a phone four times while speaking softly was every bit as dramatic as aliens blowing up New York City in 3D. Beat THAT!
@@kelkellacsamana7298 The fourth season isn't bad. And the fifth season of _Breaking Bad,_ despite many memorable moments towards the end, is still mostly empty.
To me, Lara and Benedict both gave an extraordinary performance, also thx to Steven & Mark who rewrote the story and made it so neat. it makes my heart jumped no matter how many times i watch, damn.
This scene totally blew my mind. I started watching Sherlock a few days ago and the first season was GREAT! With the first episode of the second this was just perfect. The music, the choice of words were remarkable! Greetings from a SHERlocked guy from Germany :)
"Because I took your pulse. Elevated; your pupils dilated" will forever be my favorite quote. It's the moment where every puzzle piece falls where it belongs. It's the moment when everyone truly realizes what The Woman had desired for. It's the episodes' most important scene, the conclusion of it all. It sounds like words taken from a poem; how Benedict delivers the line is flawless as well. Whisper, yet remarkably powerful.
It also reveals how cold that sentence is in and of itself. The fact that he choose to monitor her pulse in a situation like that shows a very cold heart which is the point. She betrayed his trust and his heart. However, Sherlock is smart enough to not let love have any impact in his decisions yet it's very evident that he's hurt by such an act. It shows the coldness of their "break up" and how Sherlock views the pain and heartbreak of love.
@@KindaKaylaHQ but yet he still saves her life in the end, I don't think that was a breakup. More of a declaration of some sort. He may hide behind a mask of steel, the fact he checked for physical manifestation of her love for him proved he somewhat hoped there would be here to find, whether was it because he loved her too or because he tried to find a flaw in her armor. The fact is that, adding to the fact that he put himself in danger to save her from death, he also composed a violin melody for her, and the two only other people he ever composed for are John (for his wedding day) and Eurus (his own sister), he doesn't compose music without love or admiration for someone. And love and admiration are really intertwined for him if you think deeply. I think he admired her for her courage and her intelligence, for her boldness too, and that admiration might have turned into love at some point. But that's just my opinion after all haha ^^
Irene may be a strong woman and a dominatrix, but in this scene where her heart laid bare for Sherlock to see she was just like any other woman. Seriously, this is so well played by both of them! The voices, the whispering, the slight touching - one of the best scenes of the series!
She couldn't hide her feeling toward Sherlock and that's causing to her lost. At least, both of them are not like typical romance between detective-criminal. It gives me chill everytime I see this scene.
romychan18 she still resisted tough " everything i have said. it is a lie. i just played the game" while finally she shed single tears. and the moment just before she almost executed. final words " goodbye, mr holmes". the proof that even for most intelligent manipulative sociopaths, love still made you do foolish things
Adam Ikr, I agree. In Series 3 episode 3 though, Magnussen identifies Sherlock's porn preference as "normal" when his mind palace knowledge flashes on the screen. What do you make of this 'cos I don't think it fits with Sherlock's character?
I'm not sure, Sherlock really doesn't seem the type to watch porn IMO. But I feel like if he puts sexual activity long after solving cases he has to do something to cope with it.
I feel like when Sherlock is giving his little speech to Irene he's trying to convince to himself. He loved her, it's obvious so when he's talking about sentiment and the game and the final proof he's also telling himself
He didn't loved her, but I think Irene loved him. "Love is a dangerous disadvantage. Thank you for the final proof." Sherlock was only attracted to her intelligence and cleverness. She had really impressed him and he could messed up himself with her on the same mental level. But he cared enough about her to save her so that she could started a new life.
@@christinabeyer9298he loved her. The scene between Watson and his brother sets that up. Is she the woman due to loathing? Or a one of a kind woman. Benedict answers this by saying the woman twice. Meaning he did love her and it’s also implied they had intimacy. The actors even confirmed it
@@shannoncaldwell8012 Dear, he "confirmed" nothing. Even Mycroft called Irene Adler "The woman," what is her title as professional dominatrix, not more, and not less. Irene worked for Moriarty, Sherlocks arch enemy, and got her orders from him. Certainly a reason to "love" her. Irene stated herself as gay, and Sherlock is not interested in women.
@@christinabeyer9298 the actors did confirm it. “Dear.” And the context to Irene Adler saying im gay. But look at us. To john indicated he liked women, she liked women but both found themselves infatuated with Sherlock. The “dinner” tidbit Irene did with Sherlock was literally her asking for sex. Sherlock even tells her when he checked her pulse that she has sentiment for him. You should really re watch the scenes it’s clear as all day with anyone that uses 1% of their brain this was a love story .
Irene Adler is proof that you can make so dynamic a character in just a few pages of a book that in almost all derivations of the book she occupies a major role.
is that Ashitaka as your profile picture? i love Miyazaki's movies! :) (i know that has nothing to do with your comment or the clip but i HAD to mention it.)
***** ya :) it's Ashitaka from Princess Mononoke lol. i'm surprised that someone actually recognized this character. he's not very well known in anime world... ya Miyazaki's movies are awesome :D
Kaiji I've seen some movies too, he's great: Porco Rosso, Chihiro's Journey, that one about the floating castle (I don't remember the name!) and I saw last one lately about the disegner of a special plane of war. His sense of beauty... He's amazing...
Matt I've never seen princess mononoke, I thought it would suck so I din't buy it, I personally enjoyed "the wind rises" and "howl's moving castle" among others
In the episode "A Scandal in Belgravia" when sherlok decodes the email of Irene Edler... its fascinating to see how quickly he speak those lines.. Its hard to believe how he does that..... That was an epic scene too..
Amity Bread ah sherlok....the english half brother to deathlok. 😂😂 still i love this episode, just when you think sherlock has been brought low by irene and played for a fool he comes back stronger than ever before. this is the first episode i saw and instantly i was SHERlocked 😀
The fact that both of their pupils were dilated at the same moment shows these two loves each other a lot. Irene is playing for the sake of playing and for her life and Sherlock on the other hand knows he will loose her completely if he do what he does and would devastate him for good. Masterpiece!
@@workoutfordance4023 As a sign of respect. He liked the fact that she liked to play. But Sherlock is not stupid enough to fall in love with her. He also likes to play "cat and mouse", but he plays honestly, unlike a whore. Don't forget, Irene used it for Moriarty. Sherlock does not forgive this, because trust is very important to him.
TheMinimumPC She isn't, as far as we've seen the story develop, she's still alive and somewhere out there. And I sincerely hope there's a prominent role for her in S4, absolutely brilliant how she portrayed the role...
@@villanelleveeeee i have nothing against Johnlock, everyone can ship whatever they want :) but i noticed many fans were really obsessed with it even though Moffat and Gatiss never confirmed anything, of course fans will get disappointed. As an Adlock shipper I am really thankful for those little Irene moments though
does anyone here want to praise the music director. the way the music start after Sherlock said "..because I take your pulse.." bring the chill on my spine..
My God... this scene is so sad the look n her eyes when Sherlock is unblocking her own heart is so devastating no matter what type of person a woman is... when is about a matter of the heart she is always so fragile T-T this is pure poetry
When Sherlock begins to call her out, you can tell she begins to panic when she starts downgrading him. Her eyes widen just before she starts her little line with "Dear God..." I love this pairing! I think they are very well-suited for each other.
It is a revelation rewatching this scene after "The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes". Initially I felt pity for Irene after Sherlock so coldly analyzed her love for him. Now I pity Sherlock for wilfully and stubbornly seeing all forms of human affection as "chemical defects" and completely missing the irony of how that makes him more human than ever.
Interesting analysis. I agree that he is made more human in this episode than ever before. But this scene isn't him pitying her. To me at least, it was a way for him to appear detached to her. Calling it a "chemical defect" was essentially his revenge for her initially (and repeatedly) outsmarting him. In his mind this is his last chance to prove his superiority over her, and to himself I think as well. What better way to do that than to belittle her? In Sherlock's mind it is the only option as in his mind this is the end. At least, that's my interpretation. I just love how much this episode changes everything. It's my all time favorite. 😂
Kirstie Donaldson i think quite other reason. when irene mentioned moriarty, sherlock seems shocked. but when she mentioned how moriarty is the kind of man she wanted, sherlock close his eyes and then begun his attacks. like a scorned man by his love
She still is the woman who beat him! Let's not forget, she says "I want to know that people will be on my side exactly when I need them to be".... And where was Sherlock when she needed him most? Half way across the world, saving her neck. She still won. He may have won that round, but she won the game.
This is one of the most intense and emotional scenes I have ever seen in a tv program. Was fantastic and loved every bit of it. But it will never beat the first time I seen it. I generally felt heart broke for Sherlock until he just unleashed his true opinion and results.
This scene, the scene where Sherlock rescues Mrs. Hudson and the “American” falls out the window multiple times and naked Sherlock wrapped in a sheet in Buckingham Palace are favorites....but there are so many more....Sherlock “ bored” and shooting holes in the wall and any episode that has Sherlock and Anderson in it.
The first time I saw this scene, I had to watch it again IMMEDIATELY. It was so satisfying seeing Sherlock solve the code in such an intelligent way. And that sexy whisper of ''because I took your pulse'' gets me every time. Best concluding scene ever.
I get goosebumps everytime I watch this scene. As an avid reader of Sir Doyle's works, I must say, even though in the stories Sherlock was never romantically interested, this scene brings Sherlock and Irene to life.
Good lord, every time you come across a scene of Benedict Cumberbatch from Sherlock and you just can't help yourself from saying, what a bloody good actor this guy is! And not to forget that impeccable charm!
Everything is perfect in this scene. The actors and their placement in the screen, the words, the music, the editing... And of course the superb voice of Cumberbatch.
This whole scene is definitely one of the best I've witnessed in film. Writing, acting, music, everything. I just want to point out how cold Sherlock's last sentence was. "Sorry about dinner." It's almost sarcastic, the way he enunciates it was filled with contempt, cold and condescending. There's even a hint of Professor Snape's(Alan Rickman) tone in it. Love it.
Out of an already brilliant series, this is one of the best scenes from one of the best episodes. I've watched this entire episode many, many times and never tire of it. The end, especially was cleverly romantic and pretty amazing.
This scene is my favourite of Sherlock. Acting, music, story, all is perfect. The idea of "SHER LOCKED" is incredible. This is one of my favourite scene of all time. I shiver every time I watch it.
This guy is FANTASTIC!! I love her English, and the violin theme they picked for her. I loved it when she made a quick appearance in Jon's wedding episode, and they had her theme played. Fits her well :)
I loved how her voice trembled as she said "Oh, look at the poor man" great acting

I do think he was in love with her. From the get go
They lost the opportunity to make them say:
- Are you expecting me to beg?
-Twice.
Anyway, one of the best scenes i've seen
Sorry i dont get it. Why would he say twice?
he says yes not twice
I said that in my head while watching it lol
TheNegativeDude Irene says earlier in the episode "Ill have you right here on this bench until you beg for mercy", he answers "i dont beg", she says "twice"
Yeah!!! Even I expected dat dialog.
For me, this is the best episode of the series and one of the best episodes of any television show I've ever seen. None of the rest of the series even comes close to how good this is.
Ronan Deegan love Irene Adler in this! Can't wait to have her back on the show
He is such a talented actor. His eyes in 2:31, in a split second he expressed both anger and longing for Irene. Bravo!
When he says, "Nooooo..." right before "Because I took your pulse", that's the closest I've come to physically hearing a man purr in speech. Whenever someone asks what a velvety voice sounds like, I direct them to this moment. o_O
Adler: Because you are the great detective with a funny hat?
Sherlock: No, because I'm the Sorcerer Supreme...
nce one
No, because I am king under the mountain...
No, because I'm the one and only Benedict Cumberbatch! :)
No, because I'm the genius mathematician who broke the most famous German code Enigma......
No. Because I am Khan.
Imagine after all that, it was the wrong password.
Imagine if it was 5HER.
Or 5H3R
I AM 5H3R LOCKED.
🤣🤣🤣
From 0:47
Sherlock Holmes: No.
Irene Adler: Sorry?
SH: I said no.
Very, very close, but no.
You got carried away.
The game was too elaborate,
you were enjoying yourself too much.
IA: There's no such thing as too much.
SH: Oh, enjoying the thrill
of the chase is fine.
Craving the distraction of the game,
I sympathise entirely, but sentiment?
Sentiment is a chemical defect
found in the losing side.
IA: Sentiment?
What are you talking about?
SH: You.
IA: Oh, dear God.
Look at the poor man.
You don't actually think
I was interested in you?
Why?
Because you're the great
Sherlock Holmes,
the clever detective
in the funny hat?
SH: No.
Because I took your pulse.
Elevated.
Your pupils dilated.
SH: Imagine John Watson thinks
love's a mystery to me,
but the chemistry is incredibly
simple and very destructive.
When we first met, you
told me that disguise
is always a self-portrait
- how true of you.
The combination to your safe,
your measurements ...
but this,
this is far more intimate,
this is your heart and you should
never let it rule your head.
You could have chosen
any random number
and walked out off here today
with everything you worked for.
But you just couldn't resist it,
could you?
I've always assumed that love
is a dangerous disadvantage.
Thank you for the final proof.
IA: Everything I said, it's not real.
I was just playing the game.
SH: I know.
And this is just losing.
SH: There you are, Brother,
hope the contents make up for any
inconvenience
I may have caused you tonight.
Mycroft Holmes : I'm certain they will.
SH: If you're feeling kind, lock her up,
otherwise let her go, I doubt
she'll survive long
without her protection.
IA: Are you expecting me to beg?
SH: Yes.
IA: Please.
You're right.
I won't even last six months.
SH: Sorry about dinner.
Thank you I had struggles with some parts because it was so unclearly (is this a existing word xD) spoken.
That one is the comment that I was looking for thnx
I was looking for such comment😆
This is poetry. Thanks.
I just love this one of my favourite scenes he really plays her takes her down so cold and that sorry about dinner ouch. But he cares really or he wouldn't of rescued her
Or maybe its more he respects her
+Meg Patt yes he like that she is as clever as him she is somewhat on his level
Meg Patt hint: look at what he do when he whispers in irene's ear. there is saying about men and smelling the hair of woman they love
I think of Sherlock [in this show] as a sapiosexual. Not only did he save Irene at the end of the episode, but based on his expression in the last scene, just before he put her cell phone away...I definitely think he had some feelings for her.
(Also, the idea of Sherlock having that kind of sexuality supports the Sherlock x Moriarty ship very well. ;)
Jesus! this is a master piece.... this scene was so well done. you can see Sherlock love for her turned into rage but at the end he still care for her as she do for him
So true!
+Norrin Radd
He loved her? Why? Because she's a woman? Even in ACD canon he didn't love her. Admired her, yes. Had a lot of respect for her, yes. But love? Nope.
Yes, ACD was horrendous at continuity! :D
But I'd say, Holmes kept a photo of her because she beat him, not only once. And this photo was like a reminder. Maybe because he was baffled that A WOMAN can actually beat him.
+Ivy Locked Not only once, but twice... That's why Irene is the first woman that make Sherlock admire her...
Ivy Locked Not that a woman beat him, that THE WOMAN beat him ;)
American television has EVERYTHING to learn from British television.
Beat THAT!
@Neha Negi Ultraviolet is similarly awesome.
Ever heard of breaking bad?
@@kelkellacsamana7298 Even _Breaking Bad_ is no match for _Sherlock,_ and I'm completely serious. It's still an excellent series, of course.
@@iceace4277 the fourth season exist
@@kelkellacsamana7298 The fourth season isn't bad. And the fifth season of _Breaking Bad,_ despite many memorable moments towards the end, is still mostly empty.
"Because I took your pulse."
You can take my pulse anyday, Benedict.
Devastatingly beautiful score to this scene.
Both their pupils were dilated. 🌚🌝
Don't forget that Sherlock is a high-functioning sociopath. But, according to books, Irene Adler is the one.. ^^
if sherlock wasn't intrested in her, he wouldn't have saved her from beheading ;)
Francesco Favro True That!!! And he would not compose sad music when everyone thought she died (the first time)!!!
The way this scene still takes my breath away and it’s 11 years later my gosh😭
I feel like when Sherlock is giving his little speech to Irene he's trying to convince to himself. He loved her, it's obvious so when he's talking about sentiment and the game and the final proof he's also telling himself
He didn't loved her, but I think Irene loved him.
"Love is a dangerous disadvantage. Thank you for the final proof."
Sherlock was only attracted to her intelligence and cleverness. She had really impressed him and he could messed up himself with her on the same mental level.
But he cared enough about her to save her so that she could started a new life.
Finally someone said it. I thought soo too
@@christinabeyer9298he loved her.
The ending of the episode brought me more tears then this scene! The When i say Run, RUN! Is by far the best scene
LamaGamesTV yeah it made me feel a strong sense of love. Though i couldn't think why!
When Sherlock grabs Irene's hand, and he leans in just a bit, Irene looks at his lips ready to kiss.
Truestoryguy heart breaking isnt it. for the woman who played with so many heart had her comeuppance
"Love is a dangerous disadvantage" Sooo true
Benedict Cumberbatch... Amazing actor ! He is so powerful with his strong voice. One of my favorite series.
Hahaha, definitely my favorite scene from my favorite episode! Sherlock is just so frighteningly magnificent here...
I cry EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. The violin solo in the background... DAMN!
Seriously, the script, acting, music and camera work in this scene is flawless. I get chills everytime the music starts to build up.
Cinematic masterpiece.
One of the best scenes I've ever seen on television.
This scene broke my heart.
Again.
Again.
And again.
His voice and her voice is just ❤

Just love them ❤💔
"This is your heart and you should never let it rule your head" this line alone sends shivers down my spine
Irene Adler is proof that you can make so dynamic a character in just a few pages of a book that in almost all derivations of the book she occupies a major role.
i had never liked BBC's Sherlock until i saw this scene. this is just brilliant.
is that Ashitaka as your profile picture? i love Miyazaki's movies!
I know!!!!
IKR it's truly hard to believe he can remember those lines and say them so quickly
***** And Sherlock not Sherlok
Amity Bread ah sherlok....the english half brother to deathlok. 😂😂 still i love this episode, just when you think sherlock has been brought low by irene and played for a fool he comes back stronger than ever before. this is the first episode i saw and instantly i was SHERlocked 😀
The fact that both of their pupils were dilated at the same moment shows these two loves each other a lot. Irene is playing for the sake of playing and for her life and Sherlock on the other hand knows he will loose her completely if he do what he does and would devastate him for good. Masterpiece!
He had never loved her. Mycroft's pupils were dilated there too. All three of them were sitting in a darkened room.
@@LatteKittyyyif he hadn’t then why would he save her?!
Sherlock does not forgive this, because trust is very important to him.
the chemistry, the tension, the elegance... i’m dead

Worst. Scene. And ending. Ever.
My God... this scene is so sad
the look n her eyes when Sherlock is unblocking her own heart is so devastating
no matter what type of person a woman is... when is about a matter of the heart she is always so fragile T-T this is pure poetry
When Sherlock begins to call her out, you can tell she begins to panic when she starts downgrading him. Her eyes widen just before she starts her little line with "Dear God..."
I love this pairing! I think they are very well-suited for each other.
I'm not crying. You're crying.
"I took your pulse." *faints*
It is a revelation rewatching this scene after "The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes". Initially I felt pity for Irene after Sherlock so coldly analyzed her love for him. Now I pity Sherlock for wilfully and stubbornly seeing all forms of human affection as "chemical defects" and completely missing the irony of how that makes him more human than ever.
No that doesn't make him human. Normal humans don't realize this and just react to emotions. Him realizing what they are enables him to ignore it.
what is that episode in these series?
Valentina G. Episode 1,Series 2.
Kirstie Donaldson i think quite other reason. when irene mentioned moriarty, sherlock seems shocked. but when she mentioned how moriarty is the kind of man she wanted, sherlock close his eyes and then begun his attacks. like a scorned man by his love
I`d laugh if he got it wrong xD
That would have been brilliantly funny, and truer to the source material as Adler being the woman that beat him.
he is sherlock
She still is the woman who beat him! Let's not forget, she says "I want to know that people will be on my side exactly when I need them to be".... And where was Sherlock when she needed him most? Half way across the world, saving her neck.
She still won. He may have won that round, but she won the game.
ranggitokdalang90 Wow. I had no idea. Thanks!
Caroline Worotny Sherlock would be like "Everybody forget that ever happened!"
This is one of the most intense and emotional scenes I have ever seen in a tv program. Was fantastic and loved every bit of it. But it will never beat the first time I seen it. I generally felt heart broke for Sherlock until he just unleashed his true opinion and results.
One of the best scenes I have ever seen. Really I can keep watching it forever.
As an avid reader of Sir Doyle's works, I must say, even though in the stories Sherlock was never romantically interested, this scene brings Sherlock and Irene to life.
i watched this episode with my dad and when he saw "Sherlocked" he didnt get it until a half hour later when i mentioned it again! XD
i didn't notice that either. Brilliant!!!!! ^^
"I know and this is just loosing" Badass level legendary

Ohh yes
I love the relationship between Irene and Sherlock - very intimate, from the beginning.
Everything is perfect in this scene. The actors and their placement in the screen, the words, the music, the editing... And of course the superb voice of Cumberbatch.
His voice when he says "you" and "no" is so amazing! I mean, I could listen to him all the time.
this scene, everything about it was so perfect. The acting was amazing and the music too.
Everytime he says "because I took your pulse" I get the goosebumps. Especially they way he says pulse.

I love her English, and the violin theme they picked for her. I loved it when she made a quick appearance in Jon's wedding episode, and they had her theme played. Fits her well :)
