I have never heard this song sung before Iam Tongi sang it at his concert. I thought it was beautiful then, but didn't know what he was singing about. I happened (suggested) upon this video, and I'm glad I clicked in. What a beautiful voice Filipe Manu has, and the lyrics are stunning. What a love song! Thank you for sharing.
@Angie 808 …Thanks to Iam for opening up this song to everyone. Having Tongan artist like Filipe Manu also is a wonderful role model for many Islanders too, born outside of the islands. Both Iam and Filipe with this song is helping all of us to be proud of our different Island languages and cultures! It’s uniting us through songs like this! Thanks for the comment! Mahalo!🤙🏽😇🌴
Thank you so much for translating this song, even tried to say the wors to have it translated. I have never heard a song that is so remorseful. It is absolutely memorable 💖
@Madalyn Belzowski…thank you for your wonderful comment…itʻs part of the characteristic of this type of Tongan or Island love songs! There’s a lot of hidden pain within the text itself! And youʻre spot on!🙏🤙🏽🌴
Wowa❤❤😢😢😢❤❤❤❤❤simply beautiful and touching❤❤❤❤❤Amazing Incredible singers that touches my heart, body and soul❤❤❤❤❤Thankyou so very much for your awesome reaction❤❤❤❤
They are both great singers. Filipe vocal is powerful n high. Iam vocal is low n very soulful n I like it because it is a love song. Both are different versions. Iam can sings in high tone as well. Great job.
@sue veikoso …Thank you,🙏 most of it was done by Filipe Manu…I just did a little for Iam Tongi! My boys are non Tongan speakers but are learning and this already inspires them! 🙏🤙🏽🌴🇹🇴
Aloha!! That was AMAZING!!! Wow!!! Both singers are incredibly talented with such distinctive voices! They both bring me to tears with the emotions they evoke ♥️ Mālō ʻaupito for creating this video 🫶🏼🎶🎤💞🏝️🇹🇴
Go to any Faikava on any given night, then Church on Sunday. Our men sing beautifully, so do our women. The Tongans still sing acapella, as witnessed at our rugby and rugby league games, a tradition from our Church and our traditions.
Thank you for sharing this. I wondered what this was saying. Now, it means more! It already was a beautiful song, but now more sence I know what it says. Wow.
@Kathleen Waldrup …Thank you for your comment! I thought if I find a way to share this beautiful text people will appreciate it like we do🙏 Thank you!🌴
I love the way Tongan males sing with the high tenor notes but there's a husky type of tone too. Maybe it's the older men s voices that give the sound.
I was just wondering, because I either saw or read something that Iam had said. Is Iam's father Rodney (RIL) from Ha'ateiho? I think he said his Mother Lillie is from Mu'a? But anyways, I loved your video. Thank you, for translating the song. Yessah❤️👍🏼🤙🏼🔥🔥
Yessah🤙🏽 @Dayzz L…Thank you for the info on Iam’s father Rodney! I didnʻt know that🙏! I did know that his mother Lillie is from Muʻa. I had met Lillie’s mother once when I was back on the islands because my house is between Filipe Manuʻs mom’s family home and Iam Tongiʻs mom’s family home! Thank so much for taking time to comment and help grow our appreciation for the Islands and the new infos🤙🏽🙏🇹🇴🌴Yessah🙏
I also want to mention one of the openers at Turtle Bay was Kapena, a popular group in Hawaii. One of the founding members of Kapena was Tivaini Tatofi. Tivaini Tatofi is the father of Josh Tatofi who was raised in Hawaii in a Tongan speaking household and is a Grammy-nominated and critically acclaimed musician. He recently did a cover of Efiafi just a few months ago. I wonder what you think of his version? th-cam.com/video/j8TrUv43zUw/w-d-xo.html
@muggaful1067 …Thanks for the link and the informative background. Love the Josh Talofi version! Im proud of these talented artists giving us Pacific Islanders something to be proud of! Hopefully I can make a video about these cool versions! Thanks again🤙🏽🌴😇

@Lori Jones…Yes I put up the lyrics for Islanders especially for those who want to learn a bit about what the artists are singing about…many Tongans are born outside of Tonga and would like to learn themselves! Click on the Time in the description(Tongi or Manu version) and it will show up together with the English translation with chords!🤙🏽🌴🇹🇴
Don’t forget God who own talents, but it would be nice if the talents is use for God’s glory, hymn 18:44 songs , seems like most songs are worldly songs.
The concert is July 1st… I mean it’s 1st and 2nd but iam is only performing on the 1st
@mntu21fua ...I will make sure I put up in our next content! Mahalo🙏🏽🌴
