@@marias3681 Yes, Sam Mangakāhia is a Māori artist who came to Hawaiʻi to study at BYU-Hawaiʻi on the North Shore of Oʻahu and he started his own business, Hāmiora Art (which is the Māori transliteration of his name "Samuel.") He says he believes that people can connect to culture through art and innovation, and thatʻs why he wanted to design a guitar especially for Iam to tell his story and be a part of him when he plays it.

Iam knows where he came from and all he want's is to make his family proud. I'd just like to share another example of the community Iam comes from. The senior class of Kahuku High School does not just sing the usual class song at commencement. In addition to their nationally ranked football team (most of the players go on to play in college and quite a few have made it to the NFL), Kahuku High School is famous for their creative and often outrageous performance by the senior class at their graduation ceremony, which once again expresses the pride, spirit, unity, and musical talents of the predominantly Polynesian community on the North Shore of O'ahu. I'm so glad they gave Iam his honorary diploma and ceremony, and you can see from the first song at this ceremony, that he will be a Red Raider forever. I'd just like to share another example of the community Iam comes from. The senior class of Kahuku High School does not just sing the usual class song at commencement. In addition to their nationally ranked football team (most of the players go on to play in college and quite a few have made it to the NFL), Kahuku High School is famous for their creative and often outrageous performance by the senior class at their graduation ceremony, which once again expresses the pride, spirit, unity, and musical talents of the predominantly Polynesian community on the North Shore of O'ahu. I'm so glad they gave Iam his honorary diploma and ceremony, and you can see from the first song at this ceremony, that he will be a Red Raider forever.
